1. I''m afraid you''re wrong 1st. There are circumstances bookies have inside info and odds will reflect that, horse racing can be a prime example. Football matches specifically, bookies will calculate win percentages and then adjust odds based on betting patterns. To calculate wine percentages various factors are taken into account, including form, position, previous match history. I am of course simplifying the whole thing, while betting patterns play a huge part in determining odds, it is one factor in complicated algorithms.
2. This is my choice of managing teams now, Park has made some great signings and im not too fussed between Malky and Lennon, but i expect Lennon could persuade Hooper to stay and perhaps even Snoddy
3. What was the fake twitter account? Lennon now favourite and Malky second followed by Zola. Lennon has moved from 3rd favourite to 1st today. Odds are determined by a complex algorithm taking into account many aspect including betting patterns and bookie knowledge. I imagine with Lennon that big money has been put on to him today to move him down to 4-7 (bet £7 win £4), whereas two days ago if you bet £1 you would win £8 back
4. Wow, Lennon has gone down, i got my money on a couple of days ago at 8-1
5. Not fussed either way about this one. Would be a good championship player. Doubt there would be any interest from the prem, distinctly average prem standard but injury prone.
6. I''ve always like the sound of Zola but it''s a risky move, i wouldn''t take it, plenty of safer options out there. Monty can you explain what part of his CV is equal to/better than Malky or Lennon. No champions league football, no trophies and no promotions to the Prem or premier league experience.
7.
Priceyrice, we have two seats in the Jarrold, Block L, pretty much three rows behind you. It''s fairly central and a good view. Whether the three rows nearer the pitch that you are would make a difference I don''t know, but I''d guess they''re pretty good seats, as they ought to be for the money. We''re looking to move, but only because my wife is not tall and the people who sit in front are huge.
Thanks Mirror, that''s useful to know, hopefully the few rows won''t make a huge difference. Looking forward to cheaper away days!
8. Finally got a couple of season tickets last week having been on the waiting list for over two years. I used to sit upper Barclay, first row, was a lovely view and extra leg space! Now got tickets in Jarrold, Block L - Row C 134 and C135 - anyone know exactly where this is. I''m assuming fairly central and towards the front - bit worried it''s a bit too close to the pitch. Also how much do you get for buy-backs, living in leeds it will be hard to attend all the games Thanks
9. I agree 100%. Can''t think of a better suited championship manager.
10. Thought this game would be on BT, can''t see it though, assuming Wiziwig the way to fo?
11. I think Fer has struggled with the pace of the premier league while being in a weak team. Obviously has quality and will be a much better player next season in a better team. No chance of him staying
12. Just gutted as an exile that i can''t plastic it up and watch online, should be more opportunities for away days though! Still hoping 3 points may be enough
13. I will start my post by saying overall McNally as done a fantastic job here and should not get the boot, we are still in a strong financial position and relegation should not cause the same issues it did back in 2005. However, the board and McNally need to admit to their mistakes over the past two seasons and cut their bonuses accordingly with an internal inquest carried out. I don''t think anyone can blame the board for keeping Hughton on after finishing 11 last season, however i would have hoped the position we finished would be seen for what it was, relatively lucky, if not for two crazy games at the end of the season we would not have been in such a lofty position - i think this ''false'' position resulted in Hughton having more time this season than he should have. Going into this season the board should have told Hughton that after a £30m outlay on players performances had to improve, it shouldn''t have been enough to flirt just outside the bottom 3. Unfortunately, almost every fan could see they wern''t improving and we were once again in a ''false'' position in the league due to our final run-in, which has proved as problematic as any sane person could have predicted. Ultimately, it appears as if the board were lulled into another false sense of security this season, as they had been with the previous seasons final position. The refusal by the board to spend any money last January was a big gamble, but ultimately we got lucky and it paid off. To then throw your chips in again and not spend any money when our position seemed even more precarious this January has been catastrophic. There were two choices in Jan; trust in Hughton and give him some money, or don''t trust him with any more money and bring in a replacement. Instead the board did neither and we see the result of that today.
14. I would follow Hull''s example. Players who having something to prove, in some cases established prem experience, and also good technical players who have been on the fringe at some bigger clubs. The who world was crying out for us to sign Davies and Huddlestone last year, Long would have been nice too!
15. Oh and Shelvey''s goal puts Rooney''s goal this season to shame!
16. Yeah i watched it last night with the Mrs. Having both gone to the game she was shocked with the first half highlights, not even a clip of the disallowed goal (i had guessed pre-MOTD we wouldn''t see our goal, didn''t fit in with their pre-written script!) - would have been nice to see as at the game it was very difficult to see why the ref blew. Hansen made a quick mention we played well for the first 40 minutes but that was about it.
17. City 2nd, you make a good point. I would like to hope the club would never give someone an appearance clause in their contract, but this situation seems very fishy!
18. Just said the same on another thread. It has confused me for most of the season this desire to play Hooper one game and RVW the next, even more so after scoring - must be an appearance clause in his contract
19. I think we have Butler and one of the best games i have seen football wise from Norwich in the Prem; Swansea away when we won 4 3, i remember the beautiful football which almost resulted in a goal when Johnson hit the bar with the flick chip, think all Leeds boys were playing that day - a quick check shows they were. I think these three our our best/most consistent performers. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20564616
20. Unfortunately my patience has ran out with this guy. His price tag has saved him from even more abuse IMO; people are still hoping he can live up and justify that huge outlay, but as more games go past it is starting to look less and less likely. I appreciate he didn''t have much of an opportunity to impress today but the one time he did get the ball in space with good attacking options he looked absolutely clueless, and as every city fan at the game expected, ran straight into a defender. His attitude at being substituted is not helping him either. I am starting to wonder if there''s a clause in his contract regarding appearances when he''s fit enough to play, how he started after Hooper finally scored last week blows my mind, couple that with some other starts he''s been given this season and i really struggle to see why both Hughton and Adams have stuck with him.
21. He was brilliant with the fans today, loved how he started a song off!
22. One of the great mysteries of the season. He can be our best player and has had some fantastic games against the big boys in the past two seasons, i don''t get it. I expect a deal must be in place for him to leave already come the summer. Bet the clubs feel stupid not cashing in when Liverpool came swooping.
23. Cheers for the help guys, seems the problem was you must have purchased a ticket in the last 5 seasons, unfortunately i use family tickets for games so was an issue. All sorted by using their customer numbers instead. Seems a bit backwards though, if i cannot buy tickets myself then how will i ever be able to start accumulating games on my account. Oh well! Any suggestions for pubs and parking?
24. Wondering if anyone can help, i am having a slight issue trying to purchase 2 tickets for saturday. I have two registered accounts and two customer numbers as only one ticket can be purchased per customer, but i am unable to checkout and get he following message: Manchester United v Norwich City is only available to customers who have purchased the correct pre-requisite products. Anyone else had similar issues or knows what it means, i can''t see any pre-requisite products mentioned. Thanks in advance for any help
