1.   STICK the ball in THE F***ing NET we could all get it printed on t shirts around the ground for saturday?
 2. always like to have my finger on the pulse!!! more insightful comments to follow!!!" i for one cant wait.
 3. I think roeder will play                           MarshallOmosuzi - Kennedy - Stefan - BertrandCroft - Fozzy - Clinghan - Hoolahan                Lupoli Cureton Subs - Russell - OJ - Nelson - Shackell -  Pattison And i will be disappointed. Haven''t seen anything in Omosuzi to suggest that he''s got more in his locker than the season of pace and strong tackling back semmy gave us 07/08. And can''t see him not having shackell in as cover to stef and injury prone kennedy and shackell can fill in fullback, not sure semmy could fill in CB, and he needs to have a midfielder available, maybe two if it''s hot. He can''t NOT have a striekr on the bench with Lupoli maybe 80% fit now..And also i think our strongest and only possible winning formation with the players we have is 4 - 3 - 3, wouldn''t play croft, would drop him to the bench, replacing him with Russell, have semmy in for Omo, playing clinghan behind fozz/russell and hollywoodahan behind lupo and curo. Then go 4-4 2 when we''re 2-0 up with 20 to go, bringing off lupoli for OJ, resting hoolahan for MK Dons replacing him with croft, with russell going left hand side (the boy would do a job anywhere, i''d always play him)
 4.

I think you''re forgetting, HH44, that the transfer window runs until 31st August, not the end of today.Glenn has already stated in his press conference today that he was expecting to have the striker wrapped up by now as well, but that the selling club are being difficult.  Sounds like he''s just as annoyed as we are about it all...One game without won''t kill us, as long as its wrapped up next week.  We survived without Huckerby for the first month of our promotion season don''t forget!
''thing is Evil, the season starts tomorrow and 12 points to be won or lost between now and end of August.
EM you are correct, Snoot you are not so.Sunderland? Palace? Us for 13 games start of 08??I''ll settle for there or thereabouts start. The momentum can then set in with a lovely big juicy frontman at 11:50pm August 31st.
 5.
Coventry.........So dire even Hitler tried to flatten it with the luftwaffer.
WHAT a first post that is sir![:D]
 6.
Cov is one of the most dire places in the country, I know where I would want to live. When they are talking about the unfinished ground, they must be referring to the corner hotel, well as nice a stadium they have, how similar is it to all the other modern ones, they become souless plastic empires to me, I love the Carrow Road and would not swap it for theirs, albeit I would have there numbers that they can get.
I remember hearing their independent supporters chairwoman on Five Live just after their takeover late 07 talking about the mooted takeover and speaking on how now "we''re going to go where this club belongs" blah blah, then the reporter astutely asked her if the next day''s home game against stoke (i think) would be a sell out and she replied, "well people are christmas shopping of course, and it''s very cold at the moment..."I''d rather sell out our season tickets and capacity most weeks than have 7-10,000 empty seats every game.
 7.
A couple of fans on here last week said he is an ipswich fan, thats what made me write the email.
according to wiki he is a cortinadriving whitestillettowearing gavinandstaceyextra - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_D%27Urso
 8. the closer to the start of the season we have come (less than a quarter of an hour to opening day now) the more defined the split has been on these here message boards. We find ourselves either daring to dream or naively believing on the one hand or holding realism close to our heart or hating the board too much to risk optimisim being mistaken for supporting the regime.i''m one of the former. So is pickles i feel.how many games till people start jumping the divide?
 9.
Sorry no one''s asked a question and I''m off to bed so I''m nice and fresh for the game tomorrow, so I would just like to pose my final question of the night...   WHO''S GONNA WIN AT THE RICOH TOMORROW?!!! OTBC
coventry.What do i win?!
 10.
I realise for some unfathomable reason that peoples expectations are much lower these days, but I would still regard promotion and/or a good Cup run as successful.Three year plans from a Board & manager who''ve found their comfort zone that are backed up by submissive & ignorant fans doesn''t quite cut the mustard for me.
I don''t regard myself as submissive or ignorant. But I do think there is the possibility we could push for a top half finish with one more 15+ goals signing. This, i would regard after the last few years as a positive season.Being a Norwich City fan truly teaches you the fine line between pessimism and realism.
