  1. Norwich v Liverpool 3-5 loss was the best game of football I have ever seen live. Yes derby wins are brilliant, and obviously hugely enjoyable, but even though we lost that Liverpool game it was just fantastic, with Justin Fashanu''s goal of the season - I was only 15 when I watched that one, but it still sticks in my mind! Anybody else on here think it was the best game they have ever seen? Worst game is tougher - losing to Luton in the Cup at Carrow Road, was pretty bad - struggled to stay awake - so boring, but that 1-7 Colchester game must be the worst!
  2. Norwich and Ipswich have the same points in the League. Many of our Club''s Fans want a rich buyer to take over, to boost it''s chances of promotion, and the big time, as our current supporter/supporter owner/sponsorship model seems outdated, and perhaps unlikely to succeed. Ipswich have a rich owner, who invests little in the squad, and who has put them massively into debt but also produced total stagnation. Totally different models, yet Ipswich have so far come off worse over recent years - but are now level with us. For me our model is maybe outdated and the current incarnation of this model is the last chance to prove it might work. It still needs more time though. But the Ipswich model shows we have to be so careful to find the right investor, should our owners decide to sell - otherwise we could end up in exactly the same position as Ipswich, in the same League for a long while, but just with Ipswich just having been here longer than us - and with more debt!
  3. A few wins and we climb the league, and in all honesty we do have some very winnable games! A few losses and....... oh dear! Lower league could be a real issue. The trouble, as we all know, is that if there is a hint of promotion it is so much easier to hold on to our best players. A few losses, and they suddenly get itchy feet! Too many itchy feet and we could be in for a roller coaster end of the season - for the wrong reasons. I''ve supported Norwich since 1977, and mostly been a season ticket holder ever since - I''m sure loads out there have supported the team for longer - but for me, this Christmas period is perhaps one of the most important in our Clubs history. Lets hope it''s a productive Christmas we can all enjoy. Just wondered what peoples thoughts are for the Christmas, games, the rest of the season and the future? Will we reach top six (by a fluke) will January stuff us and start a relegation battle, will failure result in new owners and why do we still have (in my opinion) some of the best players in the league, but still find it hard to win a game? Would love to hear peoples thoughts.
  4. Probably mid league - the positivity and togetherness we had, as a Club, with supporters and players has gone. That gone, it has once again been replaced with a fragmented and split fan base, all having a go at each other and therefore not helping the Club with it''s objectives. This will filter through to the players with boos at games (fans entitled to - yes)  which serve to unsettle players & create nervous performances with players afraid to express themselves and their talent, in case they make a mistake. This stifles the talent we have - which is still better than many clubs in this league.Clubs go through ups and downs, the ups are usually when everyone pulls together, and a certain set of circumstances need to exist for that to happen. We do not have that situation at the moment, so appear to be on a slightly downward spiral, until there are some positives to unite the Board, Fans and players once more.Whether that is results, changes in management, or the Board, remains to be seen.
  5. Kevin Bond scored a lot of own goals for us - hope he wouldn''t be in charge of defensive coaching - we''re bad enough now!
  6. His obvious and honest disappointment at failing to deliver a second year of Premiership Football for our Club, and Supporters made me think he might (mistakenly) resign. His reasons for this seasons failure were also honest, and you know Alex Neil is unlikely to make the same mistakes again. Neither is he a "yes" man, and will be asking others to improve (i.e. recruitment) etc as well as himself! I hope he continues with us, and am sure he is capable of getting us another promotion from the Championship!
  7. 1 Just can''t see anyone else who could give us a better chance of promotion next year, whichever league we are in- his record in the Championship was fantastic, and no doubt he will have learned a lot about the unforgiving Premiership if we stay up, which will help us whichever league we are in! Obviously usual reviews, based on performance.
  8. This is entirely true Vanwink, I totally agree with you, Executive''s salaries in the Public Sector have gone up by much more than they for the "foot soldiers". This is also the case in the Private Sector, and is the reason that the distribution of wealth in this country is following a path of the gap between the wealthy and the average person becoming ever larger. Junior Doctors do not however fall into the category of very wealthy public sector workers, for all their qualifications and experience, with a starting salary of £22,862 which can (according to the BMA website) rise to £47,647.
