1.
So Delia should get nothing, rubbish.  She should hold out for the best price she can get, in her shoes I would do exactly the same.  This isnt quite the same as FTSE stocks and shares, the valuations are dealt with completely differently.  This is all about negotiation, Delia has pitched high, Cullum has pitched low, its the same technique whether you are buying a £50m football club or a £5 fake armani belt from a street trader in Ibiza.  If PC is serious about buying, and Delia is serious about selling these two will throw this back and forward for a while yet.
Damn, I knew £50M for that belt was expensive.
 2.

I think we should be allowed to choose whether the protests are towards the players too. Why should Doherty get away with it. It''s the full 3D''s or nothing!
DELIA DONCASTER DOHERTY This is spooky... look at the letter d in the mirror.  It looks like the number 6.  Well, it does if you give it a curly top. ddd 666 OMG!
. I''d stop reading that Gym Daily Mail Mr Chops! it''s affecting your brain. Next thing you know they''ll all be over here nicking our jobs again....
 3.
sorry to say but the people of norwich are about to see delia''s true colours thieving , arrogant, money grabbing, self ego serving journalist who would be lost in a professional kitchen just like her recipes the clubs not hers. like the city the club needs to grow and in her own words she not the idiot we want and what fantastic last 10 years norwich have had
Thieving is rather a serious accusation Loz. Do you have any evidence to back that, or is the anger getting the better of you old chap?(Oh and I don''t suppose the Loz H refers to the multi talented Loz Hardy of little remembered 90''s supergroup kingmaker does it? could just be your name of course!)
 4.
Apologies if already posted, but not showing up explicitly in the ''search'' function. This was sent to me earlier in week, but only as a Youtube link, so hadn''t bothered watching until now:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4MjxRKhYCkInteresting quote is at 1:59 - "I have to face up to one thing….if somebody comes along and says I will put £20m into Norwich City Football Club, on the playing side, not just on the day to day scrabbling to survive, the supporters would not forgive me if I turned it down’"An interesting choice of figure to use.........
Oh go on then i''ll bite. I imagine i''m one of the people up on the fence. It would seem a perfectly reasonable thing to say "£20M etc etc", but surely not "Oh and if they do, i''ll give them the keys to Carrow Rd and walk away". No one would do that. I doubt whether Delia thought that particular scenario would ever appear. Depressing it is, (and I was really looking forward to the new season 2 weeks ago)  but where do we go now. Protests? Walk outs? We need to be sure of what it is we are trying to achieve here. Like anything else there needs to be a reasonable aternative. Mr Cullum needs to come up with more than he has so far.  Come on PC, really put your money where many of the fan''s mouths are.
 5.
Dont know about the rest of you, but after the ambition that delia, board etc have shown over recent years, did you really expect anything different! They havent even got the decency to speak to the supporters face too face about recent speculation. they let us fans know through the press ! Ipswich fans are laughing there heads off at us!
Strange how Mr Cullum is unavailable for comment too eh?
 6.
http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_9853247 "The forward was said to prefer San Jose over Toronto because of its playing surface. Toronto FC plays on artificial turf, the Quakes on grass. When asked about field preferences this week, Yallop cited MLS rules in not criticizing artificial turf. Huckerby also comes with questions. At 32, has he lost a step? His health also has been an issue because of hip problems. And Norwich City isn''t exactly on the English soccer map." Doesn''t look like were going to make on any time soon does it?
Now watch him tear them to pieces.   er "Go Hucks"
 7.

i read this board alot but i don''t contribute very often but honestly how stupid and fickle are the people that right on here if i had put £9 million pounds into anything i don''t think i''d be prepared to walk away with nothing in return, iwas as excited by the thought of mr cullums millions as everyone else but get a life people its just not going to happen as much as we''d all love it to and by raising delia out campains you are just going to tear our great club apart lets just get behind glen and the team and hope for the best finish we can and that cullum will have a change of heart an dwill pay delia and mjw for their shares and not expect them for free as seems to be the case now.

Yeh, well played BB, The cute banner is not a reasonable response fella. [holds hands in head for the 9th time today]
 8.

I think name calling isn''t necessary, is it? Just makes you look like a 13 year old girl.
Says you, you numpty [8-)]
sheeesh... {hold head in hands for about the 8th time today}
 9.
Coney is so good he has been known to score with other parts of his body bar feet or head, whilst looking away from the goal! An exceptional talent!!
I can categorically confirm this. If you look closely on the video of said goal (propelled by posterior) I am the ball boy dancing with joy. All I can remember from the experience is being told in no uncertain terms that if the opposition get a throw in with a couple of minutes to go then you might want to limp slightly toward the ball if you know what I mean.... Oh and the fact that the tracksuit I was given was split all the way in the er trouser area and I had to run on in front of 22000 odd looking like I really needed to go...
 10.
The Board declare that the terms of the proposed Cullum take-over deal were not ''not in the best interest of the club & it''s stakeholders''.     -   IN THEIR OPINION!. Why not provide us stakeholders (& perhaps season ticket holders) with the facts & invite us to participate in a referendum to assist in ALL of us making a decision as to whether any such deal should be pursued/completed? Hmmm. And once we get the "facts" whatever they are, what might the question be? And who would set the question I wonder?
11.

