1. In Pilkington and Bennett we have two wide players who score regularly aswell. I''d be happy to see Holt or Morrison up top on their own supported by the wide players in a 4-3-3 type formation.
2. Forlan wore #5 during his time with Villarreal. Squad numbers no longer work in the manner they used to, they''re a marketing tool now rather than a position indicator.
3. I''d like to have Lansbury here next season. Good player!
4. I turned 21 in January so looks like i''ve avoided this hassle quite nicely.
5. Russ to get the shirt to start with. Our best player last season, definately deserves a place in the side on the opening day.
6. Not a big fan of this tune. If the club were to change what the lads enter the pitch to i''d personally prefere something like This is War by 30 Seconds to Mars. More up tempo and anthemic.
7. I live on a little estate near the boundry crossing, sounds busy and not the best loaction but it''s a nice quiet little estate, got a nice ground floor flat with a wee garden. Not far too drive into the city and Buses are every 15 mins. Not sure about schools though as i''m 21 and Mrs is 20 and we have no kids.
8. I like Warnock, honest bloke who speaks his mind. I''d have him here if Lambert were to leave.
9. Holt''s the man. I have every faith in his fitness and ability for the coming season.
10. Feel sorry for Woodgate, the blokes a top defender. If fit i''d have prefered to see a partnership of him and Ledley King (again another talent who could have acheived so much more) as England''s central defense pairing. Having said that, far too much of a gamble for a club in our position to take considering his injury problems. Talks of his wages being 20k possibly rising to 40k depending on appearences.
11. Lambert is the most important asset this clubs has, more valuable than any player on our books IMHO. This season will be a learning curve and if we do go back down I won''t be too worried as I have faith he''d get us back up and we''ll then be even stronger financially. I''ll be disgusted with any fan that calls for his head during the course of the season.
12.
"He is proof, if it were ever needed, that ''the next big things'' don''t always make it and are a huge gamble" Or a huge earner for some folk. Wright, whose hype owed much to his agent (Jonathan Barnett), was in good company with others who left poorman road for supposedly huge fees and never really lived up to their promise (hype). Coincidentally the ''boy blunder'' Wickham has the same agent, Jonathan Barnett. Maybe just coincidence - as is the fact that other former binners Dyer, Bramble, Bent who who left for huge fees also shared the same agent, Jonathan Barnett. The latter two also signed for Sunderland. Funny old thing is ''coincidence''.
Harsh to lump Bent in the same category as Dyer, Wright etc. the blokes record over the past few seasons in phenominal.
13. What formation we''ll play will be dependant on who we''re playing. Against the top 6 plus Everton/Villa i''d expect us to play 1 up top. Against the teams around us I beleive we''ll revert to the diamond.
14. Doubt it. Lambert will bring in at least 1 more face. Wouldn''t be suprised to see a couple addtions slightly later in the window too.
15. Agreed, if we''re to sign anyone from Forest i''d rather it be Chambers.
16. There''s no contest, Pilkington is already a better player than Lee Croft will ever be.
17. I''d have liked Sean St.Ledger personally.
18. From my memory the Ipswich side that nearly qualified for the Champions League didn''t have a great deal of established PL players in it & it was only when they started shopping for bigger names that they slipped up.
19. Best player we''ve signed this summer IF he doesn''t let his injury affect him. Definately a player with the ability to play at PL level.
20. Personally I''d like to see ----------------------------Ruddy---------------------------- Russ---------Ward----------------Whitbread--Tierny ----------------Johnson-------------Crofts---------------- Bennett---------------Hoolahan----------Pilkington ----------------------------Holt------------------------------- Morison, Vaughan, De Laet, Barnett, Fox, Surman and a new GK as subs.
21. The only thing that worries me about this move is they''re saying it''s the 2nd most disappointing sale of a player to Marcus Stewart leaving for our cousins down the road....
22. James Vaughan is the thing that would sway him to us IMO. I don''t think Wolves, Stoke etc offer much better wages than we do, having a good friend of his here who''ll help him settle will sway towards a move here.
