1. starting against Italy is one that will probably produce a draw because neither side will want to lose.   Then it will come downt to beating Uruguay to get through, assuming everyone beats CR.  It''s not going to be easy.   Probably knocked out in QFs I expect.
2.
Norwich4life, I think you should have a long hard look at your Winston Churchill avatar, then read your post again and decide whether the tone of your post reflects the tone of your avatar. After that, you can disappear from this message board for good.
And not return under another user name.    Now, that would make me feel optimistic !
3. Yeah, I''m with ZLF on this one.  It''s clearly a gamble by the Board to go for an inexperienced manager.  At the same time, the other managerial candidates all had major question marks against them and there was no obvious alternative that would have ticked all the boxes.   So we go with what we have, as you say by mid-Aug we''ll know what''s happening with the squad and after 10 games or so we''ll be able to come to our first judgment on how it is working out.   Some of the over-reactions on this board are ridiculous.  So, business as usual on the pinkun MB then....
4. Well clearly experience in management wasn''t a "given" for Adams being appointment.  In the same way that it wasn''t when Spurs appointed Sherwood.  And before anyone says that didn''t work out for them, it was probably as successful as any Spurs management appointment since Redknapp left them.
5. Exactly the sort of player you want to avoid when you''re trying to get promoted from the Championship.  Wouldn''t be bothered and would undermine the spirit in the squad.
6. It''s all about opinions - personally my heart would sink, he''s exactly the sort of player who''d think he was too good for the Championship and would put in no effort.
7. Seriously people need to remember there are a lot more games in the Champ than in the Prem - often it feels like you''re playing mid-week most of the time.  You can''t have someone as your main striker and think that position is sorted.  That''s why Lambert brought in Wilbraham in the first place and it was that squad depth which was crucial in getting promoted....   As for comparing players from our squad when we won promotion from the Championship to a goalkeeper who had one disastrous appearance for us in League 1 - yes, what a sensible comparison.
8. He''s always struck me as the rich man''s Steve Morison.
9. Wasn''t he a squad player last time we got promoted from the Championship or is my memory failing me?   I could see him and Hooper together being a pretty effective goal threat in the Champ.
10. You see the button with "Caps Lock" written on it.  You are allowed to PRESS IT and then press it again.  See - I just did.
11. I think GK is a position where we are strong.  I wouldn''t mind too much if we sell Ruddy for a big fee.  We could go with Bunn/Rudd competing for first choice and get a 3rd string GK as cover, then reinvest the money elsewhere.   If no-one offers us big money for Ruddy, we''re fine as we are.
12. I guess the only relevance is to the perpetual "Foreign owner" discussion. The one thing that caught my attention on the news was that apparently he never set foot inside Old Trafford.    So ideally qualified to own Man U then....
13. How long before LC is banned and returns under another name ?
14. With the owners being publicly unhappy with the signings last summer when we spent a record amount, it''s not hard to speculate on why he''s leaving.  If he is staying for the summer and we make a few sensible signings I don''t think we can complaining.
15. Transfer fees depend heavily on how much time a player had left on his contract so it''s meaningless to say X went for a lot more than Y. Just look at what we paid for Snoddy compared to heat Leeds originally wanted, When a player has less than a year to go the price drops sharply.
16. I''d imagine you''d be used to mid table mediocrity in the Champ at 1p5wich by now Waveney.
17. Pilks has been good when fit but often injured. If he wants out the Keith O''neill comparison is spot on. With Wes if he''s not willing to get back into things then again we may as well get a bit for him and look to the future.
18. Yeah, the Champ is always a tough division to get out of. Looks pretty average to me but certainly won''t be easy. Any team going down thinking they''ll stroll it will be in for a shock.
19. I remember that one well, great to see Hucks at his peak again. Looking forward to a trip to Rotherhams new stadium next season Up the M1 and a nice easy trip for me.
20. Made me chuckle Andy.... But I think your Uncorrected version is better.
21. The OP is a troll who only posts to cause mischief, this thread is a perfect example.
22. I''d find it hugely entertaining if they get Hughton...
23.
I will be making merry on this Board all summer after this hapless decision. Mcnasty out stowmarket 2 out Messiah back
And, speak of the devil, as it were...
24. "Embarassing" sums up a lot of the posts on this forum recently.  Many of them by newly-registered posters.....
