1. I shall "boldly go" to Blue Square North Alfreton Town  v  Vauxhall Motors  (home win) Best of luck Mr Bump, I think you might need it [+o(]
 2. aaarrrggghhh! I thought this subject was done to death in the bad old days 2006-9 when underachievement was sanctioned by sellout crowds.  Call that loyalty?  I don''t.
 3. Top 10 but not Top 6 was where I started the season.  No reason to change it as yet.
 4. My nap this week is Rangers  v  St Johnstone  (home win)   Good luck Doris [Y]
 5. The team isn''t ready for promotion this season unless we''re only interested in being one season wonders, and neither is the manager, good as he is.  If we did go up it would just show how carp the rest of this league is.  Finish just outside the playoffs, add a bit more quality next season and now you''re talking.
 6.
Hopkins Homes now building on the site and will be called Scholar''s Quarter with 113 houses/flats and seven offices. Let''s hope it''s not too chalky underneath....
lol pete, whatever makes you think they''d build there if the ground was like a swiss cheese underneath, no surely not [;)]
 7.

Can''t say I''m overly arsed lol. A win would be nice, and keeping the winning habit would be good, and getting fringe players involved in the absence of a reserve league would be handy, and we may make some cash. So, on balance, a win would be good, but if we lost I certainly wouldn''t lose much sleep, I would take 3 points on Saturday at Forest over a win tonight. [:)]
Can''t be arsed ffs! [:@] I get incredibly irate by this attitude that the League Cup doesn''t matter, especially from older fans like yourself who should know better -- a run in the cup is good revenue and winning the fu*cker is actually qualification for the UEFA Cup - two pretty major reasons to want to do well in the competition I''d say. Of course Lambert is hoping the likes of Fox, Lappin & Askou will be out to impress this evening, but I''m a little peeved he''s resting form players, especially so early in the season - surely fitness levels of professional footballers are high enough to cope with three matches in eight days ffs. Let us football fans who care about the League Cup hope that Lambert''s gamble pays off with the selected players playing out of their skins to advance in what IS a very important competition.
I agree with you Shyster [:O] If we were going all out for promotion this year then I accept that the league would take precedence, but imo promotion this year is neither possible nor desirable.
 8.
The bloke I sit next to at work is a Forest fan. He reckons they are in a little bit of trouble. There''s rumblings that Billy Davis has fallen out with yet another Board.
Has he heard the rumour about Martin O''Neill possibly taking over?  It seems to be based purely on the fact that O''Neill played for Forest for about 10 years at the height of Cloughie''s career when they won two European Cups.  Was on 5 Live last night.
 9. I wasn''t at the game but let''s hope it was just an off day and he''s not about to be sold . . .
 10. He was also improved against Gillingham, ok they''re League 1 but they didn''t come to defend and he had to make some difficult saves.
 11.
I once saw him drooling over a picture of Jamie Scowcroft, and if he doesn''t deny it by midnight then it''s double-true.
Exactly.  He was always going on about "Jamie Lad" wasn''t he . . . [;)]
 12. I''m off to Denmark this week FC Copenhagen  v  Lyngby  (home win) Very best of luck Scooby [Y]
 13. Rudolph . . . it''s not the EEN any more it''s the Norwich Evening News.  Only noticed it myself the other day. [8-|]
 14. I nearly went for Huddersfield, on paper it looked good but as we know football is played on grass not paper.
 15.
No We are 10th after 2 games will be quite happy with that at the end of the season
Ditto
 16. My nap this week is Rangers  v Kilmarnock  (home win) best of luck Mr Slob [Y]
 17. Ward''s distribution a bit wayward/aimless at times but solid otherwise. I thought Ruddy had a good game, had some difficult saves to make as Gillingham didn''t come to defend.  Likes to throw the ball out to get an attack going but also has a long straight kick when required, and a very loud shout. Fox may need a bit of time to adjust to the base of the diamond role, he looks more like an orthodox CM to me.  Picked out Hoolahan with a lovely pass which he fired just wide from an acute angle.
 18.

As much as I like Lambert, I would take that trade in a second!
So MON can throw his toys out of the pram here, quit us too, and leave us in the lurch? Ok, maybe that''s a bit extreme. Surprising, but then it sounds as though they just weren''t giving him the backing he needed at all. I think he''ll take a well deserved break and eventually take charge of a another big club, for he clearly has the potential to do well with them.
I don''t know? Maybe I''m being very naive here, but I take MON to be a very genuine bloke. I don''t think he''d do something like that without good reason. I don''t think he left us without just cause. I think all this Milner business seems to have been the ''proverbial straw'' as it were. I don''t think he''d do something like just to have a ''hissy fit''.
He left Norwich in a hissy fit because he couldn''t sign Dean Windass.
He left Norwich because Chase enticed him here with promises of money he didn''t have.  Chase then signed Flecky against O''Neill''s wishes to appease the fans, and when O''Neill wanted to sign a player of his own (Windass) Chase prevaricated for about 2 months and then pulled out of the deal,.  Chase wanted O''Neill to be a head coach, O''Neill wanted to be a manager. If the rumours about US coach Bob Bradley coming to Villa turn out to be true, you have to wonder if this isn''t a case of constructive dismissal - Lerner wanted O''Neill out and did it by pushing him beyond the limit over team strengthening.
 19.
Bad luck Davo, the first week of a new season is a betting minefield so no reflection on you as a picker.[Y]
Ain''t that the truth - the Champ is rather unpredictable at the best of times, but even Marseille who looked nailed on at 2/9 lost at home to Caen [:O] Were there even 6 winning picks to choose from? The PUPs league is carnage already! [:D]
 20. Great to be back! My selection this week is Marseille  v  Caen    home win Good luck everyone [Y]
 21. Today Charlton got their fans to turn up at the Valley with buckets and sponges and clean the seats.  All the fans who turned up got a free ticket. Well done them [Y]
 22.
No problem Cherub. I will re-schedule you for a turn in the autumn.
Thanks nutty - and respect to Billy Dixon for sponsoring the PUPs again [*]
