New Labour Leader

Yesterday, Labour’s shadow Cabinet Office minister in the Lords, Baroness Hayter, accused the government of a “costly” approach to spending on Britain’s post-Brexit border arrangements. This must have come as news to her calamity colleague Rachel Reeves, who earlier this week described the border spending as “too little, too late”.

At the start of the week Reeves couldn’t decide if the border spending is coming too early or too late. Today it seems Labour can’t decide if the Government’s £705 million border funding package is“too costly” or “too little”. Brexit seriously competing with the economy for Labour incompetence in the Shadow Cabinet…

They don't know their @rses from their elbows 😃

More tosh from Guido, you are getting desparate @Jools. Johnson/Cummings are in government. They are are responsible for tens of thousands of avoidable deaths. They are responsible for the deepest recession in the OECD. They don't have a clue about how the UK's borders will operate on 1 January. If anyone doesn't know their arses from their elbows it is this bunch.

Of course the 400 million extra forms that Gove will require is too costly. Of course the fact that the forms and IT systems not being ready is too late, as probably will be the Farage Garages in Kent. £705 million is too costly because it was unnecessary, it is too little because it won't cover the costs of the Brexit systems, current estimates have that at £250 million per week.

It goes without saying that if this was untrue, that if Brexit was going well, if the Johnson/Cummings regime was successful Guido would write about that. But the silence is telling, it is all deflection, "look over there that lot who are not accountable and have no power are much worse".

I wonder how much money Starmer will be shown to have taken from dogy Russians, when the report is published ?

We know how much Johnson has trousered so far, will there be more - and what was it for ?

Did the Russians expect something in return ?

Government currently undertaking a massive media deflection exercise, raising the Russians now, ahead of the release of a document they have been sitting on for months.

It's not going to look good if it does say there was interference and they let another election pass without doing anything. They better be praying that this is all another of Cummings 4D chess shenanigans.

I think it is Johnson himself, rather than the government. who has been blocking this

You don't take £160,000 to play a tennis match without there being 'strings attached'

https://www.politicshome.com/news/article/boris-johnson-admits-he-did-play-160000-tennis-match-with-exrussian-ministers-wife

And keep an eye out for mentions of the Lebedevs

Fat boy is up to his neck in this

I think it is more a case of 'setting the hounds running'

Johnson taking money from dodgy Russians is known - where did Aarons get his £8m to fund the Leave campaign come from. who funded Cambridge Analytica....

There's a whole host of unanswered questions that might not be explained in the report - but will offer short cuts to the electoral fraud which has been pretty much accepted as having happened

Congratulations to Sir Keir Starmer for taking a strong line against the anti-semites in his party today. Beginning to drain the swamp. It would have been the icing on the cake had he withdrawn the whip from Corbyn but one battle at a time is enough to be going on with.

Putin has 12 Russian spies ‘legally’ operating in the UK RIGHT NOW, official claims

That from the Daily Express, the posh paper that Tories wipe their arris with.

So a Tory Government, is taking money from Communists!

Shame on you.

Number 10, the Londonistan laundromat😜

An unholy mess swirling around labour as they pay out damages to the victims of the Corbyn regime, almost to the point of bankruptcy.

While the old guard rally around Jeremy raising funds for legal challenges, it's just as well that Starmer is a lawyer.

The problem isn't going away until they bite the bullet and dump Corbyn from the party. But does Starmer have the cojones to do this?

Poor RTB. He's failed to notice the title of this thread is 'New Labour Leader' and is railing against the old one.

He's swallowed the Torygraph nonsense and failed to see the 'Under New Management' sign.

He fails to notice anything that doesn't fit the Regime Of Evil mantra.

Another epic fail from Jools. He probably only read the headline.

A spokesperson insisted that the app had worked "at all times" but that certain Android devices prevented all apps from running permanently in the background.

"This applies not only to the Corona Alert app, but to all apps on those smartphones."

The ministry said that the problem had been known for a long time and had been pointed out in the app's FAQ section.

With the new version, released on Wednesday, "the problem has been solved," the spokesperson said.

Users are now instructed upon opening the app to go to settings and activate the "prioritised background activity" option.

And what anyone else does does not excuse our Government for all their mistakes.

We live in a world where banana taped to a wall with duct tape sold for $120,000, so you never know.

Could it be possible that someone so stupid to pretend that David Bowie had visited them at their flat would make such a simple joke?

It's the new Labour leader who has to clean up the mess left behind by the previous one.  The pertinent question is, will he be allowed to and will it bankrupt the Labour Party in the process? Will the unions come to the rescue of Starmer and provide Labour with the funds to bail them out or will the Len McCuskyies of this world continue to support the hardliners? Will Momentum retreat back under their stone and allow the moderates in the party to rule without major dissent, or will they oppose everything that Starmer tries to do? These are all pertinent questions and Labour's  continued existence as a major political party depends on how Starmer address them.

I see at the weekend, another blast from the past, Tony Blair, was giving Sir Kneeler his support. Will that be a help or a hindrance within the party? The past is still relevant to the future.

Keep up. He is retiring😜

That's why I used that particular phrase, I assume he will be replaced. Will the incoming be a Starmerite or Momentumium?
