  1. I think tomorrow's game will be tight, so the value is on us as outsiders. Sargent anytime scorer at 3/1 or the enhanced Norwich 2-1 at 16/1 look the best value.
  2. Yeah, we'd have to spend a lot of money all over the pitch, and so there wouldn't be much for a new starting left back. But I'd rather take a gamble on someone relatively cheap and unproven who might be good enough rather than give a contract to someone who we're almost certain isn't up to it. However, we're getting a little too far ahead of ourselves even discussing this.
  3. Sebastien Bassong. His Norwich career was killed around Easter, but later resurrected thanks to the second coming of the Messiah.
  4. Stuart Webber. Every time he opens his mouth, I think 'Jesus Christ' 🤦🏻‍♂️
  5. Oh, and I also agree with this. We'd need a whole new starting back four if we were to get promotion.
  6. Spot on. With Giannoulis, I think that if we go up, he isn't good enough to start, and if we don't, he's too expensive. McCallum is no worse and wouldn't command the wages Giannoulis does, so I'd keep him if we stay in the Championship and possibly also as an inexpensive backup if we go up.
  7. Whilst I do love a stat, even xA isn't always that useful. Sainz laid two tap-ins for Sargent on a plate yesterday, but in both cases, Sargent didn't read the delivery and therefore didn't get on the end of them. Sainz should've got an xA of about 0.5 for each of those, maybe more for one of them, but I'm guessing that not only do they count as zero for xA, they also go down as unsuccessful crosses.
  8. Oh yeah, it's still going to be an incredibly tough game, but I think that yet another poor result yesterday is more likely to go in our favour than work against us.
  9. I'd argue that the continuation of their poor form makes it easier. They've been in a rut for several weeks and it's still going. A win yesterday would've given them confidence, but as it is, the doubts and the fear of completing one of the biggest Championship bottle-jobs of all time remain.
  10. The defence did look a lot more sloppy today than it has recently, I agree. I wouldn't be too alarmed though and hopefully it was just a blip, because it has improved quite a bit since the autumn. Even though Sorensen has done OK since his introduction, I'd feel more comfortable with Duffy in there ahead of him over the next two games. It would sacrifice quality on the ball, but we're likely to be tested more defensively by higher quality teams so probably need the defensive security and leadership that Duffy would provide.
  11. Yup, agreed. And strangely enough, if we did end up playing them, I'd think we'd see it as more of a bonus to be there on an equal footing with them based on our respective seasons and they'd feel the pressure far more than us.
  12. I think that's a bit harsh on Sargent. His first touch isn't his best quality, but he's so much more direct and clinical than he used to be, and he's really thriving now that he's out of Pukki's shadow. He has come on leaps and bounds this season and both our record with him in the team and his own numbers show how important he is to us. Despite his goal, I don't think his overall performance today was as good as they have been recently though. He just didn't seem quite as sharp as usual and probably should've had a couple of tap ins from crosses which Sainz laid on a plate.
  13. I'd argue that it was a pretty straightforward decision, to be fair. From my view in the River End, it looked as clear a dive as you're going to see. Overall, he had a good game. I think a couple of the Plymouth bookings were very soft, although he could've booked a couple for time wasting, so swings and roundabouts.
  14. Indeed, McLean and Sainz were head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch today for me.
  15. Realistically, they don't have much to play for anymore being so far clear at the top, but Inter should bave few problems beating Empoli at 2/9.
  16. Eddie Izzard didn't have to perform multiple high intensity sprints.
  17. This whole controversy over tweaking the colour of the flag really is baffling considering that nobody seemed to bat an eyelid when Adidas did this at the 2012 Olympics (and it wasn't just the football team, it was every sport):
  18. Starts tonight against France and scores after six minutes. Panic over.
  19. She's Zoe Webber professionally now: https://www.canaries.co.uk/club/board-and-executive She made the switch from Ward to Webber a year or so ago, I believe.
  20. Could've sworn I've read that he grew up in South London, but if you say he grew up in Milton Keynes, I'm happy to take your word on it.
  21. I'm guessing that he means, Lewis aside, they all grew up in rough areas of London? But yeah, claiming that five young black men could've ended up in jail if not for football could easily be seen as having racist undertones as mentioned in the opening post. Such comments are probably best avoided in 2024. Not like Webber to put his foot in it during an interview, is it?
  22. Isn't Wagner known for having the most punishing preseason training schedule out of all coaches at this level?
