I wonder who's  weapon supply and training since 2015, was used to help the Ukrainian special forces in their recent successes while others were guzzling Russian gas.

3 courses of action this government can do.

Providing weapons: good.

Sanctions: slow, weak and a strong smell of corruption.

Humanitarian aid: slow, complicated, inhumane and lacking any act of charity.

Is it possible to be both?

Boris talking about diplomacy leading to the release of Radcliffe.

Well £400M payoff is a new form of diplomacy.

And keep your mouth shut Boris as she may have been out a long time ago if you hadn't opened your mouth as Foreign Secretary

Wishful thinking, the Iranians would still have her now if we hadnt paid up the 400 million.

So was it wise to give the Iranians a hook to hold her on? Of course it was the £400M which we should have returned 20 years ago. Wonder who banks the interest?

It's bad enough that Rees-Bogg wants to dismiss corruption and law breaking by the PM and Tories as "mere fluff". But what shows the behaviour of this slimy excrescence of a human being in the truest light is the fact that he could stoop so low as to attempt to exploit the horror of what is happening in the Ukraine to get Johnson and his government off the hook for their degenerate governance. How much lower can Rees-Bogg sink?

Although totally different in application and outcome, Fluffgate is just like Ukraine. It is people in power thinking they can do what they like because they are in power.

Dave is back in the news. This time about his volunteering and his trip to the Poland /Ukraine border with supplies.

Austerity, Brexit, Greensil....you've a lot of catching up to do pal. Don't think you'll ever make amends for the damage you've done to your country. It will last well beyond your lifetime.

Did Johnson just equate the brexit vote with the Ukrainian's fight?? 🤨

Yep! Just like Rees-Bogg, he's trying to exploit the horrors happening in Ukraine for his own political advantage. Utterly despicable!

Ukraine and Brexit - Boris Johnson faces flak

Boris Johnson has said Vladimir Putin had been frightened of Ukraine’s free press and free elections.

But it was while Johnson was musing on freedom, that he made a link between Ukrainians fighting for their country and Brexit.

In his speech to the Tory spring conference in Blackpool, Johnson said “it is the instinct of the people in this country, like the people of Ukraine, to choose freedom”. He then said the Brexit vote was a “famous recent example”.

The remarks, intended to rally the Tory party faithful, riled many outside the hall.

Conservative peer lord Barwell, who was Theresa May’s chief of staff in Number 10, said voting in the 2016 referendum wasn’t “in any way comparable with risking your life” in a war.

Liberal Democrat Leader Sir Ed Davey said the comparison was an insult to every Ukrainian - while the SNP’s leader at Westminster Ian Blackford called the comments “crass and distasteful”.

European Twitter went tonto, too.

The former president of the European Council, Donald Tusk, said the words “offended Ukrainians, the British and common sense”.

It certainly feels a clumsy comparison to have made while Ukraine fights for its survival.

On the night of the invasion Johnson and other cabinet minister were still attending Tory party fund raising events with oligarchs in attendance.

Rishi is no better, as bad as the rest, he’s sniffing the leadership, but not through normal process but if Bumbling Baffoon finally falls! There’s not a single conservative cabinet minister I rate, then again there’s not many politicians I rate, they’re all there for their own gains either power or otherwise!

He may well be worse in time but it does show that there is likely to be a Leadership contest looming. Boris has no idea of economics and is struggling to come to terms with the implications of the crisis he is about to face.

He can plead some relief as it is a universal to some respects. But as the Tories were quick to blame Gordon Brown for 2008, then he is a fair target.
