i think paul mcveigh will do a good job.
Yorkshire Canary replied to singing canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Mc Veigh has talent as did his good friend Mulryne. Booze has been the ruin of both of them and unless he has turned over a new leaf i see little to get excited about -
Anyone know when the club is going to send out the cheques?

No Money to Pay Wages this Month.....
Yorkshire Canary replied to 3canaries's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
They dont deserve to be paid for a few months! -
We need to get real, there is very little loyalty amongst players. he had a decent season but the last third was a shadow of himself. I think he had more or less decided to cash in on a Bosman then. On the other hand neither do we think twice when we let a lot of players go, many who will fall ot of football all together
let''s face it, if you were Leroy lita, would this not just be the easiest thing to do, he''s got potential to be a premiership striker, so he could come here, bang in 20, and be idolised by at least 20k people every week. If we have him for 40 weeks, that''s 400k per season, better than trying to find a decent striker and having 3 goes at it, we might as well get a proven one. Stick him alongside a big rough''un like Lee and he''d do well. It ain''t as if he''s got an international career to uphold. He knows the place, enjoyed it here, and wouldn''t get more money than that in the Championship, the only difference for him would be the standard of football, which could be a bonus for him. We might as well have a real good go at it 1st season down here, it''ll be our best chance for a while. As we all know, one of the golden rules in league 1 is to have a 20 goal a season man, maybe cody could be that, but why bother gamble when we know Lita would bang them in for fun. I think if we offload Cureton and Pattison and that, we can have the funds to keep Dejan, Clingan(if he can possibly stay), hoolahan and still get Lita. How about the board promised Lita and Lee up top next season in exchange for the rebate, even in the unlikely event it failed, i''m sure people would be happy the board had the balls to make this decision. We will probably have a total player salary bill of £4m or less. £10 000 a week for Lita is over £500 000 of that so everyone else would have to be pretty cheap Maybe even offer him 100k bonus for getting more than 20 goals, and a 50percent wage rise upon promotion, or a lump sum. We are entering unchartered waters here. The £8m of last season will be a thing of the past. I was interested though to read that Carlisle Utd who struggled in league 1 last season had a £2m wage bill. that is food for thought if we are to attract better players. My guess would be that we will have a bill on or around £4 m which could bring it once again within the range pad by the paying public particularly as season tickets sales have been very resilient

We Cannot Afford Top League 1 Players
Yorkshire Canary replied to Yorkshire Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I dont think things are quite that bad, but some reality needs to kick in for example all this Lita crap is deluded -
Am I the only person...
Yorkshire Canary replied to InLambertWeTrust!'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think he was thinking about being off even before the end of the season. he wants and deserves to be in a top Championship side or even a lower Premiership one. That will not have happened to us before he retires -
This alas is the sad reality. It would seem that we cannot afford the likes of Lee or Shackell. swindon have a good young striker whoes name escapes me but they have turned down a £1.2 M bid and want over £2m. as for Beckford we are deluded if we thinh he would come even if we could afford him, perhaps if we were in the Championship but not league 1. i sense it will be the mid range league 1 players we have to settle for or top of league 2 who would probably be in the £200 000 to £400 000 range lets see

Croft's Transfer Close To Being Completed.
Yorkshire Canary replied to Captain Holt's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
He had made his mind up to leave in the last quarter of the season . I think this is why his performances tailed off. perhaps we should have sold him when we had a chance but the fans would have howled with criticism. a lesson to be learned for the future, sort contracts out well in advance or get rid -
If we cann ot keep the like of Marshall and Croft i think you have your answer NO