 11. I partly agree that without a target man etc. it is a sad fact that in this league FULL of POOR footballing teams you will be looking at lower midtable at very very best. However, i DO feel glass half full because it''s the eve of the new season. I''ve got a new shirt, a cov ticket and a season ticket. along with the others who are stupid/passionate (delete as appropriate) to be there i''ll be singing OTBC tomorrow full of optimism at the ricoh.Only if we fail to sign someone I deem as a decent centre forward before midnight on 31st August, my other half will drain away.See you all tomorrow.
 12.
Maybe the dodgy ham roll i had for lunch! BUT, Would the DOC (When Fit!) make a good target man for a quick midfeild & Curo or Arturo to feed off! [^o)]
did you get the ham from royston vasey?
 13.

I would promise to take a dump in the centre circle if this turns out to be true, but I''m sure everybody would rather not see that and so I won''t.
BOOOOOOOO..........You could do it at the Blackpool game then Dogger can run circles round it. That would strike fear into any Blackpool fan. [:S]
[:D] ha ha ha.
 14.
I don''t understand all the praise. You think it''s acceptable for him to make comments about murder victims to a guy and his six year-old? Come on, get a grip people...
i would put the cumulative value of my 16 season tickets on the fact that what was shouted at him, green and dean throughout the course of the game was far more personal and worse. He was a much nicer figure at norwich than he has turned into and i for one applaud him for his outburst. Any offence, hurt or upset caused to the filth is okay in my book.
 15.

when speaking about speculation regarding steve howard and the did we didnt we put a bid in..he called it " garbage" then said why would we pay that kind of money for someone of his age blah blah blah then i asked if the shola ameobi deal was dead in the water and commenting that the reported figure of £3m is a lot on money... he strongly hinted on a possible loan deal!. I also picked up on the defending during the colchester game was not acceptable... and that owosuzi was pretty poor at right back... to which he was supprised that i thought this.... then we talked about the line up for coventry..... they way he was talking it would be bertrand left back and owosuzi right back.... to that i said " nah semi should be there... def better... he then told me he is more of a owusuzi fan. he also hinted koroma could make an appearence!?!? for all those worrying that we signed david bell injured... he said they pushed him to the limit on his medical.... and that is certainly wasnt a risk... he was proper glad to have him here......
Absolute classic. If this conversation did actually take place then read between the lines, see highlighted bits - that kind of money = even 500k for a striker is too much for Donk, (welcome to the 21st century Neil, please try to keep up) Loan deal = Donk and the Board being too tight to pay for a decent striker, we are fast becoming Loan City instead of Norwich City. If he was less than keen on Semmi then that gives you a good clue on a player we may be going to cash in on, well done Neil why have a permanent defender when we could have one on loan eh? I would be suprised if he revealed that much detail about a confidential item such as a players medical and think it''s a bit far fetched that you saw Neil, then Delia straight after and overheard their conversation. I think you''re an attention seeking fantasist mate, and you made it all up.
i can 100% confirm that neil doncaster was standing where he nearly always has been in the last year or so after home games, on the corner of where the jarrold stand goes round to the river end. And i saw him talking to a couple of people when i walked past after colchester as i ofter do. AND as for the holier than thou attitude towards positive posters on here, it''s tiresome. Fair enough there are idiots who think everything is rosy, but when they''re only mildly positive they shouldn''t be shot down and positive people are not the equivalent of a hole in the head to the club.for the record i think we will finish 14th at best this season. call me percy.
 16. doomcaster is a 7letter 4letter in my opionion.does anyone remember his explanation of why he''s earnt over 100k per year when the figures were made public??!he was a lawyer before football, AAND he hung up on me once. two good reasons to have a slight anger towards him if ever anyone had any.
 17.
Splatthecat, how dare you demand this, its crazy-talk! The Doc is injured and someone has to be the scapegoat, don''t they.................?
