  1. He didn''t look too brilliant against Wigan in pre-season, and didn''t shine in the few reserve games he''s played. I don''t like player bashing, but Theo''s obviously suffered a massive loss of form/confidence since his "successful career" ended against Col U. Agree with Wembley_Canary - he is a luxury we certainly can''t afford.
  2. He''s not in the latest squad photo. But he is still in the squad list on the back of the programme... I''d love to see his payslip!
  3. I renewed a week ago - so wasn''t very amused to find Paul Lambert''s reminder on the mat when I got home! This was obviously a promotion that was planned ages ago - when it may have seemed unlikely that many of us would renew. There is a bottom line in very small type "if you have manually renewed your season ticket in the last 7 days, thank you. Please ignore this reminder......." OK Paul, this may be the only time in my life that I am positively enjoying ignoring you.
  4. My other half saw Drury in Chapelfield over half term. Said Hi! and had a chat - JB expected to be back "in a couple of weeks". Askou has been out much longer - I assume the thinking is that he needs to be completely match fit. I''m sure there''s nothing sinister in the lack of news. Great to see Spillane back!
  5. An Irishman goes into the confessional box after years of being away from the Church. He is amazed to find a fully equipped bar with Guinness on tap. On the other wall is a dazzling array of the finest cigars and chocolates. Then the priest comes in. Excitedly, the Irishman begins..."Father, forgive me, for it''s been a very long time since I''ve been to confession, but I must first admit that the confessional box is much more inviting than it used to be." The priest replies, "Get out. You''re on my side."
  6. Perhaps he was going to his anger management group CA! I think he has had a few back problems over the past month so he may well have been given time off.
  7. Possibly he was too good for them Largey?
  8. Try going through the NewsNow Norwich City page. Have tried several times to get this to post. I thought there was a surge of posters commenting on new season ticket prices - but no - just c**p technology.
  9. Agree with you Bristol Nest - he isn''t just passionate though and playing with obvious enjoyment, he is - with Rusty - great at winning the ball. I also think he has been getting more pacey over the last couple of months. His kicking has upped our ability to score from free kicks and corners - a couple of seasons ago we were useless in any dead ball situations.
  10. Excellent pics CA! Are you sure you don''t work for Archant?
  11. as the man said himself: "Well Col U fans were correct, there is only one Robbie Cowling." Thank God (other brands also available)!
  12. What an excellent show. Really impressed - we could certainly do with something like that! Enjoyed the interview with Matt Gill - he was very good against Millwall, I''m sure he''ll get more chances. Thanks too for the nice words - you''ll have most of Norfolk willing you on against Leeds!
  13. Colchester was built by those well-known tyrants and invaders the Romans - who imposed their law, their calendar and their horrible straight roads on the local tribes who inhabited East Anglia. "The earliest record of the town’s existence is a reference by the Roman writer, Pliny the Elder in AD77. In describing the island of Anglesey, he wrote that ‘it is about 200 miles from Camulodunum, a town in Britain’." Let''s face it, after 2000 years not a lot has changed: Colchester is still a TOWN!
  14. starts next Monday evening - late (11.15pm I think). Yes, we did get a quick look at Gunny.
  15. Agree Tangie! I also though the Doc wasn''t as quick on his feet as in the past few games and there seemed a lack of communication between him and R Martin.
  16. Sorry Pete - missed your post, didn''t mean to start new thread.
  17. Agree Buffman, My hubby''s school was open all week - and we were at the game yesterday. I thought the OP was very humorous - but that the snow seems to have removed our sense of fun. As an ex-teacher who now works with the families of children that schools don''t want to darken their doors - I have come to the conclusion that some of us work a lot harder than others regardless. It was ever thus. I am very cynical as to the reason why so many Premier League games were off this weekend. Snow? Or having some of their best players in Africa?
  18. The pavements were appalling after the Boxing Day game - I know 3 people who fell outside the ground. One was my husband who is still recovering from the torn shoulder ligaments he got when he fell. We are both mad though - planning to drive in from the south of the county for today''s game when said husband gets back from work! Blowing a blizzard currently........ If the game is to be called off PLEASE let this be before midday as anyone driving in will need to start much earlier than usual. Still want us to play today though!
  19. McNally said he would only comment on Johnson because Stockport had made our offer for him public. He said that normally he wouldn''t say anything until it was a done deal. I think he was bounced by Stockport - any other business, whether it''s Whitbread or another CB, will be announced when the club has a player to show off at a Press conference.
  20. Don''t get too excited! Post below is on Tribalfootball site. I guess we have to wait a bit for the full story. Melbourne Heart dismiss Theoklitos link 21.12.09 | Andrew Slevison READ MORE NEWS ON: Melbourne Victory, A-League, Melbourne Victory Melbourne Heart have dismissed claims that they have signed former Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos.
  21. Really good clear picture - no lagging - even though we have steam driven broadband down here in SW Norfolk. Better camera work than the Paulton game on ITV. The commentator was awful -turned him off and listened to R Norfolk - with a very slight delay on the sound. We were awful in the second half though - clueless. Hope things are back to normal for Tuesday.
  22. He looked overweight and unfit to me. Several of us were talking about it during the first half - he was hand on hips trying to get his breath before half time. sad really - but not for us yesterday!
  23. I''m sure I wasn''t alone in expecting Southamton to walk all over them today. I will be surprised if we look as good at St Mary''s next week! And then we are following up with Brighton at home 3 days later! KTF!!!
