Yes i agree, best kept to the lighthearted
-
I know that he has been a flop this season and fallen out with the management but he did not come on and get a medal yesterday, did he get one? I would have thought he was entitled to one if Elliott was, must have made the same appearances and each scored 2 goals
-
Yes i am glad they have gone up they deserve it especially having been so close for a few seasons
-
I thought these were very interesting. He stated that we will have a budget to compete as a topic 6 club which is very encouraging and somewhat of a pleasant surprise. Yesterdays performance was poor in the extreme and i do think we have at least 6 to 8 squad members who will find it very hard in the championship.

Crap home secretary and fell out big time with Brown when he took over. I dont blame him for that but thereafter he became a very bitter man. Looks like he may have to find a proper job now.
-
Ex Doncaster now on Millwalls books. Generally regarded as a league 1 target man who does not score that many. Think he will be offloaded by Millwall and stay at Carlisle. If we sign players like him we are in serious trouble next season

Is there any chance Leeds will choke today?
Yorkshire Canary replied to Jacko's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It is in their hands and they will never have a better chance. I cannot see them failing against a side whohave nothing to play for -
Give him a set of tight shorts and i could see him running on the pitch as our new sponge man !

One more potential signing post......

A fatter version of Cureton imo another yesterdays man -
Somewhat injury prone but always a handful to play against when fit. If a cheap package could be negotiated he would be a very useful squad member
-
Well he comes from Carlisle and i know he still has a house there near the football ground. At 29 he probably sees his long term future in Cumbria and wants his kids to be settled. This does not mean he will stop playing for Norwich in the near future

Paul McVeigh......Staying or going?.
Yorkshire Canary replied to DorsetCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Name in the history books but no future IMO -
I agree. I have seen him a couple of times this season and he is basically poor most of the time as far as defending goes. He is good at free kicks and takes their penalties . He is valuable to carlisle on that basis but would not fit into our club, not good enough for midfield or defence

Brilliant Man and a Norwich Legend. He should never have been put in the Managerial Hotseat, the way it panned out was predictable -
Most Championship clubs will not be spending a great deal in the future, like government spending we will all be cutting back for years to come. This makes the quality of a clubs scouting system invaluable. This used to be an area of strength for us, not just bring through youngplayers which seems to be back on track but spotting the many bargains out there. There are a lot of smaller clubs doing well /surviving in the championship who have picked up some real talent for next to nothing such as scunthorpe with sharpe then hooper, Doncaster with Stock and Blackpool with Adams and before that hoolahan and gorks

Re: Robbie Blake?
Yorkshire Canary replied to Minster Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
He would only be cover if we got him so i do not think it would be worth it as his wages would be quite high. At 34 his next move will probably be his last gone. Excellent over the years though and has netted a few times against us -
Another year for Fraser?
Yorkshire Canary replied to a1canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The advantage of getting promoted weeks before the end of the season is that it gives a head start on contract talks and seeing who is available to bring in as our budget is known -
Spending in the summer...
Yorkshire Canary replied to Delia Out!'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The good thing is that nearly every other team in the championship will be in a simular position. Bunley stand out as an exception. There are bargains out there which is why the likes of Doncaster, Scunthorpe,Barnsley and in particular Blackpool continue to survive at championship level. The secret is spotting the talent before everyone else does then you have to pay for it. look at Brian Stock, Charlie Adams, Bill sharpe and hooper all from the above clubs. I suspect most of the players we bring in will be youngsters or Bosmans and most we will never have heard of, hopefully some will come off -
Adeyemi Signs Until 2012.
Yorkshire Canary replied to Barclay Kid's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Bright future, but it will be a big 2 years for him and he will find it much harder to impose himself on the championship than league 1. Too early to say for me, didnt really impress at all when i saw him. Sounds a bit harsh but really good youngsters seize their chances and look something special eg Cory Smith now and Sutton, Bellamy and eadie in years gone by. -
A player who split opinion. Lacked confidence but fast and on his day capable of being brilliant. Problem was that was only 2 or 3 times out of 10. Stupid lad for moving didnt know when he was well off imo. Moved and failed, blotted his copy book here i susspect and probably league 1 if he wants a move. As a gamble though he has age on his side and if nutured by someone like lambert probably could deliver on a more consistent basis

Looking back over the season

Decisive Leadership when it was needed for the first time in many a year. relegation could have destroyed us over time but instead we are a club moving forward in a very positive way
