1. Sounds like things may be better with NO and DF, after his comments at the press conference today. Apparently Nelson apologised and is in contention for Sunday.Good.
 2.
I''m sure plenty of ex-pats have UK bank accounts? Don''t see why that would be a factor. Presumably you can legitimately use it if there''s a game while you''re on holiday for example, but paid for in advance from UK.
I''m speaking from experience! Trust me... It causes issues. Those issues may be able to be resolved, of course, but the problem is certainly with the UK bank account payments. My friend works in Holland a fair bit and should be able to legit watch when over there. But he had the same problems I''ve just described.
 3. Hi FTHA...As far as I know, the game isn''t on Sky. Only reason it''s been moved is because Sunderland played in the Cup on Wednesday.IFollow is going to be tricky. Even if one uses a VPN the issue is paying for games, or the service. If the payment comes from a UK bank account it might be that they just don''t allow the person trying to sign up to have the service. Obviously, if using a VPN, the IP address will look different but they can tell someone is trying to watch it in UK as they would have paid with a UK account.Hope that helps.
 4.
Let''s hope Webber has his eyes open for a decent striker as well. We might well need one. His nationality is irrelevant as long as he isn''t Portuguese.
Adding flames to the fire...
 5. Read the article, haven''t read through all the posts on this thread. But one thing I can say for certain is that I agree with Dennis on Butler... The man is a cretin.I am not sure how he got his job but he should probably go and do something else because he''s shocking at it.
 6.
Not seen the goals back so don''t know who''s man it was but Zimmerman seems to struggle getting off the ground for his headers. Still think him and Franke are an improvement on Martin and Klose though. I''m a bit concerned by Reed sitting in front. Offers zero protection although always shows for the ball. I''d prefer to have a proper defensive midfielder in there especially if we already have Wes and Maddison who are always showing for the ball off the defence. Maybe Steipermann is earmarked for that role.
When Klose is fit he will definitely be starting, mark my words! He is very good with the ball at his feet and his distribution is, generally, decent. This fits with Farke''s style and philosophy. Why wouldn''t we be playing a defender who has Champions League experience on his CV too, hey? He did get buffeted about a bit last season by gigantic Championship centre forwards, but hopefully that experience has helped him improve his game at this level. Also, pretty sure Martin will be starting more often than not too. Sorry, Russ haters!!
 7.
Just so I''m clear, I''m not negitive at all about any of our signings. I think the summer spending on youth and first team has been spot on and I''m excited about this season. I think for me, it would have been great to have signed a name ''I'' have heard of....I would like to see someone like Naki Wells who is proven at this level. That said transfer fee / wages may be an issue. I think it''s great that we are investing in youth and also good to see our current squad is much younger than last season. We needed to get rid of the dead wood! I am positive.
I''d love Wells here too but, unfortunately, we aren''t operating at that kind of level with regards to signings now. Seems mad that I''ve just written that, considering we were deemed ''big players'' in terms of financial clout in the Championship just last season. But we''ve seen where splashing out on players and wages has got us, hence the signings we may not be so familiar with now. Having watched the new boys in the friendly against Brighton and also some of the games in Germany, I feel confident that we''ll be well equipped for a push this season.
 8.
Very optimistic we can make top 6. Slight concern over Gunn''s lack of experience and lack of striking depth, should we get any injuries. On the whole though happy with strength of team and new battling philosophy. Middlesbrough, Derby, Fulham and Villa, should all be up there.
Agree re Gunn... Have we even seen him stop a shot yet? Aside from that last minute tip over the bar in one of the friendlies? He is excellent with his feet, but I''ve not seen him particularly tested. That could be a good omen, of course, as it means our defence are doing their jobs properly!
 9.

"That''s what I keep saying, it''ll be good to sign a proven player at this or PL level!!" Windshutt , Watkins, Husband, Reed?
