1.
Bethnal - do you think Swansea, West Brom or Palace might want him? FWIW - I''d quite like him to stay & if we do see a revival, he''d be a key part of it to get us to the playoffs.
The funniest thing is the Sheffield Utd fans thinking they could come and poach big Timm from us! [:D]
 2.
Whether Godfrey returns or not really depends on how much football Webber and Farke think he''ll get. No point bringing him back if he will be 3rd or 4th in line after the likes of Tettey, Trybull, Reed etc. Better for Godfrey for him to play another 20 odd games at Shrewsbury and continue his development. It is a balancing act, Norwich probably could have done with him when they had a few injuries, but now players are coming back he isn''t really needed as much. Could bring him back just in case there are a spate of 3 or 4 injuries at the same time again, but that seems like being over precautious. It looks like he could be a great player, Shrewsbury fans have been saying he''s as good as any midfielder in League One. But he needs games and experience, won''t get that sitting on the bench (if he even makes it that far) at Norwich.
I agree with that, I just don''t think we should consider selling him just yet until he''s had a full season with us. Reed will likely go back to Southamption next season, so perhaps Godfrey could be blooded for us then. Him and Trybull in those deeper lying roles could work well (this is, of course, assuming Tettey is off in the summer)
 3. Has anyone watched him play at Shrewsbury? I have heard good reports but not actually seen any of his performances. Would be interesting to see how crucial to their team he has been and, more importantly, how he''s being played. Do they play a similar system to us? With two deeper lying midfielders and the attacking players supporting a lone striker?
 4. Story on the front page, as you''ll all have seen, about how a trio of Premier League clubs are being linked with a move for Ben Godfrey.Don''t know about you guys but I feel it''s a ridiculous story (and would be a crazy move) as he has barely even been seen in yellow and green yet, so I can''t see us letting him go.I think he''s back in Jan isn''t he? If so, it would be interesting to see how he performs in the holding midfield role. With Tettey''s contract up in the summer, could he be our new holding midfield general?
 5. I like the thought process but it''s not as if the current regime aren''t into giving youth a go. With this in mind, I can only presume that Abraham isn''t quite up to it yet, in their professional opinion. However, I do think we''ll see him in the squad before the season is out.
 6. Always thought that Leicester winning the Prem title was a total fix!
 7. This thread is too long to read while at work, flitting between my Outlook and browser in a vain attempt to look like I''m doing some actual work and not on a forum. Can anyone give me the TLDR summary? (Should be fun...)
 8. Likely that he didn''t fit the mould of ''young up and coming manager'' that we seem so hell bent on rolling out.In other words... Wasn''t going to be as cheap an option. Still, no point in looking back.
 9.
So firing managers with experience of working with 1at team players and replacing them with a reserve team coach is good business for a club looking to establish in the top flight? Webber was at Wrexham and QPR..... i''ll get excited shall I? Would you be happy with 12th or below?
You''re forgetting Liverpool.
 10.
Live in canada had no problem with video but had no commentery at all very dissatisfied with it, 1 game commentery next game none
This is because they only provide commentary for home games, so it''s strange that it wasn''t there if you''re talking about the game on Sat. There isn''t any commentary for away games, which are the only ones I watch via stream!
 11. Not sure I said it did, but point taken.
 12.
Yes, I mean, how could anyone possibly read this sentence... "As for replacements up front... Kieffer Moore is doing rather well." And think you were suggesting him as a possible replacement. Crumbs.
Perhaps read on from there... It was slightly tongue in cheek, the entire quote that is.Anyway. Who cares. He is actually the leading goal scorer in all leagues in England just now (confidence can go a long way) and we have never had a striker who was scoring loads of goals at League Two level and came and did well for us have we...? [;)]Despite all of this I will reiterate AGAIN. He belongs to Ipswich and wasn''t deemed good enough to play for them in Championship so probably wouldn''t be for us. He is whatever in line behind Waghorn and whoever else that they have there. Many on here didn''t think Waghorn would be any good for them and relentlessly took the pi$$, yet he has scored, what, 8 goals for them this season? More than any of our attacking players have managed.
 13.
Yeah but to be fair, after the first couple of games a load on here (probably you included) made out we''d never be able to defend for toffee and would probably be in a relegation scrap. So i''m more inclined to side with Farke. Also, i''m sure they''re looking at strikers but are unlikely to put pressure on themselves unnecessary by stating that they need to go and get one. It also shows support for CJ and NO.
Totally correct, Hoge. Some people on here seem to have really no idea what ''media friendly'' quotes are actually all about. It doesn''t just keep the media outlet happy, but can also be used to deflect attention from other situations and, as you have said, can help keep players happy by showing support etc. There is a reason that players, managers etc. are media briefed before pretty much every interview.
