1. Good!   Forget all the unwarranted scapegoat crap that many people go on about Doc (and Shacks for that matter), hes a solid defender and it would take a lot of money to replace him!   Some people seem to think that a defender should never give it a big lump, never gets stretched, or that players in general are robots and never make mistkes. Well in the real world a defenders first job is to defend and sometimes that requires the big lump. I''ve also thought its a good measure of a defender if he is able to do a good job when stretched. Also if you watch any top class game the players make mistakes.    Obviously Taylor was the best centreback at the club when he was with us and probably would be if he does eventually rejoin but he made mistakes and people ignored them while if Doc does something the ''scapegoaters'' soon start ''crowing''!
2. Norwich City football club has the potential to be a top 10 Premiership outfit on a regular basis.   Our fanbase and regular big crowds home and away have been amazing considering we''ve not had a really good season and league finish since the Championship campaign in 2003/04. In the future when funds allow we definately should be looking to increase ground capacity to at least 35,000 cause we''d certainly fill it during successful times.   The whole club on the non football side is run really and is geared for the Premiership. The only thing thats been missing is a little bit of ambition on the footballing side. We''ve held back and/or made bad decisions on numourous occasions which has cost us badly, eg,  not giving O Neill funds not spending money on Peter Crouch or Ashton at the start of the Premiership season, keeping Worthy a year too long etc.   Its long been a stereotype to label Norwich as a small club while others who''ve not got our fanbase are seen as being bigger clubs!   I hate it when we are described as a small club cause that isn''t the case at all. Apart from the big 4 and about 6-8 more maybe there is no club bigger or with our potential. Bankrolled clubs like Blackburn, Wigon, Fulham and Readin maybe bigger in terms of league status and currently having better teams, but no way when you look at the potential and fanbase are they big enough!   It annoys me when with no disrespect clubs far smaller than us are bankrolled yet we never have been to that extent even though we have more support and more potential of a return on the millions.
3. Its not going to happen according to the official site! But a  loan spell at a lower league club is just the kick up the backside Martin needs to help rediscover the great promise and desire he showed us last season.   If after a loan spell or two and another year at Carrow Road he hasn''t progressed then it''d be time to get rid cause we have kept not good enough youngsters like Ryan Jarvis and last summers departure Ian Henderson far too long!
4. I agree with much of your post but in fairness, we needed results straight away and Martins not been good enough this year and would you of put Spillane in front of anyone other than woeful loanees Gibbs and Henry?   Roeders done a marvellous job so far taking from where we were in October to our present position but he made a bad error in playing messrs Gibbs and Henry in preference to the more expereineced, better players and more up for it Hucks and Pattison!
5. Henry is rubbish not good enough for the Championship so why would Roeder want to keep him?
6.

Hes right!   If your not athletic, strong and willing to get stuck in you''ll never make the grade especially at Championship level!   Thats the reason why the Jarvis Bros will never make it and why the 2 loanees Gibbs and Henry have been awful in their limited time with us though we hope if they are play again that they''ve got more than what we''ve seen so far!
Hughes was athletic, strong and willing to get stuck in, as was Robinson, Etuhu, Strihavka and Brown. Key thing to remember here is that we are not talking about rugby. At the end of the day they have to be able to beat the opposition at football.
I''d rather have any of them above mentioned players rather than Gibbs, Henry and the Jarvis bros!
7. Both lightweights, though Henry is not any better!
8. Good on him hes dead right!   Glad that some of the players are as frustrated as we are at the weak squad and half the loan players being crap!
9. Rambles maybe but can see some sense out of them!   Just cause a player plays for England U19''s doesn''t gaurantee he''ll become a wonder player - Afterall look at the Jarvis Bros neither are going to be good enough for anything other than 4th Division at best and our steady but very unspectacular Daryl Sutch played for England U21''s!    Gibbs was like a scared kid afraid to express himself against Hull. He maybe highly rated but unless we hit a crisis like Saturday is turning out to be them he doesn''t deserve another chance!   As for Mr Henry - Unless he starts getting stuck in and looking just a little bit determined then he''ll not make the grade and I certainly don''t want to see him play our club again. Glens done a great job so far but omitting Pattison and Hucks for clearly not ready for it and up for it loanees has been a massive own goal!
10. Compared to the crap we''ve got in the reserves and the woeful recent loan acqusitions then yes Mr Lappin come back ASAP!
11.