Would you say they are ''all'' proven? Windshutt - Not proven. Maybe League 1! Watkins - Maybe at Championship. Husband - struggled to get a regular starting place. Reed - on loan and not proven.....yet. I am on about players being absolutely proven at this level. Worked for Newcastle last season. Albeit they had a bit more money. I''m optimistic for this season but the experience of our squad does worry me esp at the back.
Reed has played Premiership football for Southampton on more than one occasion. Take your point that it doesn''t necessarily mean he''s ''proven'' but he has played at a better level than where we are currently, albeit not consistently.
 10. I imagine it goes towards safeguarding the future. We won''t receive any more parachute payments after this season, the squad (although thinned out) still costs us a fair bit in wages and they need to be sensible in terms of the way the club is run from here on in.I don''t really care how much a player costs (we paid over the odds for pretty much every player signed during AN''s tenure) I just want them to want to play for Norwich and to put their heart into it. We may have unearthed some gems at a fraction of the cost this season, we won''t know until we have seen them play a number of games. Of course, they might also be total donkey''s but I trust DF and SW''s judgement enough. In short, DF said he didn''t expect the Murphy money to be entirely reinvested into the squad, so you can pretty much rule out a big ''marquee'' signing. I''m afraid that won''t be happening for some time!
 11.
His goals for Hearts have come against Peterhead, East Fife and Elgin...pretty much the same scoring pattern as with his highly touted international record.Apples
The Elgin ground is directly opposite one of my clients over in, unsurpisingly, Elgin! It''s a proper old ground, but akin to something like The Walks in Kings Lynn. I walked right in there and had a good look around.
 12.
Funny how the same suspect still makes shite remarks trying to get bites when I''ve intentionally ignored him. Good to see you back Greavsy. But like Till I''m at a loss as I''ve never heard anyone say Bowkett mismanaged in his tenure. You could be right Bobloz, but surely Huddersfield in the premiership would be higher paying than us? Strange to jump at the time he did, might have been a take it or gamble on Huddersfield getting promoted! Wonder what he would do now given the situations of both clubs!
Probably stick with Huddersfield! Or maybe he got sick of crap weather and rugby?? The reasons and possibilities for his leaving are likely endless. I guess we''re seen as a ''bigger'' club, a ''sleeping giant'' or whatever. History wise, maybe. Not league position wise, just now, that''s for sure!Or he could be chancing it that if he managed to help get us promoted this season or next it would propell him to his next career move which may well be even more lucrative for him.Short answer is...nobody knows. But I reckon it was down to money in the first instance.
 13.
I do like the look of Webber but I do still have concerns, the major one being if he''s so good and guided a Huddersfield club on the rise to the Premiership, why jump to a club destined for a few years of downgrading in terms of players and funds? Surely if he had a choice he''d want to be at the highest level, so to take a step sidewards even downwards is a little disconcerting for me, was there more behind his departure from Huddersfield? Still he''s doing a decent job in the way he''s handled the restructuring thus far, time will see if he''s as good as some believe.
Maybe we''re paying him more money than them? Seems to work for everything else in the football world!
 14.
What a shambles this pre season is turning out to be We are selling off our prize assets cheap 6 mill for howson really!!! And replacing with really poor replacements with the balance being trousered It''s such a shame
Must. Resist. The. Bait
 15.
I''m really confused as to how people have taken up this article to show that Josh might go to Newcastle. Benitez literally says ''we are happy with one of them.'' It sounds like Newcastle scouted both of them over time and decided to move for Jacob.
Exactly this. I have to believe that no deal for Josh will be sanctioned, not this season. At least, that''s what I hope!
 16.

I wouldn''t be surprised if Wolves are offering silly money. The man advising them will of course take a cut of fee and salary as he also represents the player. Wolves already have 5 Mendes players on their books - he is making a pretty packet out of them.
If there is a release clause it''s yet another example of how poorly our transfers have been negotiated in the past season or two. Absolutely shocking! I am going to set my season ticket ablaze if this happens. I''m also sick of all the rumours now! Why on earth Webber decided to say ''Every player is for sale at the right price'' is beyond me. It just elevates speculation and gives other clubs the impetus to come knocking.