 14. I have some German/Austrian blood too through my dad''s side of the family (Nan from Vienna and Grandad who is half German)... I think the royal family have more in common with lizards, don''t they? [;)]
 15.
Does it come with a cash prize? Perhaps some investment tips?
Perhaps the Royal family will buy Norwich City? [:D] [;)]
 16.
I don''t think it is a particularly bold prediction to say if Nelson leaves we won''t go up. Also someone suggesting Kieffer Moore as a replacement? Bloody hell.
It was me who mentioned Kieffer Moore but not as a replacement. Please go back and read my post and you''ll hopefully see that it wasn''t my recommendation.Crumbs...
 17.
So by getting rid of Olivera and Jerome who do we play up front?
I''ve said it to friends and the people who sit near me at the game for some time.... Nelson is a great striker but the way he acts, his temperament etc. is not condusive to our new ''way'' forward. I still can''t believe his antics at the start of the season. As for replacements up front... Kieffer Moore is doing rather well. What a shame he belongs to the dirty blue chaps from down the road! Since when did Ipswich start getting more lethal strikers than ours?? [:$]
 18.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2e9kA8DjEhg 😂😂😂😂
That''s about the billionth time I''ve seen this clip but it''s still gold! There was also an hilarious open goal miss the same weekend... Odd powers at work!
 19. A media friendly quote if ever you''ll see one!Probably should say something along the lines of, "Mike Ashley has put NUFC up for sale as he can no longer deal with pumping money into a team that he doesn''t support or really care about that much"[;)]
 20. Just noticing the pic on the Pink ''Un of Nelson and Reed after the Hull game.Nelse seems to have a bunch of big round spots, or bruises on his back.Anyone else think this is probably the result of a bit of ''cupping'' therapy? It is the only thing I think it could possibly be, aside from mad birthmarks of course!Pretty OT, but... whatever!
 21.
Totally agree about the lack of desire from Vrancic. I mean, I only remember him doing great work in the right back position to win the ball cleanly when the opposition were in a dangerous area. And that incident when he kept hold of the ball on the edge of Hull area, holding off about 5 Hull defenders despite being hustled and tackled, yet still emerging with the ball. A player with desire would have run around after the ball a bit more.
Don''t forget the pass that led to Wildschutt''s chance from which he should have scored. Was a great ball from Vrancic. I''ve said this in other places, but he (Vrancic) is so laconic in his playing style it alsmost seems as though he isn''t doing much in a game. Then you watch highlights back and notice that he was actually involved in some crucial moments. But, yes, he is a frustrating fellow to watch at times! Also, he seems to lack strength and any desire to make tackles which is quite annoying.
 22.
Webber hasn’t shown any loyalty in any of his previous posts. This , coupled with his crass comments about Alex Neil show his lack of class. He really has a monstrous ego for someone who has achieved nothing.
Right. Instrumental in getting Huddersfield promoted to Premier League as Sporting Director (something they''ve never managed before) and director of recruitment at Liverpool by the time he was about 30??I''d say he''s an over-achiever. Doesn''t make me like him any more, but to say he''s achieved nothing is absolute nonsense.
 23.
It shouldn’t matter whether Hucks is a legend or not, he is of course. It’s about his coaching ability surely that’s what’s most important isn’t it? What I do find strange is Webber saying we aren’t producing the talent when he has gone out and bought Phillips, Fonkeu and Abrahams, instead of us giving homegrown youngsters a chance
Bringing the three that you mention in (don''t forget young Greek lad we got from Arsenal too) is more about strengthening our youth prospects. These are all players who have been at other clubs and have, I would imagine, been singled out as a good buy (for not a lot of money) to develop for the future. In the case of Abrahams, he''d played a few games in the lower leagues and impressed so, arguably, a better option to bring him in than go with what we already had. Phillips would be well known to SW from his time at Liverpool and was one of their hottest prospects until he had a bad injury. In short, they''re all pretty talented guys who will undoubtedly play U23''s here, then go out on loan for a season or half season when close to being ready for first team action. I think it''s a good thing.
 24. The academy is clearly a huge part of Webber''s vision for the club moving forward and I would argue that it definitely needs to be now there isn''t as much money coming into the club. The ability to cast our nets wide and far, bring young players through to the first team and then sell them for significant profits is something a lot of fans have been crying out for ..."Why aren''t we like Southampton?! They always seem to produce great young talent" is a phrase often heard (not just here but throughout football). If the academy was failing (in SW''s eyes) then something needed to be done about it and these are the steps he''s decided to take.I am not SW''s biggest fan and I love Hucks (like we all do!) But maybe having a club legend in charge wasn''t the preference for SW and this could even come down to the emotional connection the owners feel towards Hucks. In that they perhaps let him get away with a bit more, or never question his ability to do the job, purely based on who he is and what he means to NCFC.Speculation, of course, from me!
