If Emi leaves in January or end of season
Jersey Canary replied to Midlands Yellow's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Neither, if we get promoted he’ll stay another season. -
The table as it stands

That’s not quite right. We have the option to purchase Quintilla and Gibson if we get promoted. Skipp may well come back for a season in the PL on loan. Rupp was played out of position in the PL and as we have seen this season he has been a revelation. Sorensen is yet to play in his correct position and is a ready made upgrade on what I have seen so far on McLean. There is always going to be some turnover of players. Some because they have outgrown Norwich and others because they have come up short. -
“We need to buy another Center back!!!”

Players in different positions mature at different times. CB & GK being a good example so 22 in my view for a CB is still in learning mode. -
I think the ongoing progression of our loan players and UK based scouting is down to his hard work. He would be a massive loss if he ever left.
-
What I’ve seen of Idah this season he looks like he can do with a season on loan at Sunderland or somewhere to acclimatise to men’s football. He looks out of his depth at the moment.
-
Who know’s with a bit of coaching from Cameron Jerome, CM might have a blinding season and may make a late claim to be a Norwich player. Fingers crossed.
-
I did notice his 100mph tracking back for 100m which was great to see. That shows he’s aware of things around him. I’ve not seen anything plus or minus of the minutes he’s had apart from that. I wait with anticipation to see more in due course.

As a McGovern worrier, I have to be fair and say he played well yesterday. But this goes back to my original point that if you bombard Norwich McGovern struggles. Sheff Weds surprisingly didn’t bombard us as much as I was expecting which played into ours and McGovern’s hands.
-
If we get promoted this season and Brentford don’t, I would like us to break the bank and buy Ivan Toney. What do you think? Toney and Pukki our two rotating strikers. It might give us a fighting chance of survival and bit of guarantee of bouncing back if you go down or another saleable asset. What do you think?

McGovern is a good shot stopper which makes him ideal for International football. However, in the Championship there are far more aerial balls and the game is quicker and more physical. This is where McGovern struggles.
-
Does anyone know if Barden is good with the ball at his feet and playing out from the back? Likewise is he very commanding of his area? If so I’d put him in on Saturday. McGovern is not good enough for the way we play.

It’s amazing what effect not having Krul and Pukki has. Massive loss. McGovern is awful. -

We’re too slow around most of the pitch. -
We’re too weak. Too lightweight up front.

Mean while at Portman road

Lambert’s definitely taking one for the team. His stamina must be immense! 😂 -
I read today that Farke had job opportunities in the UK as well as Germany. I remember a link to Bayer Leverkusen but I don’t remember any British clubs. Does anyone else remember who that might be?
-
I’d go for the following: McGovern Rupp/Aarons, Hanley, Gibson, Sorensen Tettey, Skipp Shemi/Emi, Emi/Stiepermann Martin Pukki/Stiepermann Subs Zimmermann Shemi Vrancic two strikers Nizet Barden
-
If Sheff Utd do go down I wouldn’t mind taking Berge off their hands. A giant of a midfielder seems to have something about him in the DM/M role. Maybe Tettey could give Farke the full SP on his fellow countryman. He looks class from what I’ve seen of him.

I was watching the EFL highlights and I was curious what life was like in Div 1. I pinched my nose and watched the Ipswich highlights. What made me laugh was the feeble attempt at defending from Woolfenden (twice) who’s supposedly Town’s most saleable asset. He reminded me of how Cantwell would be if we played him at CB. Feeble in the challenge and got caught delicately dribbling out of the box resulted in two goals. 2-0 loss. 7 losses in 10. It doesn’t get any better than that. 😂

Finally, some words from Stuart Webber.

If we get promoted it’s in the contract that we purchase Gibson for £6m if memory serves me. Same with Quintilla we are to buy him if we get promoted too. -
Poor old Ipswich. Even the fans look board stiff

I always said that Culverhouse was the brains behind Lambert's success as it was evident that as soon as Culverhouse left Villa Lambert's career went down the toilet as well.....and funny enough he ends up at Portaloo Road. -
Are we a better team now than the 2018/19 one?
Jersey Canary replied to Mullet's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
A very good appraisal. What I would add is if Norwich got promoted I would have thought Spurs would be happy to let us have Skipp for another season. First team football at a higher level, that’s got to be tempting for Jose. -
To be fair as harsh as the decision was the 1 game rest will do Emi good. It will set him up for the Christmas rush of games. Luckily it's Coventry and not Bournemouth or Watford for our next game.
