1. God forbid the couple of thousand Arsenal fans that stayed around after the game would think that the club who''ve just been relegated out of their league are tin pot...
2. I don''t think Ruddy will go. I think he likes it here. The only reason he would go is if he wanted to make the World Cup squad but playing in the Premier League next season won''t make any different to that now. I think he''ll give us at least a season to get back up. I doubt we''ll see RVW go. McNasty is wayyyyy too stubborn to cut his losses. He could go on loan, but not in this country.
3. I''m so cross at those plastic fans at the game, I say sat from behind my computer screen at home..
4. Agreed^ Or he could have sped off to pick up his family to watch the game. I play on Saturdays at an amateur level and my missus doesn''t mind watching but she absolutely hates having to get their early.. I''m sure my WAG is the same as RvW''s.. As is our footballing ability (same scoring record this season!)
5. In reply to Jaemae2: Are the ''wide open nets'' or ''touch of the ball'' different in the SPL and European top leagues? Because they didn''t miss much in those leagues.. Or perhaps something changes for Holt from going from being the 2nd highest goal scoring English man under Lambert to hardly scoring under Hughton.. Becchio scored 20 in 31 games for Leeds so I guess those ''wide open Premier League nets'' and the touch of the ball in the Premier League is what caused it. [/EndSarcasm]
6. GOOD!! He''s been pretty well behaved considering the situation throughout the season. I like that he''s fecked off, it shows he has passion. He didn''t become a bad player overnight, sure his build doesn''t lend itself to this league but you CANNOT deny how Hughton has a track record of taking goal scorers and causing them to have a drought.. Holt, Becchio, RVW, Hooper... The only person who Hughton allowed to maintain their goal scoring record was Elmander... AND THAT WAS BECAUSE HE NEVER SCORED ANY ANYWAY!!!!!
7. Our problem was that we bought two unproven EPL strikers.. It''s fair to take a chance on one striker that is performing well in their league outside the EPL (as Hooper and RVW did) but two and then pinning our hopes on them is ridiculous. And then to think the backup was Elmander who''s career record is almost 1 goal every 5 games or Becchio who I never stood a chance.
8. I was reading through the first page not knowing it was a old topic. The pic didn''t work anymore so I didn''t know what it said.. Then I read Jas''s comments about the ''unlikely event of Lambert being poached'' Made me chortle :)
9. Thanks Mister Chops City Til I Die it''s next Thursday, kick off at 7:30 :)
10. Can someone please hyper link it for me please as my Mac and the Pinkun don''t get on http://www.strikerstackle.com/movember
11. Hi all, Wisbech St Mary FC are hosting a charity football match for Movember. All players are participating in Movember so it should be quite a funny spectacle. If any of you guys are doing Movember and want to play then please let me know, also we''re hoping for a decent crowd to come and support the game. Entry is free. Wisbech St Mary is a village just outside of Wisbech. It''s about an hour from Norwich on the A47. More info here: http://www.strikerstackle.com/movember Thanks :)
12. Snodgrass made our team of the week too (written by a Newcastle fan) http://www.strikerstackle.com/team-of-the-week-week-three/
13. Beef Burger > Beef > CowPork > PigAm I missing something here?
14. Why on Earth would someone pretend to be working on an auto biography of a Norwich player? Are posters on this forum really that deluded that they think the kudos of working with an ex player is worth creating some elaborate story about? If you think every autobiography is written by the person sitting down with a pen and paper you are also as daft as if you believe the above assumption. I often wonder how people come to some of the weird conclusions they do with topics on these forums, but with responses like this it is no wonder.
15. I think the agents play a part hawking their players if it''s clear they need a move.If Football manager is to be believed you fax all of the other clubs with details of your player [:D]
16. I stopped listening to Canary call when I used to get infuriated at them putting callers who hadn''t been to the game on the air. Whether I''d been to the game, or listened to the radio the last thing I want to hear is the opinion of someone who only heard commentary. If the game was on tv and they watched it that''s totally fine. The thought of some half wit like this Steve guy would have driven me crazy, so it''s probably a good thing I don''t listen anymore!
17.
