You've constantly argued that people don't follow a few simple rules... Well, in Birmingham's case you may be right:

Lol
I guess what you are saying is the people in the North should be left to it ?

you will see if it’s allowed to reach you. The NHS are desperate for volunteers you could always step up to the plate

Fully appreciate that but what is the option ?

Lots of things can be blamed mainly us for not keeping to the rules, encouraged by the Goverment and misinformation. Surely 2 weeks was better than the month we face now, but if and I stress if the scientists are right it’s to late for a month to put it right.

I see no logic in another lockdown -- Unless one is attempting complete eradication of the virus, which isn't possible, there is no point --- If a lockdown, like the initial lockdown, fails to eradicate the virus completely, the numbers will simply grow exponentially when you end the lockdown --- Lockdowns destroy the economy for no net gain.

Let those who consider themselves at high risk isolate and perhaps some government programmes could be instituted to help, otherwise you need to let the virus take its course.

I'm doing my bit by shielding the vulnerable and elderly and keeping people employed thanks 👍

What are you doing to help?

".......give people a sample of the mass poverty that is coming."

Finally. It's only taken 4 plus years to realise.

We are heading for a mental health crisis the likes of which can’t be imagined in the most horrific nightmare you can conjure. What the hell will we do with the millions of people that won’t want to leave their houses in the wake of this?

If we have another lockdown it's because opinion polls support one --- I say cease all furlough money and give people a sample of the mass poverty that is coming and I suspect the polls would change drastically.

Do you think the government have infinite amounts of free money that they can dish out without any consequence?

Stop posting this ridiculous c*ap Scrounger. You've taken more than your fair share of tax-payer's money.

And...

Macmillan estimate 50,000 missed cancer diagnoses. They say the govt must learn from the mistakes they made in the spring, but the govt won't admit to any mistakes. Full report in the link.

Thick as sh*t. It's about protecting the NHS you moron. If that collapses then the subsequent lock-down would be far worse. Use what little brain you have.

I heard something like 3 million missed breast cancer screenings or something? I mean, we are sitting on a landline here. The real toll is yet to be calculated.

As coincidence has it just emailed my application to a care home. I suspect our business will not be running for a while so happy to even do a few hours without pay if necessary.

Surely staying indoors and shielding does not help the economy, weren’t you advising us to pack out the pubs.

Are you really this dense! I haven't had a single case of the virus among residents and staff because I've followed the correct procedures -- The same procedures would've been followed if the government had gone for herd-immunity, you freak.

Kind of accurate though. Plenty of covid fraud going on to get federal cash. Kind of illustrates that it’s essential, absolutely beyond essential actually, to have socialised healthcare. The NHS is unbelievably important, it can’t be understated.

No one is going to take your word for anything as you have proved yourself to be a lying ars*hole time and again. And you have called for herd-immunity many times, the very practice that devastated care homes in the first phase.

There's no surge in new infections, in fact they are beginning to fall in the worst infected areas. Mortality rates are normal for the time of year. There is absolutely no need for a nationwide lockdown. In hindsight, we should have removed all restrictions at the beginning of the summer when the virus had but all disappeared. Instead we introduced mask wearing when the first wave already was over. Madness.

This is of course very sad but this has happened when we were both locked down and not locked now. The NHS have learnt and managed to stay open, unfortunately it’s people not going to appointments. It will maybe be easier to convince people it’s safer this time with a lock down, certainly hope they will as these areas and parts of our hospitals are now totally Covid secure.

Wrong again, **, herd-immunity was never implemented as it was in Sweden that has faired much better than most.

You are talking absolute b0llocks mate. The hospitals haven’t been anywhere near their normal capacity for cancer diagnosis since the end of lockdown. People will die because they can’t get diagnosis.

Idiot. Do you think Trump is ordering the doctors to inflate the virus numbers? Sack the doctors.

And sack the Sage team in this country who after ten months still have no reliable data about exactly what is happening in this endemic. Garbage In - Garbage Out.

Christ! you really are a moron. I said YOU called for herd-immunity you pillock. Even this incompetent government recognised that herd-immunity would lead to NHS collapse. So lovely to see that you care so much for your in-mates that you advocate a policy that would destroy their access to health care. I hope they and their families get to find out what an unscrupulous sh*t you are.

And as far as Sweden goes their State Epidemiologist totally rejects your claims:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/swedens-fauci-no-disease-in-history-has-been-eradicated-with-herd-immunity—covid-is-no-different/ar-BB1ay6wZ

"Anders Tegnell, Sweden's state epidemiologist who helped shape the country's light-touched response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has said natural herd immunity has never been used to wipe out an infectious disease—and COVID-19 will be no different."

"Asked whether herd immunity was part of Sweden's strategy, Tegnell said "no." He told the newspaper: "striving for herd immunity is neither ethical nor otherwise justifiable."

That we will never know -- It is an established fact that the hospitals never exceeded full capacity with the Nightingale hospitals remaining empty.
