Caught perfectly by the cameras for the tv audience, repeatedly pushing Firpo and up in his face, then for Firpo to push him back once and to fall to the floor like he had been hit in the face with a sledgehammer.

Loved it when he got properly roasted and put in his place by the Elland Road crowd shortly before he was subbed, sweet as.......

The bloke was an utter embarrassment.

Imagine winning 4-0 in a play-off semi-final that you apparently couldn't be bothered to go to, because you'd rather watch it on the telly, and then getting so wound up about an opposition player that you take time out of your day to log on to another teams forum.

We were getting torn apart and he was obviously trying to wind Firpo up to get him sent off and try and get us a way back into the game. Unfortunately that's perfectly normal in the modern game. Hasnt done anything wrong in my opinion, will happen in most games most weekends. I think it's a little bit weird to get so wound up about it but each to their own.

This is his game, thought he was awful last night, jogged around waving his arms and the game went passed him. Well past his best but we’re stuck with him for another year!

Funny how so many rate him, Sargent certainly makes him look good when they play together because he’s done nothing as a striker but the so called ****housery!

He obviously wasn't fit yesterday but his 11 goals / assists have been pretty important to us.

To be fair, much as I would like to I can't disagree with that.  The commentators summed it up when they were discussing how fit Barnes was a few minutes later and suggested that Wagner had said that he was fit enough to do what he had been asked to do. And then added "whatever that was."

Holt could wind up the opposition but could actually play as well.  Barnes just seemed to be there to start a fight and one pass aside contributed absolutely nothing.

That said, surely you must have better things to do today after getting to the play off final than come on here to comment ?!

I actually wouldn't mind if he stuck around to be one of those old overaged players that clubs sign to play U23 football, and to give him a run out if we get Sutton Utd in the cup or in other fixtures in a true emergency, if he fancies doing a coaching badge or two he can do that also.

A lot of clubs do this now, e.g. Tom Huddlestone at Man Utd, and nobody is taking Barnes off our wage bill so might as well give him a productive role.

Yeah but those players that play u23 football aren’t one of the highest earners earning 22k a week. He’d be a pretty expensive u23s asset

I must admit I really dislike Nodge trying to sh!thouse. Several times this season I’ve cringed at our antics, and the amount of time we sit on the turf with our hands in the air, to protest at not be given a free kick for a foul, has been embarrassing.

Yet that ball through should have been intercepted just missed by the Leeds defence, but those assists and goals you referred to were but had Idah had that time on the pitch we would probably seen more return? At 35 he’s pretty poor and should be lower league not turning out for us! IMO

Nobody else is going to pay him £22k a week either (if he's really on that).

So our options are somewhat limited here.

We either pay up his contract, or we get him doing something useful for a year.

Other option is loaning him out to Wigan or Blackpool or similar and clawing back perhaps a few grand a week of that, suspect this will be the outcome.