I know there has been alot of talk about the lad lately both on here and on Arsenal forums and people are probably a bit fed up with hearing about him but I''m a bit fed up with peolpe telling me that we have been too harsh on the lad and we haven''t given him a proper chance. Please let me explain: His 58 minute runout for us against Hull was, lets be honest, diabolical. This assessment is based on his performance only. Forget where he has come from, forget the so called gentlemans agreement to get him here, forget the fact he is a mere sibling, forget the fact that the circumstances of that particular match didn''t suite his playing style. All this has got nothing to do with the fact he was poor. Without blowing my own trumpet I reckon I could have put in a better 58 minutes that match. He was well out of his depth. I personally wouldn''t want to see him play for Norwich City again this season. There is way too much work to be done to warrant it, it wouldn''t be fair on the lad and it wouldnt be fair to the club........The club must always comes first. Maybe one day he will become a Star Premiership player, however sadly for the lad I very much doubt it......Star Premiership players can perform in the Championship. He wasn''t even close to a performance. Please don''t accuse me of being harsh on the lad or over reacting, that is not what I wanted. I simply want to see the best eleven selected on a game by game basis. Roeder knows what is best for the club and we should stand by any decisions he makes. Sadly, I am sure Roeder will play Gibbs again. I hope the lad proves me wrong. I know football well enough. He won''t. At this moment in time he simply hasn''t developed the required tools for our level.
What absolute rubbish you are talking! I bet you did not even go to the game, did you? It was our tactics to attack down the right side because hull were playing a striker as a left back. So we were hoping to expose this. Every attack was down the right side using croft. It was not Gibbs fault that we froze him out all night. You should be questioning the tactics or the other players not getting him involved anymore than he was. So get off his back!!!! Also was confidence are muppets like you giving these youngsters? None! So until you know what you are talking about and anything about football i suggest you keep it buttoned shut!!!!!
Gibbs was hiding away from the ball whether you accept it or not!   Good prospect he maybe but so were the Jarvis Bros and Henderson and he''ll not make a pro player if he plays like he did against Hull too many times!
13. Nows heres the real truth!-   Huckerby - Great player, but hasn''t been on top form at times this season so at times hasn''t deserved to be an automatic choice. If hes not going to sign a new contract at the end of this season then it''ll be a shame but at this time he is still under contract until the end of the season and still a major threat who should be playing.  To leave him (and for that matter Pattison) out for the 2 out of their depth loanees is absolutely criminal. Whilst I''m not suggesting we''d of won at Leicester on Saturday with Hucks we''d of certainly been more competitive as we were playing with 10 men before Russell got sent off!   Roeder - Done wonders since he come into the club. Hes turned us from relegation certainties to a team with a slight glimmer of a chance of the play offs! But hes doing himself no favours in playing the 2 loanees Gibbs and Henry and not playing Pattison and Hucks!   Delia - done a great job and put plenty of moeny into the club which was neccessary! Though if someone with more finance came in she ought to step aside!
14. I have to agree with the first post - Regardless of whether hes an Arsenal player and  plays for England U19s he was totally shocking against Hull though I sincerely hope hes better than that, he doesn''t deserve another chance unless we have a crisis which is Saturday looking at things!   Exactly the same thing applies with the other totally out of his depth loanee Mr Henry from Reading. He was painfull to watch at Leicester and if hes a better bet than Pattison or Huckerby then I''m Beethovens lovechild!   Another worrying aspect is todays EDP backpage where the blatantly not good enough and never going to good enough lightweight midfielder Rossi Jarvis is hoping for a recall on Saturday! Though he did get something right in saying that the loanees (obviously hes not referring to Evans!) are no better than him!   I''m a firm advocate of playing your best available team regardless of future contract decisions or promises to Premiership clubs to play their crap loanees!
15. Iam grateful for the sterling job that Glen Roeder has done for Norwich City since becoming manager in October!   He has turned us from relegation certainties to a team that is very close to securing safety for next season and in the process has made some good decisions when bringing in players and shipping out deadwood!   But yesterday at Leicester I felt cheated for myself and for the other 3000+ fans present.   As with Gibbs last Tuesday against Hull, Henry the loanee from Reading gave a poor performance that was lacking of any commitment, bottle and aparent ability to do any good for the team. Playing him upset the balance of our team and then Roeder swapped him over flanks with Croft which effectively put Croft out of the game as he was playing out of position.   Playing the likes of Gibbs and Henry instead of far more capable players in namely Pattison and Hucks doesn''t make any sense especially when you consider we aren''t safe yet and still had a chance of creeping into the play offs. Its obvious that Roeder has ''issues'' with Hucks and it look like hes going at the end of the season but the fact is that now hes still under contract to us still a potential match winner although not as effective this year but still far superior to scared young loanees who don''t look good enough!    Comon Glen you rightfully got rid of Hartson cause he wasn''t doing enough but he was more threatening and effective than Gibbs and Henry have been so far!   Your going against your earlier ethics in playing ineffective out of their depth players like Henry and Gibbs instead of Hucks and Pattison!   Personal issues with a player like Hucks shouldn''t be made to effect the team!