It''s looks like your ability in posting on this forum is about as impressive as your understanding of what goes on in football."If there is a release clause it''s yet another example of how poorly our transfers have been negotiated in the past season or two." Having a release clause is in no way an indication of how well we, or any other club, carries out transfers. From what I can see, almost every player has a release clause these days, or at least the halfway decent ones. "I''m also sick of all the rumours now!" I would bet that if there weren''t any rumours you''d be one of the ones on here complaining that our club wasn''t doing anything. Plus rumours are (rarely) anything to do with our club, as others have said it''s either clickbait from websites, or agents trying to drum up some interest, so no stick to beat the club with there."Why on earth Webber decided to say ''Every player is for sale at the right price'' is beyond me." Because it''s true. He''s being open and honest with us - would you prefer something else? And this is true of almost, in fact, probably every club.Take a deep breath and chill.
Just getting involved for fun... Maybe you should chill out? I mean, with your posts and in life in general. I am a long time lurker, I just don''t post that often, usually because halfwits like you come back with unfriendly responses... Keyboard warrior!Have a fun weekend.

 19.
Parma, Not sure who John is Parma - Jacob''s agent is Max Ferdinand (yes, a relation).
Yep, hence the reason Rio was talking him up on Twitter and what not during the U21 campaign...
 20. I''m excited about our fresh start but it seems as though the old issue of funding and how the club is run has come back to haunt us... Except now we''re struggling to compete financially in the Championship rather than struggling financially in the Prem. I guess that this bad feeling of mine has probably been triggered by the sale of possibly my favourite City player of the past few years in Howson. But if a player is determined to move there is not much the club can do to stand in his way. Especially seeing as though we can''t afford to pay him the same amount as he was on, seemingly. I am happy to trust SW and DF to deliver but I can''t help but feel we''re going backwards slightly, rather than being the ''progressive'' club the board would like us to believe we are.
 21.
Seeing a lot of stuff on Newsnow about Boro being in for Howson. Nothing''s broken on credible sources yet though
Yes, I''m seeing this too and apparently they are ''set to test our resolve with a 5 million offer''Derisory, in my opinion. If we are to sell to a Championship rival we MUST ask for at least 10 million. Especially within the inflated market as it is.I do find it quite funny, however, that Monk is now going up against his old club to get a player they''d dearly love back. Oh what a joke Leeds are!
 22. I don''t think any of us need to get hot under the collar just yet. Webber is clearly a man who likes to get his business done as quickly as possible. A scout for Liverpool before being made director of recruitment there, I feel he may have a much better idea than any of us of who is available, who would fit into Farke''s plans and how best to get them.
 23. I like to (try and) believe that the Murphy''s will stay with us. They love the club, they''re fans and they have been brought up in the local area. However, there will always come a time when they are attracting serious interest and in our current financial state we may not be able to turn it down. Josh started playing terrifically well towards the end of last season too, so we shouldn''t forget about him. Although the fact that Jacob has made the U21''s probably makes him a slightly more mouth-watering prospect for some Prem teams right now (not that it should, really). It is also worth noting that Rio is affiliated to a sports management agency of which Jacob and Josh are clients. He''s probably trying to drum up some extra interest because he''d make money off the back of any potential sale.Let''s put it this way. If Jacob does have a storming tournament and then we end up selling him for 8 million or something I would be annoyed. I think he warrants a higher fee, especially with the money Premier League clubs chuck around on players that turn out to be average in the Prem. He''s had experience of English football and has done well at it, so why shouldn''t we ask for 12-15 million?
 24. I work for a company which does publishing, events and awards. Predominantly in the drinks industry (whisky, mainly, but also spirits and BEER!) I''m the commercial manager for Scotland and some parts of Europe...Cheers! [D][<:o)]
