1. @morty PEDANT ALERT a light year is a measure of distance, not time. Spending four light years on the club cabbage would just be four years. Your ''years'' may vary in length, of course, (due to relativity) based on the speed of travel or the mass of objects you pass. As for the score.... We can win this. My feeling is that if we score, we win. Even if they take the lead, if we get a goal their heads will drop. I''m going to say 2-0 City.
2. Beating Newcastle United Could Relegate Us.... ;)
3. Joined Bristol City on loan until Jan. Hopefully a good opportunity to get some minutes and come back stronger. Does this leave us a little light on the right though? I guess not, but don''t we only have one genuine right-sided winger? http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/norwich-city-elliott-bennett-bristol-city-loan-2733276.aspx
4. @ruthers1/smudger/whoever you are, Can you just bog off please pal. You''re not big, clever or witty and if you''re trying to troll you''re doing a pretty poor job.
5. Thanks for the reply Parma - interesting and informative as always. If we''re ever in the pub, I''ll happily get the beers in!
6. @Yelloow - I tend to agree (that''s how I read and interpreted Parma''s analysis). What I was thinking (if I understood Parma correctly, of course) was that the fluidity relies on a few key principles, and if these are successfully nullified, or a majority of them nullified at least, then the whole house of cards could come falling down. And yes, very much looking forward to Parma''s answer to Q2 also.
7. Thanks again for some great posts Parma - I don''t want to be too gushing, but your posts are always an entertaining and informative read. I''ve a couple of questions, and would welcome your thoughts. 1) Are we one-dimensional? By that I mean do we have the one strategic approach (which you have previously analysed) and if this is effectively countered, we are done for? The old ''no plan B'' argument. 2) The million-dollar question - how would you counter NCFC? Thanks again for the posts Parma
8. It''s not sold out, so try the ticket office or tickets.canaries.co.uk It doesn''t look like there is anything in The Barclay, but you might get lucky with a late buyback. There seem to be plenty of others dotted around though.
9. And here comes Buzz Killington..... I considered replacing pay-TV with a streaming box some time ago. First though I wanted to check the legality over ownership and, importantly, streaming content for free which I would otherwise have had to pay for (i.e. Sky) before going ahead with anything. I''m not a Goody Two-Shoes or anything, just didn''t want to run this risk of getting busted for something so trivial (I work in IT, so getting nicked for something IT related could, potentially, be career ending). Anyway, turns out that streaming encrypted content is illegal (best source I could find quickly is a news article, URL at the bottom). Anyone watching encrypted content which they haven''t paid for could be prosecuted. I''m not moralising in any way (I have some issues with software piracy, but that''s another story) but just thought I''d share what I''d found out previously. In the short term I seriously doubt anyone would be prosecuted (an exception might be a pub/club charging entry and making a big song-and-dance about what they were showing), but who knows what the future will hold. http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-news/free-tv-boxes-streaming-legal-9427090
10. This has been at the back of my mind since the three year season ticket deal was announced - are the club''s finances not in the best of shape? I genuinely have no idea, and I''m not a conspiracy theorist or anything, but looking on the official website there is a story which says that the three year deal has sold out and next seasons season tickets can be purchased from January 2016. Don''t season ticket renewals/sales start a bit later in the season? Like I say, not a conspiracy theorist but it just strikes me as a bit odd that in both this seasons transfer windows the club are running ''schemes'' to increase liquidity.
11. If your implication is that by failing to strengthen sufficiently during this transfer window The Board have condemned NCFC to relegation and meaning the club miss out on £120 Million and should therefore resign then... You''re wrong. The £120 Million figure bandied around is the (approximate) sum of one year in the Premier League and then Parachute Payments following relegation. So, if you want the club to have an extra £120 Million (not paid in a lump sum, mind you) then you should be super happy that we haven''t strengthened as much as every fan would have liked and you should be congratulating the board on a job well done.
12. I think this is all just a big in-joke by the club. The Premier League have told them that they MUST have an away shirt, even if your home colours don''t clash. In response McNally went all Henry Ford and said "fine, you can have any colours you like, so long as they''re yellow and green."* The real kits will then be unveiled upon the signing of A Big Name Striker. McNally loves it when a plan comes together. *I''m aware that this is an apocryphal tale. P.S. The home kit is growing on me, the away kit isn''t bad but jeez the third kit is bloomin awful.
13. I really like him. Good old fashioned centre half, complete with a nose that has been broken on more than one occasion. Having said that, it''s probably time for him to move on. He was being found out a little at our end of the championship. He isn''t the quickest, and has the turning circle of an aircraft carrier.
14. If anyone needs to drive to get a coach from County Hall I have parking right next to Carrow Road which can be used on Monday. I don''t drive myself, so I don''t know what demand will be like or what parking is already available. It can fit two ''normal'' sized cars, so possibly two spaces available. It''s off road (it''s my drive) in a quiet street. I''m asking for £10 per car, and you''re more than welcome to leave it overnight and collect on Tuesday if required. Ideally I''d like to be in the queue to get on a coach at about 7:30, so you''d need to be able arrive before then but let me know if you''d need alternate arrangements. PM me if you''re interested.