  9. What everything posted on here ignores is that, in spite of who is wrong and right in this, demand and supply do, and will, affect the service the public sector can offer. The public sector has largely received below inflation pay rises since 2009. The private sector has obviously suffered too. However, there is a global market out there, and the public sector is now being targeted by the private sector, as it can offer more money for many comparable jobs it has skills shortages for. This leads to huge public sector recruitment problems, and the appointment of agency staff as an expensive short term fix. This problem affects the NHS too. We rely on junior doctors, who have never withdrawn their emergency care in the history of the NHS. The proposals for their change in working practices and pay are cost neutral - so someone is gaining! If people want professional, competent and qualified people to run our public services, then the pay and conditions need to match, or be close to, those of similar qualified people in the private sector - otherwise its the old peanuts and monkeys scenario! I work in both the public and private sector, and have worked in the charity sector too - so (surely please) I cannot be accused of being allied to any side! People seem to want everything for nothing from the public sector nowadays, but unfortunately, volunteers aside, this is not possible as there is a market for skilled employees out there and at the moment, believe it or not, the public sector is not a popular place to be!
  10. Yep - great attacking performance, but pretty assured defensively as well - Samuelsen so calm on the ball for a 23 year old! Lots of pace in the team too - nice to see a confident team!
  11. For whatever reason, summer transfers fell through on the transfer deadline, it wasn''t money, because it was available and deals would obviously have been cheaper than in January.I think Alex has lost his way a lot, and his confidence in his own philosophy of open expansive high pressing football has been dented. But we do now actually have a lot better squad, and I think if Alex now went back to the playing style we had, we would win enough games to stay up. We were a far better attacking side than a defensive one! But, have Alex and the players got the confidence to do that? We will have to wait and see, but I hope so.If he doesn''t keep us up though, I look back and think that with his win ratio in the Championship, we would have won that league comfortably had he been in charge from the start. I can think of no other manager, that I would be more confident in getting us promoted at the first attempt, so for me he must stay.He has now got promoted from the Championship, managed in the Prem, and must now have enough experience to either keep us up, or get us promoted.Lets have some stability - we would have loved it with Lambert but now we have a chance with another great young manager.Constant change has been proven not to work!
  12. Not seen the game on tv, but I didn''t think Rudd was at fault for any of the goals today, and didn''t actually make any mistakes. A difficult game for him as he was under pressure, and very exposed by the defence, so not making mistakes when under pressure like that is a good sign. I have seen few goals scored against us, that Rudd should have saved, and not seen many mistakes from him.In contrast, John Ruddy was making mistakes that were costing us goals, and that is why he lost his place. So for me Rudd should stay in goal, and hopefully with Klose playing in a re-vamped defence, he might feel more confident, which should help his game further. Not time yet to dent a youngsters confidence for doing little wrong.
  13. Wish him well, a top athlete with a superb attitude. Never complained when not picked and other players commented how supportive he was to them - even when they might have been taking his place, and still tweeted his support to his Norwich team mates on Twitter! I''m sure he''ll do well, but still have this feeling that I would have liked to have seen him given a go at right back, I think this could be his best position (as do quite a few I''m sure) - maybe not in the Prem, but when we were in the Championship.
  14. Not heard booing in the Jarrold - the quietest stand in the ground with probably the most reserved people - rarely any singing support for the team from the Jarrold, so I''m surprised they''ve suddenly taken to expressing negative boos all of a sudden!
  15. Except that the Sky Transfer Centre has recently been updated to say it''s sources understand no deal has been agreed between the two Clubs, and that other clubs are interested - all very confusing!
  16. From memory didn''t we sign half of a strike partnership that had done really well when we bought Beckford, and he just didn''t perform so well on his own, or I may be mistaken? Honestly can''t remember the other guys name though! Getting too old!
  17. Big project - Rovers are in a mess financially, and he won''t be able to spend. Big challenge for him, but I hope he does well!
  18. How do you use "no script"? The Pink''Un site regularly crashes my Firefox!
  19. He''s a youth player for Rochdale (or in the Reserves) - played no games for the first team in 2015/16, and whilst listed as a striker he appears to have signed terms with Rochdale initially as a left back in 2013!If true, seems a very strange player for us to interested in!
  20. Good player - but lets move forwards.
  21. Wow - awesome work - I was at Wembley but don''t have a photo to send - if I did I would! Must be loads of fans that do though!
  22. oh - ok - but the game is a 2.00pm kick off - just a thought - sorry to disturb your golf - you''ll see the second half!
  23. Golf more important then - we''ll see you shortly before half time then!
  24. Annoying load of c rap MOTD type syndrome - blinded by the light!
