1.
People going shopping; chucking the clothes they don''t like on the floor; they''ve got money; they''re going to buy something; they''ve got as much rigth to be there as other shoppers; so sod them.
But people seem to love Primark..
 2. According to Google Fry is currently more popular than Kate, Ian, and Richard. He''s way behind Johnny and Tom, but on a par with Zellweger. So an A-list UK celebrity and maybe a C-list global celebrity?
 3. Just watched Lambert''s interview at http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_div_2/8617895.stmAlthough his voice remains fairly unemotional, he seems to almost break into a guge grin after every sentence. Maybe its just me projecting though..wooo! Well done NC! [:)][:)][:)]
 4. Without a hint of irony the Leeds fan writes about the terrible state of modern football:"people watching the game-little kids with face paint on, sexy looking women, old codgers, all races, all ages, everything and anyone...they wanted clean, modern, "friendly" stadiums...they wanted happy smiling faces, lots of colour, noise, fireworks, music after goals, they wanted risk free entertainment...and that is what they got, and that is what the game has become. "...and compares it to the glorious past:"Is the game ever going to go back to being packed tight on a filthy terrace, a crowd that is almost exclusively bolkes aged 16-50''ish, white, working class, content to piss down their programme and onto the terrace?"what a load of bolkes. The risk-free society he denounces is caused by seeing litigation as a source of income. Going to watch 22 people play a game of football should be risk free. If these 16-50 year olds need risk then sign-up and get on a plane to Afghanistan, although I presume the army wants people with a modicum of self-discipline.
 5. Also from the article - “It''s flattering to be linked with Championship clubs" - we''re not there yet Marc, but the 3 points certainly help [;)]
 6. It may also have helped us that our reputation was destroyed on the opening day. It was all over the press just how badly we were beaten, and this must have affected how other teams saw us. We were no longer a "huge ex-Championship scalp" to other teams in the division if Colchester could beat us 7-1 at home. That may be wearing off now with the recent hammerings of other teams.
 7. You might get more readers if your weblog button worked..it currently points to http://www.pinkun.com/content/columns/thechirp.aspx which leads nowhere.
 8.
On the other hand, Delia needs to go. Norwich City Football Club is not a team that should be in the third tier, especially when there are teams like Wigan in the Premiership, who couldn''t get 26,000 at home to Chelsea nevermind Colchester.
Getting 26,000 at home when in the third tier..when you put it like that you make her sound like a genius!
 9. Is that Vince who made up half of the Frasier and Vince DJing duo at the Waterfront in the late 90s?!
 10. Lots of rumour and speculation on this player at this link[;)]
 11. Hands up all those who said yes and were ready to lynch Jonathan Ross and Russel Brand...[:S]
 12. Football management is 80% man management and 20% tactics. Or maybe 70-30.Now nearly all Championship teams use loan players then contacts with Premiership clubs probably makes up 10% of whether a manager is a success or not. Having Ferguson call you personally before your first game in charge is surely a big help in this..Also from Wikipedia (!):In February 2007, Gunn moved back into Football becoming ''Club liaison'' for NCFC. He will be involved in discussions over possible transfers and loan signings, giving the Manager more time with the first team squad.Does this mean he could have been involved with the signings of Clingan and Hoolahan? Can''t see any harm in letting him have a few more games to show the last result wasn''t a fluke.
 13.
You''ve just named twenty teams who''ve been in the prem, add us and the twenty currently in that league and you''re up to 41 teams and several of those have been up more than once.Surely with at least that many teams getting a slice of the premiership pie it must be more of an open shop than you and purple would have us believe? It''s not exactly the same three teams getting promoted/relegated each year is it?
Every Premiership season bar one has seen a newly promoted team relegated. Even if a team manages to stay up how many are still there two years later? It is hardly going to greatly improve their 30 year average league position.
 14. While we may have had an advantage in the two years following relegation, we''ve had a disadvantage for all the other years. Teams in the Championship that have played in the Premiership since its creation:Southampton, Coventry, Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton, Derby, Forest, Ipswich, QPR, Birmingham, Palace, Sheffield Utd, Reading, Watford, Barnsley, WolvesThat''s 15 of our rivals that have had an advantage at some point (did parachute payments start when the Premiership was created?). Teams that have played in the Premiership and really messed up...Leeds, Wimbledon, Leicester, Oldham, Bradford, Swindon
 15. When he came on against Forest he completely changed the game. We looked toothless before, and forced two goals after. He''s been injured for most of his time so far. Maybe Lupoli will play more now he has a partner up front. Lita was great but was normally up front on his own. Perhaps that is the reason Lupoli hasn''t had a game recently? He can''t play the lone striker role and Sibierski has been out injured. More likely than Roeder having an irrational hatred of him..
 16.
