  1. £1.36m/yr Lineker gets from the BBC. And this is £400k down from the previous year. Really? For presenting a very poor, very light on actual content one hour highlights package? Difficult to pass this off as VFM I would say. Also the seemingly endless gravy train of ‘expert’ analysts- Shearer, Danny Murphy, Micah Richards (… really?) et al, who contribute nothing that anyone with basic coaching badges couldn’t provide. Get rid of the presenting dross and provide better match coverage IMO. Mind you I’d occasionally probably dip in and out of watching it regardless, definitely more so than the other ****e that BBC produce these days (The Wall, MM’s The Wheel etc etc).
  2. It’s Hugill time…. Come on JH do us a goal.
  3. At the other end, that’s a red. Confirmed by VAR as well, no doubt.
  4. They seem very ‘entitled’ don’t they? Almost as bad as West Ham fans. I don’t know about others but I’m OK with being labelled ‘the worst PL team ever’- the longer that opposing teams underestimate us the better IMO.
  5. Cardiff are in this. I’d love to see them nick one in front of their own fans in the Second Half.
  6. I thought it was 5 reds for one team (down to 6 players) for an abandonment, if I’m wrong apologies.
  7. 0-0, 4 straight red cards each and a host of injuries to key players.
  8. Jed Steer in goal for Luton as well. Not going well for Wessi and CU just now though ☹️
  9. Would have liked some visible effort to try to find a DM, who knows there may have been work done behind the scenes in that respect, who knows? Given our financial position we were always restricted in what we could do. I suppose the question now is do we need to do much in the Summer (assuming we have been relegated).
  10. IMO an excellent signing, almost ‘nothing to lose’, other than his wages. Could well be the impetus to lift them out of the rut they’ve fallen into. Annoyingly, it is only going to intensify the media ‘love in’ with the ‘plucky Bees’.
  11. It would be really, really sweet if we could take Palace apart at CR on 9th Feb, a nice 3 or 4-0 with their defence looking like headless chickens. The silence from Jordan and the other gobs**** Talksport presenters would no doubt be deafening. It’s nice to dream….😉
  12. For me, it’s a more generic thing- that some fight and spirit is being shown compared to some of the abject performances earlier in the season. I could live with being relegated as long as we did so having been seen to give it a real go. Hopefully there’s a bit of confidence returning in some of the players, and with others returning / getting up to speed (especially Normann, hopefully) we can at last see some of the potential in the squad.
  13. A distinct possibility IMO when he goes to Webber and tells him he needs another £50m or so to release the dross we have in our squad and replace them, the ‘want always’ and returning loanees with Championship winning standard players.
  14. If a decision cannot be made in 30 seconds (I.e. ‘clear and obvious’) the original decision should stand (IMO). Multiple replays and roll-backs to try to find a reason to disallow is ridiculous and as others have said open to subjective interpretation. Does anyone think we’d have got the benefit of such a decision at OT (or Anfield, or Stamford Bridge etc etc)? No chance (again IMO).
  15. Absolutely ridiculous. Nobody in the stadium knows why it was disallowed. 5 minutes to check a borderline decision is a farce, but there again every possibility to disallow against a ‘big club’ has to be explored I suppose.
  16. You could have Sky- you still get to have to watch adverts and pay a monthly subscription for the privilege.
  17. It would be good to see Rashica (if fit), Tzolis and Sargent figure prominently at Charlton. Mid table L1 opposition might at least give us a gauge as to their true attributes. If they don’t look a class above there we may have to re-assess their ability to ‘tear up’ the Championship.
  18. ‘Pace and power’. We were miles short on this last time in the PL, we were even out-muscled by some in the Championship (significantly ex PL sides Watford and Bournemouth). It’s incredible this was never addressed, we were never going to ‘out football’ PL sides, it was stupid to think we could.
  19. Typical MSM big-club biased b*****ks. ‘We’ should be questioning the ‘insular model? Let’s pointedly not mention the recent announcement about Abramovich funding Chelsea to the tune of £1billion. Yet ‘we’ should be pressing the club to compete by hounding out the owners or spending money we haven’t got (as said above the experience of Bolton, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Derby etc etc proves the fallacy of doing so). Sorry, but ‘we’ are not the problem here, your beloved Chelsea et al are the problem with football in this country, the sooner the ‘big 6’ F-off to the ESL the better (IMO). It is a miracle we are even in the PL, not acknowledged therein in any way of course, yet we are supposed to be thankful to the likes of ‘Dirty Russian Money’ FC that they would even consider loaning us their player. Abysmal.
  20. The content producers for the BBC Sport website really need to have a word with themselves. On a few questions in that quiz it tells you your answer is incorrect without giving the correct answer…, kind of annoying for a ‘quiz’. That and the fact that their ridiculous ‘player rating’ thing dominates their individual game coverage pages. A completely meaningless piece of ‘audience-participation’ c**p for the social-meeja generation, rendered totally pointless as evidently most half-wit contributors are not actually watching the game (… Gilmour tops our ratings every match).
  21. The fact that Jenas and Richards both earn livings as ‘expert pundits’ irks me massively. Hardly a functioning brain cell between them and their ‘insight’ hardly ever extends beyond ‘how the manager did brilliant stuff at Tottenham / Man City’ (as applicable). Agbonlahor must be angling to get onto the same ‘spouting big club biased b*****ks’ gravy train.
  22. I think every single Norwich fan is right royally sick of the the media w**k-athon over Gilmour. They even started in the commentary yesterday about what a talent he is…., just like everything Norwich related that MSM produces it was just lazy, they haven’t watched us this season and seen how abject some of his performances have been. Had he been on loan with us last season he would have looked world-class no doubt- hell even Kenny McClean looked top drawer at times, but he’s the wrong player for us at the wrong time. It’s been a poor decision for both parties and needs ending quickly. The singling out of BG by (what appears to me on the twitter clip to be a handful / small minority of) our fans is misguided and counterproductive when let’s face it, he’s struggling in a set-up not suited to him and is surrounded by a number of players of poor quality, little form and no confidence.
  23. A quick Google suggests they named a full 25 man squad, but as I understand can also call from a list of U21 / contracted players, of which they named 47. So they can’t get 13 players out of a total of 72? A claim that they cannot field enough ‘first choice’ players must be a bit disingenuous compared to our situation today surely? I’m absolutely certain no ‘external influence’ was exerted by massively wealthy financial parties behind the scenes, no sireee, no way.
  24. Yes, I noticed that close up at a CP corner as well. To be fair this was the case on a number of occasions last season too, on a few occasions we got out-muscled by bigger teams (most noticeably by Watford and Bournemouth). We were fortunate that there was enough other teams in the Championship that we could ‘out football’- up into the PL we do not have enough quality to do this, nor do we have strong, physical players to be able to battle and compete with any of the other 19 clubs. It was an obvious issue for us, another that did not get addressed in the summer recruitment.
