What does the PL handing 25% of its income to the EFL actually mean? If true - I am not sure that it is - it would be more significant than simply recycling parachute monies which in principle needs to be spread more evenly amongst EFL clubs. Investment in grass roots football should also be a requirement. How about some European football for small towns and cities, a little like the original Fairs Cup. If we could get that I would happily leave the Premier League on the shelf. In time it could be come a more attractive product than the predictable Premier League and Champions League. In the interim we might see some salaries for our players that come back closer to planet earth.

I can see where you are coming from and there is plenty of middle ground between 740 bondholders and 22,000 season ticket holders. I suspect any rate of return they offer will be much less than the Bond Scheme. Could be of some benefit if still in the Championship but £5 million is unlikely to contribute much to a Premier League season which is where we should be next time round given our financial advantages this season.