How interesting..........not. Yaaaaaawn and before you say it i did not bother reading the post as a shrewd guess as to the subject matter was all that was needed, well maybe not so shrewd.[:(][:''(]
I''m struggling to understand why you would open a topic that you are not interested in. That in itself is bad enough, but then taking the time to reply only to state you are not interested in the subject matter and didn''t even read the topic.. That is really odd behaviour.
18. Hi all,As some of you know I have a football blog called Strikers Tackle.. I posted about it once before and received some very kind and positive feedback.I posted before because the article was all about our beloved club. I haven''t and won''t post about all the articles we write regularly because I think that would abuse the kindness extended to me by the PinkUn allowing me to promote an article on here. But in this instance I think this article in particular will be of real interest to you all.Basically we took a look at shocking opening day results in the EPL and looked at whether they went on to reflect the teams involved season. The good news is that in our view it generally doesn''t go on to reflect the teams season, more often than not it has the opposite result.Anyhow, enough chat from me, here is the article - we welcome feedback [:)]http://www.strikerstackle.com/the-opening-games-of-the-season-do-they-reflect-a-teams-season/What do you think? I know we''re all in ''crisis mode'' at the moment, but do you think we could be in a similar situation to say a 2010 Wigan?
19. I always hear people in football talk about how results in pre-season aren''t important. I think it''s obviously better to win than lose. But, if we were trying to win every game we''d play our best 11 for the majority of the games. Instead we''ve been almost rolling with to 2 squads rotating in the games. I think CH has been trying to give everyone a chance which in turn will boost competition for places and desire to work hard among the players.I think if there are any issues its been that we''ve not been clinical enough in front of goal. Hopefully with a firm starting 11 that will change.
20. Oh my.. I really didn''t think I was making this difficult to understand..My point:The agents negotiate in nett figures. The figures reported are in nett figures.I am not saying (and also doubt) that the clubs structure their deals in nett figures.. I thought that posting a pay slip from JAR would have made that perfectly obvious that I didn''t think that way.I can''t be a$$ed to go over this any more. I didn''t insult that moy turd because he questioned me, I insulted him because of the manner in which he questioned me. It''s difficult to have a decent debate with someone who just unreasonably throws back cr@p in your face.
21.

The fact is (as I said before) agents talk in nett figures. Holt''s agent (your example) isn''t going to talk in gross terms just because his player or him are ''greedy'' they''re going to do it because THAT''S HOW THE INDUSTRY WORKS.
What makes it a fact? Are you a football agent?   Looking at the payslip you posted on here JAR gets paid £83,413.67 net a month - did his agent go into the meeting and argue for that amount or was it negotiated to be the £120,000 a month he gets paid gross?   You said in your first post that the figures seen in the press are gross figures - but agreed with me when I said those figures are just made up. A made up figure isn''t gross or net.   It sounds like you are trying to sound clever and ''in the know'' when just guessing at how things go on in the background.
You do realise you are questioning the very foundation of a message board don''t you? If every one posted nothing but factual information there wouldn''t be any posts on here at all other than stuff like:OP: Ayala moves to Forest1st post: Yes I see that.2nd post: Yup reported on their web site3rd post: and on ours4th post: Thank you for letting me know5th post: I think he''ll only be over there to get some games under his belt as he''s been injured.6th post by Bethnal Yellow and Green: HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?.. YOU ARE CLEARLY TRYING TO BE CLEVER WHEN ACTUALLY YOU''RE JUST GUESSING!!! I''m not a football agent, but all of my comments are backed up by things I''ve read from players, managers or agents. My point was that the figures that we hear about are nett of tax. To prove my point wrong how about you and berk boy run along and find an article where a player is reported to be earning £x amount gross..I don''t see anywhere where I''ve agreed that the figures quoted are gross.. I said the figures quoted were nett. Where I agreed with you is that the figures quoted in the press are very rarely released by the clubs and are often leaked or speculation. In the case of JAR pay slip the nett figure is inclusive of his bonus''s. Without the bonus''s his weekly wage is something like £13.5k which is £700k a year nett. If you add in his appearance bonus it''s around £14k a week. Anyhow, the bottom line here is that I stand by my original point which is the format players discuss wages is in nett terms.
