1. I gave up when I put in Southampton and was told it was wrong! I also put in Wimbledon, but they changed their name after relegation to League 1 and played as MK Dons from then on.
2. There are some on here that have their heads in the sand too though!
3. PS If Smith and (Wynne)-Jones are the Suffolk Socialists, was the boy Chase the Acle Autocrat?
4. No, I think Delia''s had her day, but you mentioned Chase''s feelings about O''Neill, and I''ve always thought that we would have been promoted if O''Neill had stayed-and I think that Leicester and us were similar teams around that time, he kept them up for 4 or 5 seasons before he left, and I think that he would have done the same with us. I didn''t know that Chase was so anti-O''Neill and the fact that he cut off his nose to spite his face shows me what kind of person he really was. So yes, I do blame him (but not only him) for the 10 years before we got promoted again, because of the chance that he threw away.
5. Possibly because he knows that if he tried the stuff he gets away in The SPL down here he’d be getting sent off every week!
6. O’Neill became Leicester manager and got them promoted 5 months later. Well done Chase, probably consigned us to 10 years in the Chumps because of that decision.
7. Waveney, isn''t that a bit racist, saying that the Chinese stink? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
8. Off the pitch I think he does more than a lot of people: "Naismith is an ambassador for Dyslexia Scotland, launched a scheme to help ease the progress of injured ex-service personnel back into work, and supports centres for the homeless in Glasgow and Liverpool. In August 2014, he donated tickets for Everton matches to be distributed via Liverpool jobcentres to unemployed people actively looking for work."
9. Ben Godfrey has been a key part of a team chasing promotion from League 1. Look at the teams that came up from league 1 last season-Sheff Utd and Millwall still in with a chance of the play offs this season-it''s not such a big step up really.
10. I will bow to Mark Rivers'' superior analysis here-he said that Preston didn''t play like a team going all out for the play-offs, so perhaps DF''s plan to stay strong in the face of a relentless Preston attack should have been changed when it was apparent that Preston weren''t playing the way he expected. This is where DF seems to be quite limited-rarely changing the approach during a game. He could have put Hernandez on much earlier for example.
11. My wife once met one of the lads from that milk advert in a nightclub in Liverpool. He was out celebrating his 21st birthday and said that she was the only person who remembered the advert, which seems strange as it was an iconic advert in the 80s.
12. The firesale continues. What a fiasco. You couldn’t make it up. (Have I missed any out Highland?)
13. My brother told me that he used to see grown men at a London ground-I think it was Stamford Bridge-in the 70s shaving before going in through the Under 16s turnstiles.
14. Interesting point Lakey, where do you stand on the issue of Norwich fans who gave Robert Snodgrass undeserved rubbish while he was here? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
15. I don’t begrudge them their success but in my opinion Angus is a much better keeper-more athletic and agile, better at coming for crosses, better at shot stopping, better at organising and communicating and better at distribution. I’m pretty sure that if we still had Ruddy our goals conceded would have been even higher this season, and if Wolves had Angus in goal they would have conceded less-including our equaliser 😝
16.
Nothing to do with Farke getting him ready to come on against QPR, they score a 4th goal and he tells him to put his top on and go back in the dug out? Not the best way to give him confidence.
Are you sure about that? I commented on the match thread that I thought it was Srbeny who was ready to come on-Number 32. Unless we were readying 2 subs and ended up putting neither of them on, which would be really bizarre.
17. It depends on how you quantify success. Robert Chase and Delia Smith are level on trophies won, with zero each.
18. From what I saw of Godfrey against West Ham in the 2 FA cup games he is definitely ready for the Championship.
19.
Next week we will see what we could have won ,Steve Bruce manager ,Snodgrass, lansbury, and even grabben who has scored a few goals with them, all in front of the sky cameras . Could be embarrassing.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„
20. It was summed up by a fan next to me today when Matt Smith beat his man with a piece of skill that you would not be surprised to see from Maddison, and the fan shouted out to the team in general "Even that f...ing carthorse is taking the pi$$ out of you"
21. What is Farke’s ethos Duncan?
22. I saw nothing today that gave me any hope for optimism. Passing the ball around aimlessly until we lose it just doesn’t work, strangely enough. On the couple of occasions that we had free kicks where we could have put the ball in the area, we didn’t. Possession for the sake of it is pretty pointless.