It was a joint statement....... "Very best efforts of both sides..........amicable discussions." Well if Delia and Co are lying then so is Mr Cullum.
Why do you post on here ? You''re not a Norwich fan are you ?
Bill. Saying something 3 times doesn''t make a comment sensible. The forum is for discussion about Norwich City, not an exclusive preserve of NCFC fans.
 12.
Well done CT - flushed the obvious ones out there. You can always spot them as they begin with words such as ''I''m not a delia fan but.....''
What a silly thing to say. [holds head in hands]
 13.

Typical for this message board, people swearing and having a go a Delia without all the facts...of course she''s in the wrong, it couldn''t be the billionaire businessman as he''s willing to pay £20m for players.  He could do no wrong. (Cue the insults) "Peter Cullum and the directors of Norwich City Football Club plc have been unable to agree a mutually acceptable basis upon which they can meet the stated objectives of Peter Cullum whilst still ensuring compliance with the current legal and contractual obligations of the Club" When you look at the above statement it throws up more questions than answers, and to me it throws up more questions on PC''s side.  Most importantly, what are the legal obligations that can''t be met with his proposed takeover? While I would love the club, that I have been a season ticket holder of since I started working, to have £20m for players; all along I have been questioning the deal.  I didn''t think that it was right that he uses headlines to push it without any detail.  Even now people don''t know if it''s £20m + stake in club or the £20m for players is what gives him a stake in the club.  And before anyone says, it''s fine saying that now the deal has collapsed - check my previous posts.
Although we may never know all the details, I got the strong impression from the statements in the EDP etc that the offer was £20 million for players but that was it with no more for shares etc.  If that was the case then presumably the expectation was that the current majority shareholders (and potentially all shareholders for that matter) would have handed over their shares for absolutely nothing.  Whilst I am as disappointed as everyone else that our "little" club is now going to contine being a "little" club, this offer was highly unlikely to succeed.  We''re simply not in that much of a desperate situation that all shareholders would be willing to give away their shares for nothing.
Exactly.  That''s a point I''ve been trying to put across for the last 2 weeks.  There are some people who just don''t understand that.  Unfortunately it appears that they don''t understand common sense and reasoned discussion.  To them it''s just "**** off Delia", "The board has failed and must go" and "F**K***G BIACH...SHE MUST GO" And to the person who said that there will be 25,000 people who will be calling for their heads - I''m afraid you are wrong there.  There are people out there who are not like some of the narrow minded individuals that you get on here, they look at more than the headline in the paper and understand that there is more to the offer than putting in £20m to the team - and it may not be a good deal in the long run. If PC knew that the offer was a no-go last October, why did he go so public and set up those headlines.  Those stories were just targeting the things that fans look for, just to create a divide.  It has worked.  Is that in the best interest of the club? If he was so much behind the club why did he purposely want to create the split.  To me it sounds like he is trying to manipulate the media and fans to get his own way.  If so then I say it''s not in the best interests of the club. All I''m trying to do here is put some balance to the arguement, with something a bit more intelligent and constructive than "F**K***G BIACH...SHE MUST GO".  I don''t think that PC is the devil or that Delia is a saint.  I think that we don''t have enough facts to be having a go at either of them. I know I won''t be one who is calling for the heads of the board, as we could do a lot worse... (http://www.pinkun.com/cs/forums/1300975/ShowPost.aspx)
I''m to dispondent to write much. I do agree with you dhickl, what was looking like an interesting pre season with the usual hope of something beyond what we would reasonably expect has turned into a nightmare redolent of the the end of the chase era. I am so diaspointed they haven''t managed to come to some sort of arrangement. I cannot understand why a man with such professed "Norfolk roots" and such a "lifelong supporter" would engage in this kind of brinkmanship. Surely Mr Cullum will now make public (using his favoured weapon the EDP)  the revised bid he made for the club that has been deemed unacceptable.  Please tell me it wasn''t just the frankly risible £20M for the lot raid was it? if it wasn''t the board need to answer. If it was i''ll be disgusted.
 14. This better not involve young women, bats and bras.....
 15.
strange to see NU getting so involved in all of this though, isn''t it.  What with them spending years stating that they''d never get involved in football sponsorship because the average football fan wasn''t their "target audience" for advertising, whereas Athletics was... Nothing about class in there, honest guv''nor!
EM, I wonder given Aviva''s intention to phase out the NU brand over a period of years this will change their marketing strategy in this area. Annecdotally i''ve heard that the NU "high quality / premium" branding was proving less successful in some markets. Possibly the move to Aviva branding will make for an updated image which will be more atuned to football as part of an "everyman" image. Then again they could just of changed their mind and be mitigating local unhappiness with the name change!
 16.

