  1. Really great news and delivered with a clear message about how important it is we stay up this season. and I detected a hint that we all need to give the new Manager a bit more time to settle...something I agree with totally.
  2. .....and here we go again with yet another anti CH post making something out of nothing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with anything CH has said here, it''s just typical pre match praise up the opposition statements that the overwhelming majority, if not all Managers make when asked about the opposition. As for the 0-3 result, yes of course this could happen, and City will have to be at their best to stop it happening (it could happen even if we are at our best), and be exceptional to get anything out of the game.....that''s fact, and if we get the Arsenal I have witnessed so far this season, even against a City playing well, they will probably beat us convicingly..........just like they will many of the other teams in this division this year.......it will have NOTHING to do with CH''s pre match comments.
  3. Thats funny ATPW as I''m sure that''s why I am ignored on here or, if not ignored, told I dont know what I am talking about. That''s despite having been a supporter now for something like 45 years, been a season ticket holder for at least 25 of those, travelled away many many times etc..until I came to Dubai eight years ago, and even now I bust a gut to get to a game at Carru Rud whenever I am back in Norfolk. You see, you can take the boy out of Norwich, but you cant take Norwich out of the boy....OTBC
  4. You should be happy, the team is looking more balanced this season and is also playing more as a team, despite what some say, Wenger knows what he is doing, very clever man and Manager.
  5. GingerPele sums it up nicely........as for the term "happy clappers", I need to ask where did it come from, and exactly what does it mean? It only seems to be used on here. I thought that everyone who follows Norwich City regardless of them being a Member, Season Ticket holder, occasional supporter or TV viewer ALL fall into the category of being a Norwich City SUPPORTER....and we all have different views and certainly see the games very differently at times, but are still supporters of our great club....''kin happy clappers my @rse...OTBC
  6. Yet another thread purely designed to encourage the slagging of Chris Hughton. Some of you really need to take a look at yourselves, take a reality tablet is respect of Norwich City and at the very least give him enough time before sticking the knife in as though he has committed some serious crime against society.
  7. It''s flown by, they were great days that I will remember for ever. It''s also a reminder on just how things can change so quickly, the extreme highs as a supporter at Milan and Munich very quickly turned to a miserable relegation season the following year and a miserable 16th position in Division One the season after that.
  8. Is a secret handshake part of being in the Inner Circle? I can think of a good shake for them, but it comes more from the wrist! OTBC
  9. Would be a good signing, clearly we are short of back-up in this area of the field since Kane''s injury and he would add something different.
  10. Whilst agreeing we could have played better a couple of times this season, the thing I dont get, is peoples recollection of how we played last season. I can certainly remember several mediocre performances when the team really didnt look up for it, and at least two terrible performances where we were lucky that the scoreline flattered us or, where the opposition didnt take their chances or also had an off day. The difference is, we got the rub of the green a few times more times last season and everyone had their PL tinted glasses on (me included!).
  11. This season I have seen all our games live on tv here and also all of Arsenal''s, plus many others. Based on what I have seen, "if" City play the way we did at Tottenham (a game I was at...makes a change), then we do have a chance of getting something out of this game......it''s a slim chance though and that''s not being negative, just realistic, but we do certainly have a chance. However, the problem is, that Arsenal are in my opinion close to being the best team in the league at present on performances I have seen, not points won, along with Chelsea. These teams are capable, on there day, of tonking the majority of the other teams outside of the top four or five sides, either home or away.....and we are like the majority of the other teams in the league unfortunately, capable of being tonked by one of the top four or five teams.....something many on here really dont get. So, we do have a chance of a surprise, our team is better than many are making out, as is our Manager, and Arsenal will certainly be taking us seriously.
