KiwiScot 1,443 Posted May 27, 2019 Don't see Derby winning this let alone scoring. Both teams not showing enough quality in the final third. Villa controlling the game.
Surfer 1,547 Posted May 27, 2019 Well there you go - horrible defending from both full backs - oodles of space to exploit and then no challenge on shortest attacker on the pitch.
ricardo 7,395 Posted May 27, 2019 That should be it. Derby not really turned up.
Surfer 1,547 Posted May 27, 2019 Oh boy oh boy. Who’s CK mistake was worse - Charlton or Derby?
Branston Pickle 3,659 Posted May 27, 2019 Looks like I’m likely to be 3 for 3 from these play-offs...hope these are followed up by Arsenal/Spurs in the Euros.

Icecream Snow 761 Posted May 27, 2019 Makes for an entertaining finish, but Villa should hang on. If only Derby had shown that kind of energy earlier.

Surfer 1,547 Posted May 27, 2019 Congratulations to Villa and Dean Smith. He’s done a great job since arriving earlier this season. Not a great playoff final performance but Villa’s ten game winning streak was very impressive. Best of luck to Jed Steer too, and we can now look forward to Jack Grealish gracing Premier League grounds again. 😎 Congratulations also to Frank Lampard. To take a team that only finished sixth last year all the way to sixth this year is an accomplishment worthy of a manager destined for the very top. p.s. how much do you want for Marriot? Nice to see the ex-Ipswich and ex-Peterborough players making a difference where the “big teams” loan players were failing. You should thank your assistant for insisting that they were put on. And that as they say is all folks. It’s been a great season - roll on next year and all the fun, fear, joy and despair that it will bring!
Rock The Boat 1,332 Posted May 27, 2019 Villa were decent to us when we won the Championship at their gaff, so all the best to them, and it looks a good six points for us next season.
ricardo 7,395 Posted May 27, 2019 Derby left it far too late to play positively. Villa deserved to win.

Icecream Snow 761 Posted May 27, 2019 Will be interesting to see how much Villa have to spend. They started today with four loans (Abraham, El Gahzi, Mings and Tuanzebe) and brought on Hause (another loanee). With only two domestic loans in the Premiership, they'd either have to sign them (it sounded like OGS wasn't going to let Tuanzebe out next year) or find permanent replacements.
