  1. The only sensible answer (other than getting rid of VAR entirely). Given the limitations of the technology the lines should have greater thickness to compensate.
  2. Bit of a basic error from Sainz to not hold a little, but it does look pretty marginal on that. I personally would rather see these sort of goals given.
  3. But I thought that was just Wagner's terrible white-flag-waving substitutions?
  4. I think this one was particularly galling as we were exceptionally dominant for the majority of the match and really should have been absolutely out of sight. I do understand the massive over analysis of the substitutes given the result, and it has to be said the same thing has happened several times this season, but really the team was so absolutely profligate going forwards I suspect that gave Wednesday a boost in itself. IMO Duffy should have been on immediately after we conceded that first goal. Definitely two points dropped rather than one gained, regardless of the result we would have accepted "on paper".
  5. The disappointing thing is that Leicester and Leeds are also doing their very best to bottle the top two.
  6. So much pressure on the Preston game now. Still, at least we've been absolutely solid away from home.
  7. We had at least two absolutely clear opportunities after that and god knows how many before. Not sure the subs can be blamed for not winning the match today.
  8. Massive for the playoffs, and we all thought he would be necessary for the derby. Very good man management by the medical team.
  9. I bet there is a bit of sickness after that result though.
  10. There really are some absolutely cringeworthy posts on this thread. 6 games to go and all to play for, even given the fact our two best attacking players, and arguably our two best defensive players, have been out for long periods of time this season. Get a grip, and enjoy the ride because I have no doubt there will be at least one twist between now and the end of the season.
  11. Well clearly "most definitely" is wholly the wrong choice of phrase, as has been vindicated by the phenomenal improvement since Webber departed, which has been at least as good as you would expect with an excellent managerial replacement. I do get it though - it is a common theme: (Farke's first season anyone?) people became very anti-Wagner, felt he was responsible for our poor performances, and should have gone, and now getting fully behind him would be the equivalent of admitting this was the wrong call. This isn't something many people seem to be able to do. Interesting you use the term "recent results", as I would like to know how you define this? According to NN we are averaging the magic 2 PPG for the last half a season. If you think about it, that is actually wholly remarkable considering the tragic run of injuries we have sustained to key players.
  12. One interpretation is that xG is just another useful statistic, the importance of which is hugely overstated by some people who see it as the gospel truth. The other interpretation is that Gunn is actually a very good goalkeeper.
  13. Didn't see too many people expecting Rowe to achieve what he has this season.
  14. Considering current form that seems crazy.
  15. Absolutely all over them, but absolutely unlike us to be so wasteful in front of goal. Fancy us to come out and score a few in the second half however, Sainz looking electric today.
  16. I personally think it's less down to the anthem itself, and more to do with the fact it's generally looked down upon to have a strong English national identity these days, especially following Brexit. When some people, some of the media and/or politicians, generally consider flying the Cross of St George to be an indicator of someone being a bigot or worse it's hardly surprising some people no longer feel a particular sense of pride at being English?
  17. I think Stuart Webber needs to have a word given the success he has had with a lot of our younger players.
  18. Yes, I'm sure we can all recall the most recent 29-0 result we've seen.
  19. Great post, i can tell a huge amount of thought and research went into it.
  20. I think he stayed behind the ball pretty comfortably, it was actually not a great ball from Sainz though!
  21. Absolutely instrumental today, along with Mr McLean.
  22. Wagner's doing great now though isn't he?