  12. Now that''s a good post, thanks LDC! Sure, it could be better, but it could also be a lot worse. I often say that the gap between success and failure in the Premier League, hero to zero, is very thin...and this season to date for City really demonstrates that. We are competing in what is almost a three league within a league competition. Last season, we were, in my view, slightly fortunate to finish in the second group of teams when a finish in the top part of the third group we would have been very satisfied with.  Likewise, this season, the dreaded second season, and after all that happened at the club during the summer a similar objective of being 17th or slightly higher at the end of the season will be another fantastic achievement. To judge CH and his team as negatively as some are already doing after so few games is totally unrealistic and not the behaviour of a true fan, those doing this need to look at our neighbours in Suffolk to see what can happen to a club of a similar size to ours ,then ask themselves just how well are we doing?.......the answer is actually VERY WELL despite a slightly disappointing start to the season...OTBC!!
  13. I actually believe that just about every Premier League team will take the occasional heavy defeat, just ask Man U and Arsenal about what happened to them last season. Several sides, like us, will take a few more tonkings than others perhaps against the bigger teams, but it''s over the season when the points are counted that matters.  Also just for the record in respect of the myth that Stoke do not concede more than 1 or 2............ 2011-2012 0-4 at Sunderland 0-5 at Bolton 0-3 at Man City 0-3 at Newcastle 1-3 at Arsenal 1-3 home Newcastle
  14. Its simple, both Laudrup and Hughton need more time, they have only been in place for a handfull of competitive matches......oh and they need solidarity from all at their respective clubs and for the fans to show some patience and understanding of the situation they both inherited. As for PL''s man management........from outside looking in, I always got the impression that this came from Cully and not PL, hence they are a team and move from club to club together.
  15. I have watched every minute of each game this season, as I did last, and cannot see how people can think we are playing negatively or defensively. The stats certainly show we are creating a good number of chances and with just a touch more luck we would have had at least a couple of wins under our belt already. The bottom line is, that it was always going to be a much tougher season than last, regardless  of the formation, even with a slightly stronger squad. It may have been a little less tough if we hadnt had the change of management team, but....they walked away.....with one reason probably linked to knowing how tough it would be and not wanting to spoil their CV, I reckon thats probably close to the mark with PL. So, our new....and they are still very new, management team have a big challenge ahead of them and for the most part have handled the season well to date....other than that little bit of luck needed.....we certainly got heaps of it last year......but people have short memories. Sure CH has made a couple of mistakes, all Managers make mistakes, but his CV certainly shows that he has the skill set to get us through this....but I would think he could do with a few people getting of his back this early in the season.
  16. This is just the type of question that should be asked on a message board, thanks Wiz, better than naming your team for the next match or slagging off the next scape coat when results are not going our way. I dont know how good people think McNasty is to be honest, but I see someone who has stamped some authority on the club and under who''s leadership the club has done lots more right than wrong. The club is a business and he certainly handles it that way, and I really think the days of being a cosy little club are over and he manages it that way, which is a good thing when we have the more, shall we say, "fluffy kitten" approach from Delia and Michael....although I guess there could well be a hard edge there too.  But, that said, our great club is more, much more than just one man and many people play their part in the decision making I''m sure, which was probably the case with the pricing for the Spurs match.  Finally, perhaps a little controversially, I''m not sure that Doomcaster was as bad as people would like to think, but that''s probably a subject for another day. It''s like anything in football, the line betwen success and failure is so thin and hero can go to zero almost overnight.....
  17. I''m am sure that this will have no effect on the players at all and would guess they already knew about it anyway. However, the biggest impact on the players confidence this season will be just like previous times when the going has been a little tough........those supporters who turn so quickly and who start to slag of the team and individuals when they should infact get behind them and help the team through the difficult times.
  18. Nice, a positive thread........City certainly have a chance of getting something out of this game today and anything would be a bonus in the bigger scale of things......the games against the top five or six for us will always be where bonus points are picked up and if that doesnt happen satisfaction comes from putting in a good performance and running the big boys close...I really dont think we are as bad as some are making out... OTBC
  19. Basically, despite two or three bits of bad defending City were not as bad as many are saying last week and Chelsea are not good enough to score  9 against us, but like many of the top teams they can turn over any side in this league on their day, but 9 dont think so. Let''s start being positive i.e. a performance like City put in at Spurs could well see us coming away from the Bridge with a point
  20. exactly shefcanary, good honest comments from Holt and 100% correct regarding not being called up for those friendlies!