16. Precisely!   Henry isn''t good enough for Norwich if his totally inept, uncommited performance against Leicaster yesterday is anything to go by!   Hucks or Pattison are far more capable than either Gibbs or Henry!
17. 4 Loan players signed on deadline day -   Bates - Looked very capable and gets stuck in, but we won''t see again this season.   Gibbs - one 60 minute totally inept out of his depth, hiding away from the ball performance against Hull at home. I hope for our sakes that hes got more to offer than what we saw that game!   Henry - A cameo few minutes display against Preston, not long enough to do ought. 60 minute inept, out of depth, bottling it performance against Leicester yesterday. Doesn''t look no where near good enough - Lets hope hes far better than what we''ve seen so far!   If  loan players don''t get stuck in at least when making their first appearances for their new team when they should be looking to make an impression then it doesn''t bode well for their future careers in the game. Every player is capable of making mistakes and having off days but if the commitment and effort are missing as well then it looks like a lost cause! Why Roeder will fail is the headline of this thread - Well from where I''m standing, he will fail if he continues to plays out of their depth, scared  young loanees rather than much more capable and proven players like Pattison or Hucks.
18. The Doc had a few wobbles but other than that played OK - its gets tiring people constantly making him the fall guy!   The biggest problem yesterday was that we were playing 10 men even before Russell was sent of!   Henry was so far out of his depth it was painful to watch. He bottled out of tackle and didn''t chase any loose balls. His inclusion at the expense of either Pattison or Hucks defies belief!
19. No one sensible doubts for one minute that Glen has done a good job and we''d of all taken our current position in October!   But I felt cheated at Leicester yesterday and so I''d of thought most of the other 3000+ fans did as well!   Henry was nearly as ineffective and inept as what Gibbs was on Tuesday yet we had the far more capable Pattison on the bench and Hucks not even in squad!   We wouldn''t of beaten anyone in the league playing like we did yesterday and we aren''t safe yet so now is not the time to play with understrength teams just cause of personality clashes with one of your better players and trying justify loan players who do not look anywhere near good enough!   Glen should explain why Hucks is getting overlooked in favour of  ''crap'' loan players!   I''m not fickle - I just says things as they are!
20. I was at Cardiff and the Hull home game and can catagorically say that Hucks did more in 20 minutes than what Gibbs did in 60 minutes the next game.   Hucks made a few runs and gave Cardiff something to think about. While Gibbs gave one of the most inept performances I''ve ever seen in a Norwich shirt against Hull. He blatantly bottled it by hiding away from the ball, looked hopelessly out of position and offered no threat to Hull whatsoever. So what if he is highly rated and has played for England U19''s- the Jarvis brothers were highly rated and have played for England U19''s and we all know how inpet they are!   To compare Hucks performance against Cardiff to Gibbs'' against Hull is laughable. - Oh and on the subject of inept loanee performances - Henry was painfull to watch at Leicester yesterday. The fact that Roeder switched him over with Croft effectively playing Crofty out of position and with the much more capable Pattision on the bench and Hucks not even in the squad made watching Henry even more painfull! Glen - Great job done so far but omitting Hucks and playing inept loan players just cause you don''t get on with Hucks is not right!
21. I think Hucks is still worth another years deal as hes still got that extra dimension. Its only last year that he got player of the year and almost singlehandedly saved us from the drop last year after Earnie was injured!   He should be starting games now cause it was painful on Tuesday night watching Keiron Gibbs perform so badly and look so far out of his depth!
22. Always thought the bloke could play but the combination of being in a new foriegn Country, our Championship being a notoriously physical, difficult but low on quality league the club going through a disasterous  spell under a manager not up to the job and the enevitable change of manager eventually took its toll in the end.   I bet in a slower paced sort of football like that normally found on the continent Strihavka can be mustard!
23. Gibbs debut - Awful, was hiding away from the ball and was bottling going in for tackles - No positive input for the team at all. Looked way out of his depth.   Hope for our sake he improves if he gets another chance with us!   Hucks must start home games!
24. Gibbs was awful last night. He looked like he was scared to receive the ball and looked out of his depth. Obviously a player with those atitbrutes will upset the balance of the team.   Huckerby should be starting cause hes miles in front of a scared youngster!