ha ha ha
 18. Without divulging too much incriminating information, I can assure you from first hand experience that the BBC is more impartial than independent media outlets, to the extent that many characters from each side of the divide pride themselves for the fact they have to be/don''t have to be.When I first read your post i immediately assumed you were hoping we would all write an article/dissertation/media studies coursework paper for you! The way we choose to interact with the messages available to us goes far beyond the wishes of the teachers'' grauniad or the border police''s mail. Norwich fans are a fantastic case in point. There are many ways we choose to receive information about the goings on at colney and fcr, however some of us will give credit to the "i saw emile heskey buying tartan paint in B&Q" posts on the pink un whilst others will believe their mate whose mate ..."works at the airport and, like, totally saw andy cole...".You have posters like the wiz. who in my short period of time on this message board sees himself as a kind of jack dee grumpy old man figure, he of the downturned lips and pessimism. He will read Roeder''s comments about two strikers and pick out that they could be anyone, nobodies and freebies. Then there are others of us who are a bit more level headed and aren''t quite as desperate to invoke a large reaction and a 6 page thread by simply taking the man it word. It doesn''t mean we also took his Emerald Park Lupoli quotes without a pinch of salt. I think the point i''m trying to make is, the media only shapes those people''s opinions when those people find it convenient for their general outlook. Great documentaries can inspire and inform, and are a far greater source of information by their nature of preparation and research. The internet is the worst example. The nature of most advertising agreements on particularly publishing websites such as Archants being a CPM model (cost per thousand times a visitor sees the ad),means that you''ll get stories like "Dion to return to norwich" to get us useless punters desperate for a story on signings 9 and 10 to click through and see he''s doing a book tour and will be in Borders on tuesday. And we probably won''t even see the Expedia fly to Rome for £35.99 ad, let alone click through to it.my media highlight of 2008 was being quoted by Fans Eye in the EDP after a particularly strongly worded rant to Mr. Aitken via email after some irresponsible journalism trying to encourage roeder haters. His intention was to invoke a reaction... and it got one.
 19. i wonder if it could possibly be one of those slightly out of favour? [:O]
 20. oh and one more thing, there was aone handed save in the first half from a header when he needed to re-adjust mid air and palm the ball away, this was really really a good sign and the sort of save that a lot of people don''t appreciate as it''s not flying through the air 2 meters to your left or right - which are much easier as your reach naturally increases doing this with your momentum. the boy''s alright.
 21. I thinkhe gets way too hard a time from a lot of people. As an (albeit amateur) keeper, you some times have to make a snap decision about spreading wide as you can to fill the goal or keeping your legs closed, which tends to only really be a possibility when the striker is approaching the goal from an angle, last night''s goals where it went through his legs were all closer than 12 yards and pretty much head on, there''s very little he could do, his only mistake i felt last night was in spilling the shot which led diretly to a goal (think it was the third?). His calling was improved last night (i could hear him from my seat for the first time ever) and if he can work on taking more initiative with his defenders with balls in behind the back four i think by the age of 25, 26 he could be a real class all rounder.
 22. Frazier campbell is 5 ft 8 in (that''s 1.73m metric fans). So it''s not him. Shame though.
 23. Maybe that was a bit harsh. I apologise. Got carried away.My point was that whilst two of those three are indeed legends (malky just being a very good player and thoroughly nice bloke), the Norwich way is to "reward" people for their "loyalty", sorry but that''s how you get relegated (which yes i am aware we did anyway) but you then summed this up in your next post. You can''t give contracts for loyalty. You can give a great big whopping testimonial and send off though, which in the case of Hucks should have happened.I wish Hucks had a nother contract. But i know that although it''s a shame and i already miss him, it was the right move.
 24.

At what point last season did you see "an explosive attacking threat from the wings" when Huckerby was playing? All I saw was an unfit winger trying manfully to live up to former glories.
Good point well made.
Sorry no, it''s a nonsense point. Anybody with even the smallest of footballing brains know that a fit Huckerby even in his thirties is more than a match for most Championship defenders. We should have kept him for another season even if only to keep him on the bench and bring him for a last explosive 20 minutes. We have a history of letting good, older and wiser players go before their time. Mackay and Roberts two good cases in point. How stupid was that ? Trouble is that some football managers have such insecure and inadequate personalities that they cannot handle players that they perceive to be bigger and more popular than them.
ha ha ha ha ha i''m laughing AT you, snooty, AT you.  To start a post talking about people with "the smallest of footballing brains" then going on to say that Iwan Roberts was let go BEFORE his time????!!!! you are a total idiot. Don''t think of a comeback, there isn''t one. any credibility you ever had of any kind is now shot. gone. finished.what a joke. Roberts? Legend Hucks? Legend Malky? Great player for us. 1st one was let go a year/18 months too soon, 2nd one bang on time but in a terrible way, not enough of a fuss made, 3rd one should have been kept on. So bad judgement present in all three cases, for different reasons. You won''t understand this though, due to your "smallest of football brains". I wish my heart ruled my head like yours.
