Ticketing concessions

As a final point from me about this, I think if a company advertises that it does concessions for over 65's then that should be the case and if tickets are available, then concessions should be applied to them if you qualify. The effect of the current policy seems to be, yes we'll offer them, but only where we want you to sit, not where you want to sit......that just isn't right.

There are general tickets for sale still in every section of the South Stand, but concessions only in Block 0 at the end. That is wrong imo.

Maybe they should “challenge” McNally’s decision to investigate the dozens of season ticket holders that were claiming  age concessions that were not entitled to them? I seem to recall that being a very good idea. 
 

McNally had a few of them I recall. Hiring Lambert in particular.

Two things to bear in mind though. Firstly these are likely to be in high demand for obvious reasons. Second the clientele is heavily youth oriented which you may or may not prefer.

OK thanks. At least it's consistent with casual ticket pricing strategy, rightly or wrongly.

Down to individual choice whether I choose to move to get a cheaper seat, which is unlikely.

If you can get a concession  in the ground , once a year , without the financial commitment of a season ticket I’d take their hand off Lakey regardless of where it is . Grab the ticket . Put a few sheckles into the club , and cheer the boys on.

Possibly, but that would have a huge impact on revenue if more people qualify for concessions, including existing season ticket holders. As a result all prices would need to increase.

It will never appear to be totally fair - for example I've always felt it daft and unfair that new season tickets can be bought at a concessionary prices whereas an under 65 who may have held a ST for 30 years or more pays full whack.

At the end of the day we're all watching the same game where the action takes place all over the pitch and at different ends, unlike a concert or theatre.

Why should he have to sit with plebs like us?

After all, he is the most loyal, the most dedicated of City supporters who rarely, if ever, goes to matches.

As the club moto states: "If you can't get the best, why bother?"

Whatever art you going on about. That's simply not true. I moved my seat in the South Stand to Areas N&O and there's no difference in the mix of age groups around me.

If it is I doubt adults with kids in tow insist on paying full price for everyone when visiting attractions

They are season ticket prices but what always strikes me is the vast area of the ground where the stick of 'dearest cheapest' season tickets are available. Even the next tier is just £12 more. Our STs are expensive but there is always context. I think it's good that the majority pay pretty much the same. Probably something to do with Suffolk Socialism...

I sit in the most expensive seats by the tunnel which have no age discounts whatsoever, I'm not sure about this so maybe someone can correct me if I've got it wrong but I was led to believe that the over 65 discount stopped in that area a few years ago.

Being a codger myself I have to say I have been able to buy seats in any part of the ground, getting £10 off each seat.  This includes the armchair seats in South Stand.  Never been told restriuctions to any seats were in place.  Only issue was I needed to get my status changed from Adult to Old Git at the Ticket Office.  Understand tickets how on genral sale you may be limited to seats available.

Quite agree. I've just booked Theatre Royal tickets for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for me and the grandchildren. No discount for children at all. 

I'm fed up with old people pleading poverty. If you can't afford it don't do it. That's the way it is. 

I'm 64 and I've been going to Carrow Road for 56 years. A friend who had never set foot in the place before 2 years ago comes with me but because he's 70 he gets a huge discount. But I suppose he gives me a lift in his Mercedes Benz so I shouldn't moan.

Yes it does. In a year's time I'll claim my discount. I've never needed it less but I'm not going to cut off my nose to spite my face. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Terrible that after working from 15 years of age I  should get Bus Pass and a small discount from NCFC and never claimed money from Government