Forum stakeholders, we must see Master shack''s contribution as an intergral strand of a wider body of work exploring different paradigms to present the proposed incumbent Mr Cullum with a synergistic homogenous  "forum" solution to enable us to move onward together in the spirt becoming our mission statement and values.
It seems clear you have a basic grasp of modern management theory but you still seem a little confused in terms of the bigger picture.  Might I suggest we adopt the current favoured approach of those of us "working" in central government and produce a Project Initiation Document outlining our current assumptions and the strategic context, appoint a Senior Responsible Owner for the piece of work, then get in a firm of consultants to process map the whole thing and design us a scorecard (a balanced one is always preferable I find) so we can see how successful we have been both in terms of the learning journey and the end state model.  This should really streamline delivery and allow a user focus to come to the fore within a defined regulatory framework that works in an innovative manner across a spectrum of partnerships including those with the third sector.  If we are lucky it will deliver efficiency savings as we become better able to align service capacity and demand. Don''t laugh by the way - all of these gems (and many others) genuinely appear in a draft Corporate Plan for a real Government Agency I was asked to comment on this week.  We have been playing buzz word bingo with it in the office all day!
Sir, I bow to your superior TMS skills. I alas work in the private sector and am responsible every once in a while for "doing something" or "hitting target". Consequently I have not been keeping my word skills up to date! Not that I would suggest that those in government struggle with the "doing stuff" piece at all...
 17.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/7495892.stm "I greatly admire what Delia and Michael have done for the club and want them to be a part of it going forward" We simply cannot let a man who uses corporate guff such as this to take charge of our once great club. SOD OFF CULLUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alternatively if Mr C gives us loads of money I don''t care if he talks management nonsense. I listen to it lots and get paid... after a while it just drifts over the head....
 18. Well done Tom! A 2:1 shows that you spent too much time in the library and not enough time in the union! What a waste of 3 years......
 19.
FIRST OF ALL BECAUSE THIS IS ENGLISH LESSON NOT A FORUM I WILL PUT EVERYTHING IN CAPITALS. ANYWAY WHAT I MEANT  ABOUT  GLENN ROEDER WAS HE WAS LOVEING ALL THE PLAUDITS  WHEN WE WHENT ON THAT GREAT RUN LAST SEASON EVERYONE WAS CROWING ON ABOUT HOW GREAT HE WAS BUT WAS`NT HE STILL MESSING WITH TATICS WITCH ALSO NEARLY GOT US RELEGATED .  HE THEN GAVE THE SQUAD A JOLLY UP (in)  SPAIN CAME BACK THEN WE WHENT  ON RELEGATION FORM NOT THE SIGN OF GOOD MANAGER . [H]
Sorry Chris, couldn''t resist it! Oh and I don''t agree, we were buried last October and the manager dragged us out.
 20. And you sir don''t like punctuation! As for the point, the really good managers don''t get worked up under pressure. People such as say, Alex Ferguson possibly? He hasn''t won a lot.
 21.

Evil monkey you are wrong. The reason men have nipples is "for practice".
Good lord you must have a long neck.
Or maybe a maliable chest!
 22. There''s always that bit of you that would love it to be true, in a peverse Orwelian / matrix kind of way, (Who''s that at the door, what, follow a white rabbit..er sorry not tonight doing my hair) Only pity is: Point 2 of the Data protection act 1998Information may be:processed for one or more specified and lawful purposes, and not further processed in any way that is incompatible with the original purpose I imagine this would probably preclude the club acting in this fashion. Is that the door bell, "why Mr D, do come in sir....... tea?"
 23.
Chrisr, while I see your points and they are well made, I have to interject on the basis that there is a difference between banter between people, and comments made against people. As you state, 80% of stuff on here is, arguably, in breach of that rule - but I bet it falls into that banter category. As much as we hate to admit it, there is a bit of keyboard warrior in most here, myself included. It''s natural when it comes to something like football that invokes passions for there to be clashes of heads and for banter to go a bit over the top. I, like most I would suspect, forget it all (with the exception of 1st Wizard) as soon as I log out or close the computer down. However, a line has got to be drawn, and comparisons of Delia Smith to Robert Mugabe, even satirical ones, are well beyond that line and shouldn''t need justifying or reasoning. The same as posts from another recent thread where another user (now banned, thankfully) suggested I should kill myself by hanging or sticking my head in an oven. These are simply disgusting, disgraceful comments that crosses that line, IMO. Thankfully, we have a group of moderators that seem to agree.
Yes MMM, I''m with you on consideration. I saw a different thread earlier commenting on this where the Rwandan massacre was used satirically. I first recoiled in disgust before just being relieved that it was satirical. I took the Mugabe comment as immediately ironic (because I couldn''t see anyone in their right mind making an actual comparison). But it is all in how it is recieved. I guess this kind of stuff is best left on the comedy stage or in the pub. (or maybe the terraces, sorry but last year''s "childhood obesity" chant at carrow rd was pure satire)I wonder though that much of the vitroil this week has gone way beyond banter on many sides.