15. A few things: 1) If you''re going to self-promote, that''s cool, but at least be honest about it. 2) You need to proof read! I''ve just spent a few minutes reading through several pages on your blog, and there are numerous typos. 3) Get your facts right. You''re trying to present and promote yourself as an authority (and best of luck to you) but with dodgy facts you just make yourself look a bit silly. I''m not trying to be a jerk - just some constructive criticism.
16. Can''t help with a ticket but.... Silly question perhaps, but have you tried calling the ticket office? I often have to get a ticket at the last minute due to work commitments and have found that even if the website says sold out, there may be the odd one or two tickets available. Hope you manage to get one sorted
17. "Half time the other night "I think we will go onto win 5-0" Cue catastrophic defending again and 2-2! " Ah ha! So your real problem with Butler is the fact he jinxed us! Burn the witch! Buuuuurrrrnnnn him!
18. Not going to try and quote, because this archaic forum doesn''t play nicely with modern browsers, but I wish people would stop with the whole Fox was awesome at passing, what we have now is rubbish at passing. Fox was awesome at passing, but what we have now is also pretty darned good. Alex Tettey has something approaching a 90% pass completion rate. Howson''s is around 85%. Jono brings up the rear with approx 75%. Yes, I''m aware stats don''t tell the whole story but really - we''re not short of a player who can ping a good pass about. End of rant.
19. Firstly - I''ve got to say I''m a little excited about AN''s appointment. From hearing things like NCFC have had scouts at all Accies matches this season, to the way he seems to be regarded in the game. Hopefully we''ve got another gem of a manager. From reading Twitter it seems like he''ll be in charge on Saturday. Not sure how I feel about this, unless he is just acting as a ''figurehead'' (a constitutional manager, if you will) and Phelan and Holt have got everything worked out. Regardless - I''ll be there, and giving him my full backing! On that note, does anyone know where a decent pub is for a pre-match pint and I''m popping my club-cabbage cherry this weekend so, regulars, be gentle! OTBC
20. I can see how this would annoy people - but, as has been said, this happens all the time in other areas of retail. In fact - one of the reasons we have such big discounts/sales at retailers throughout the year is because in the UK there is no stipulation to price-match/refund customers who paid a previous, higher price. Such a system exists in Canada and elsewhere, and the result is fewer reductions and sales - leading to the ''phenomenon'' that is Black Friday. The club could have handled it better, though, I guess - especially considering how certain sections of the fanbase are feeling at the minute. Maybe half-price tickets and reduced price merchandise. Or heat up tomorrow''s pies today, and do a "Black Saturday" pie and bovril combo for a quid
21. "...and many are happy with being mid table in the championship as we are in the best financial state ever!" Yup - I''d be happy with that. Sustainable, one would think, and our club would be around forever without going bankrupt or selling out to a disinterested ''hinvestor'' looking to turn a large fortune into a small one. There would be the highs of winning, the lows of losing all combined with the excitement of ''can we do it this year''. Having said that... I''d be happier with pushing for promotion to the top flight. I''d be happier still with gaining promotion to the top flight as Champions of the second tier. I''d be downright ecstatic if we could establish ourselves as a humdrum, mid-table Premier League side I''d come over all unusual if we were to break into the top 6/8 teams in the country. I''d be sad if we got relegated :( For the protest, will you be needing one placard or two? I''ve got a mate who works in advertising - he might be able to come up with a slogan for you. Something catchy, maybe, like "I dunt like it. Neyul ent that good and Delia ent that good or rich and Norridge ent won the league yet buh"
22. @Iwan''s Big Toe - I know, management is simple right! ;)Not picked up 2015 yet, but I normally like to start as a Conference side and work my way up.My best success was with Mansfield a few years back.  Stormed the Conference, League 2 and League 1 then had a falling out with the chairman over budgets when pushing for promotion to the Premier League - you think he would have been more grateful!@Buh - just a bit of fun, do you really need to start the name calling?
23.
Lol Worthy is often spotted in the City and its always about the same time as something. :)
lol - yeah. Was definitely him though. I guess there was nothing doing at the time because a) there were no cars in the car-park at jaunty angles and b) he wasn''t carrying some shopping in an Asda bag. Did get me wondering though if he was begin quizzed over availability etc or whether he was just there for a cuppa with the board.
24. Just going to throw this into the ring.... Can''t remember the exact date, but it was just before the season started, I was walking home past the Holiday Inn and I very nearly (literally) bumped into Nigel Worthington. He was walking from the offices in the Jarrold. I think it was about the time we were looking to recruit a Director of Football type person.
25. To paraphrase Mark Knophler... "Two men say they''re binners, one of them must be wrong"* *unless they''re called Kenny and Glyn