  21. For me,the subject matter sums up this board the majority of the time..... Why not simply be a NORWICH CITY SUPPORTER! Within this grouping all of the following are entitled to call themselves a Norwich City Supporter..... - Season Ticket Holder...for however many years - Away Season Ticket Holder - Corporate Hospitality customer - Member - Super Member - Casual supporter who cant afford a regular ticket - Those who can''t afford a ticket at all but follow the club from home through the media - Regular message board posters, occasional message board posters and those who dont give a sht about message boards - Those who used to be a regular or occasional visitor to Carrow Road but now can''t go for whatever reason yet still follow the club  .......even those who are ex-pats, watch every game live home & away and can only get to a home or away match on an occasional basis, having been a Season Ticket holder for 30 years previously...oh, that''s me :-) All of these people are one group following one club and all are entitled to having an opinion, moaning a bit if they want etc etc In respect of our great club, it''s actually not much different to this time last season in reality, struggling to get results going, Holt only on one goal, tough matches ahead.....about the only difference is that this season many fans are not giving the Manager and his team a chance to settle.....and we are further in the League Cup (or whatever it is called these days) unlike previous seasons when we appeared not to want to progress in a Cup...and have a slightly stronger squad. It''s going to be a tough season, surely we all knew that, so let''s get used to it and ALL keep 100% behind the Management and Team....you know "supporting" them! OTBC
  22. I had presumed this and the same for Villa, so no real surprise. It does look like this was a really messy parting, just like many divorces! Unfortunately, this will drag on and have some negative effect on our club until it''s over which is a shame because PL is now in our history and shouldnt still be making the headlines in the local press.
  23. From some of the other post match subject headings, this will be the only post match post I shall read as I just know that your report will be a decent read and fair, which it is. I too thought exactly the same when I saw the team, was actually shocked Holt in particular wasnt starting and also thought Hoolahan was suited for this match. After what I thought were four pretty decent defensive displays, this was just the opposite, sure we missed Bassong big time but I thought the back four were all shocking to be honest. Barnett without Bassong is a different player, Turner is a similar type of player to Ward so it was obvious (wasnt it CH?) that he would end up with the same end result against Suarez, Garrido played like he was on drugs and I really dont think one of my favourites Russell Martin had much of a game either. The midfield for some reason looked like they hadnt played together before, very odd, and offered little protection to the back four despite Bradley''s efforts. Up front I actually thought Jackson when he was given the ball caused problems, the opposite to Morison....but he notched which I guess made it the right decision. Chuffed Holt scored...as he will do throught this very challenging season....if he that is. Anyway, I am so disappointed because I really thought that was an average Liverpool side (yes, Im serious) who we stood off and let play. Hving also watched the Arsenal and Manure matched today, I am now changing my mind about how we should play, and really now feel that we should play one up front wherever possible and would like to see Hoolahan start behind Holty, this is despite my criticism of this formation previously. OTBC, sure its going to be a tough season..........we''ve known that all along....and are in for a hell of a ride....OTBC
  24. Agree with Gingerpele, CH has done little wrong to date. As for this match, our luck will turn very soon, as other than not getting off the coach at Fulham this City team has already proved to me by their performances that they are better than last season. I am expecting a change of fortune today against what is a decent Liverpool side regardless of how many points they have. Would really be fantastic if Holt notches a goal today, preferably that wins us the game as to be honest I''m getting fed up with the newly formed "let''s knock Grant Holt club"!
  25. This could well be a case of be careful what you wish for as the problems with Blackburn are clearly more related to the owners compounded by the negative atmosphere created by the so called fans. Whoever comes in will have to work with their Director of Football Shebby Singh and any quality Manager worth his salt would tell Shenky''s to stuff their job...preferably sage & oinion of course!