Off to renew my season tickets
Yorkshire Canary replied to Canary Pirate's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Just thought I''d let you know am off to Carruh ruud to renew 2 company season tickets and 3 personal season tickets. The company tickets proved very popular with customers and 3 of them decided to purchase their own season tickets as they enjoyed the experience. I just thought I''d wait til after the deadline as I was pretty sure we would go down after the 2 - 2 draw with Southampton so there would be no rush. After all the changes that have occurred since ie none ! I have decided nothing has made me angry enough to not renew. Am quite looking forward to the new season and the challenges ahead. Guess I''m a happy clapper......whatever, my money to blow as I like and all that ! OTBC [:)]
well done join the rest of the 18000 of us -
lee hughes??
Yorkshire Canary replied to westcountrycanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
We need to have standards at this club. That man may have gone through a legal process but i do not say that equals paying for what he has done. There is no way i want people like that playing for my club which is built on family values -
What did the Meeting Achieve ?????
Yorkshire Canary replied to Jakesacanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The meeting did not achieve anything and never was. fair enough it gave some fans the chance to let off a bit of steam. The club is run by 2 people and they by and large do what they want. Nothing will change unless we either go bust in which case they will lose their cash or new buyers come in. The latter is most unlikeley in the present climate. So i guess it is going on the way we have been , but possibly due a bit of good fortune -
Yes no problem

you have to be mad to put cash into a football club unless there is an emotional link. The only people likely to put there hands in their pockets are local people who have the clubs interests at heart

Sense at last in Transfer targets
Yorkshire Canary replied to Yorkshire Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Well look at teams like Doncaster and a few years ago Colchester came up to the Championship with players from league 1 and 2 that noone had heard of. Doncaster stayed up with ease and the Colchester squad broke up with several now playing in the premiership and championship. The influx of foreign players into the top 2 leagues has forced a lot of good british players into the lower leagues who are desperate for a chance. Only time will tell -
Despite all the controversy i was very please to hear Gunns explanation of out future transfer policy. he is to target proven league 1 and 2 players. This is exactly what we should have done several years ago instead of the constant loans. There are some very good prospects in the lower divisions many who could make the step up to a higher level. many are "hungry" to prove themselves and despite what many cynics say a club like Norwich will be very attractive to many of them. We want and need our team. It is also clear that people like Croft had made their mind up ages ago to clear off and we need a virtual clear out to get players with guts, confidence and work ethic. For years Norwich have filled their ranks with over paid players who think they are better than they are, many who go on the piss the same day we frequently get beaten. Things will be much better than a lot fear
-
I agree. The management team can only be judged after a season in charge with there own team. Things are difficult enough without moans and groans even before we have kicked a ball in the new season. The best managerial appointments have come from within over the years and at least we have someone who cares and who is a top human being, that must count for a lot.

I will keep mine and put it towards next season ticket regardless of which division we are in, long term support i think

- Is there hope for Pattison?

he will drive the team bus when he gets his licence back! -
Bye bye good players
Yorkshire Canary replied to Tetteys Jig's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Do you honestly expect Marshall, Clingan, Hoolahan etc to stick around when Championship clubs will be in for them sharpish? Some people need to F*cking well wake up and smell the coffee. We are League One, nobody wants to play in league one and all we will field next season is kids and donkeys. Is that clear now?
Can see it now, Croft next, then Hoolahn will be swapped for Lee, which ain''t a fair deal, but the best we''ll get in our predicament, then the worst deal of all, Clingan will leave for under £1m and we''ll have made a real balls up. Watch the club keep Fatty Patty, Cureton and Semmi and see them in the starting line up come august. What a joke!

I do agree to a certain extent. Few of our squad want to play in league 1 but most are crap which is why we were relegated, they thought they were a lot better than they were. I think a lot of good prpfessionals do want to play in league 1 ones that are young in league 1 already or indeed in league 2. There are some gems in the lower leagues, look at Doncaster virtually their whole squad came from below the championship. The trick is spotting and signing them -
Dont expect a Leicester
Yorkshire Canary replied to Bomber's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I do not expect a quick bounce however it would not surprise me if we did, it all depends on how our youngsters settle and which experienced professionals we bring in -
Not a bad goal keeper but nowhere near as good as he has been hyped up to be. When we spend that much signing him i thought it a luxuary. a good shot stopper but often prone to mistakes and does not save penalties very often. It is sad that it looks as though we will have lost money on him but the position we are in now we cannot afford his wages, have a good young lad in the wings and will probably not notice any difference when he has gone. I wonder if the fee we do get will be made available to strengthen the out field squad , it needs to be

Give Rudd the bloody no. 1 jersey
Yorkshire Canary replied to Tetteys Jig's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Well with marshall on his way it would appear that we have little choice anyway. Nothing to lose and to be honest we will only get better if our youngsters have the chance to come through