Continue for how long? Haven''t you noticed official attendance figures are noticably higher than attendances recently? Can you see us pushing 25k next year? How many out the 25k go to see Delia and how many for the match? The fact remains that football attendance in this division has seen a national average increase of approx 50% over this period. This is not the work of Delia Smith but a change in the demographic oif football supporters as Clubs became nicer and safer places to visit.Average league position 1997-present = 30thYour tenuous attempt at discrediting the facts has failed. It appears our ''Golden Era'' lasted a lot longer than you thought only ending when Delia Smith took over. This ''fact'' is of course proven by our placings following the 1974 relegation, and our 1981 relegation and our 1985 relegation aren''t they?
So the increase in attendances shown by your stats have nothing to do with the board, yet the league position statistics are entirely the board''s fault? The gulf between the Premiership since its creation and the league below has nothing to do with it?
 17.
Go here. Link to attendance figures for leaguesAnd you will see that on average attendances increased by approx 50% in this division over that period. Our attendance increased slightly more than 50% in that period but the starting point was artificially lower than our then ''average'' gate due to relegation and discontent with the tail end of the Chase regime, go back just 18 months prior to that and we were averaging nearly 20,000 so the 14k figure was a temporary low point.Any comment on the figures which show we''ve slipped from an average 15th to average 30th ranked team under Delia?
If you continued your graphs then Ipswich and Charlton would both have dipping attendances, but Norwich''s would continue. According to http://itv.stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/attend.html we have the best attendance ratio amongst all our peers. The 15th to 30th average ranked team is comparing the last 12 years against the "golden age" of Norwich City, with our best ever league finish and UEFA cup run. What is our overall ranking for the last 30 years? The ranking cannot be seen as continuous from one league to another. To get from 21st to 20th requires a promotion from the Championship. Once you drop below 20th in your system it is very hard to get the average back up.
 18. Its no good arguing against something by making things up..In interests of fairness..
no she hasn''t in fact she has presided over serial underinvesment which is likely to cause the club to go bust
Likely to go bust? Underinvestment in the club or certain aspects of it? You may not agree how investment was spent, but there has been investment (the Jarrold stand, the hotel, restaurants etc.)
no she hasn''t, she stands to make a profit once we finally get rid of her
Does she stand to make a profit? We''ll only find out when her shares are sold.
average crowds have nothing to do with Delia
Really? The club policy of getting season ticket holders and families in isn''t an active decision of the board?
now rated by many as a laughing stock, before she took over we were in the top flight and beating the likes of Arsenal etc, now we can''t compete with the likes of Burnley, Preston and Swansea.
Rated by many? At the time she took over we were 16th in the same league we are in now.
the club has business interests that fail to provide any kind of transfer kitty, we can''t even raise funds to buy our own players, we are a laughing stock.
I''d agree with this at the moment, but if the financial crisis hits football hard then these activities may be able to give us an advantage in the transfer market and keep us running.
the stadium, although it has been redeveloped has still fallen way behind many of our rivals and it''s capacity would be way too small if we were a succesful club, the City stand would be more appropriate for a Div 1 club, mind you that''s where we are heading with complacent posters like you sticking up for the current regime.
If we went up and needed more capacity there would be a new tier built on the Jarrold stand. Foresight? Is the City stand really that bad? It seems good enough for the owners.
 19.
Ipswich fans I have the missfortune to do business with, love Delia Smith being here you turnip and not for good reasons, it gives them more ammunition.
Not as much ammunition as their own chairman provides though...[6]
 20. Is he hated for his personality or for his methods and results?Alex Ferguson is widely detested by most non-Man Utd fans, and Wenger gets more annoying daily. But if they get the results then their own supporters are happy.
 21.
I suspect the: ''you don''t know what you''re doing'' chant when he brought Matty Patty off really got to Roeder - hence his comments.
Which ironically was the decision that got the team playing again and kind of proved his point..
 22.
Well we won''t be seeing Spillane or Martin back, they are wanted at Luton on a three year deal, My info is top notch.
Didn''t Martin get a pretty decent contract last year from Grant after his run of goals?
 23.
The report also notes a surplus on transfer activity in 2007/8 of £3,465,000.  Under "post balance sheet events" it states that this summer''s transfers involved a net spend of £400,000 (Stefanovic, Hoolahan and Bell in, Shackell out).  I know that the debt has to be paid, but the club has reinvested not much more than 10% of the transfer surplus in this season''s squad.
Investing in the squad isn''t just paying transfer fees, it is paying the playing staff. With all the loanees there will have been associated costs to bring them here, plus higher wages than the players they have replaced. Do we have a bigger squad this year? Is the wage bill higher this season?
 24. Chelsea are £619m in debt, Man Utd £650m, and Liverpool £350m with £30m interest to pay a year?! The directors of those clubs must be considering cashing in on players now before the player market collapses. Who will pay £30m for someone if there are no other clubs competing for the signature? Its not just England - Valencia are heading towards bankruptcy. Maybe all the loan players were brought in as Doncaster predicted this. We can halve our wage bill within a month [:D]NCFC get criticism for losing money after selling players and being in the Premiership, but those clubs have been in the Champions League and Premiership for years..
 25. Attractive football implies the team is playing well, cutting through the opposition with passing, and creating chances. Much rather this than lumping the ball into the box from the halfway line - teams will soon figure you out, even if it brings a brief upturn in results.
