  1. I wouldn''t be surprised if we sold him if an offer was made for say, £5M. Earnshaw has no real loyalty to Norwich and deepdown would surely love the move. The Premiership is where he wants to be and will probably be sold in January anyway, form permitting - a la Ashton. If Blackburn offered £6M, I think we should cash-in, though this would leave the obvious problem of who you would replace him with...
  2. There is absolutely no chance of Kenton coming back here. Worthington would never entertain the idea. End of story. Besides, Norwich have got enough lazy players as it is, so we don''t require anymore! Wouldn''t be surprised if he ended up at Portman Road...
  3. What influence will he really have? Ideas are all very well, but the way the board is constructed at NCFC is a closed shop. Its Delia and Wynn Jones'' show - AND NOBODY ELSES.
  4. Mumbys hopeless attitude means we could be flirting with relegation this season. To have this man as Chairman of NCFC is totally depressing. In an odd way even Robert Chase had more of clue than him. Yes folks, he''s that bad! '' A pretty damn good squad...'' ? He must be talking about Chelsea...
  5. Everyone I know who had a season ticket for last season, have renewed them for this season, but they ALL want Worthington to go and are looking forward to a post Worthy world. It would be very interesting to know the percentage of fans who felt the same way when it came to renew theirs, but that is something we''ll never know...
  6. I don''t think it''s so much that people are slagging Leon off, it''s just a lot of people don''t expect him to be around much longer. Shame.
  7. I think there should be a sweepstake on how many games Worthless lasts into the new season. My money''s on six. Any advance on that?
  8. A good friend of mine told me that when they last spoke to Green, around the time when he was ''injured'' in the last few games of the season, that he would, and I quote: '' ...Rather have pins stuck in his eyes, than play for Norwich City again...'' Plus he doesn''t like Worthington either, though I don''t know if this is a personal or professional opinion. Maybe they just don''t get on very well, who knows? Rob has clearly had enough, but I don''t want to hear all this '' what a loyal servant Green has been etc. etc.'' He is not happy and has wanted out for some time. He should be sold at the earliest oppertunity for all concerned - injury or no injury.
  9. Oso - Doncaster has said that the bulk of Rehmans wages were paid by Fulham ( no figures were quoted however ) and represented ''good value for money'' [!!!]. The club apparantely didn''t realise that Shackell would recover as soon as he did, plus Rehmans falling out with Worthy put the end to him playing for us again. Falling out with Worthy - who would of thought it...?!
  10. ''Down Down'' by Status Quo. Until Worthless is removed, that is...
  11. Somehow, I think we may be hearing a lot more of her in the first few weeks of the coming season... As for Wynn-Jones, he''s seems to do what he''s told and say very little. I think Michael has actually been dead for some time - Delia got the taxidermist round after hours for a bit of ''on the side'' work to fill her husband up. Therefore he can be wheeled out at any public event or board meeting without anyone being the wiser. Delia can pre-program him to come out with stock answers, plus never have the embarrassment of being voted against. Welcome to the Stowmarket One. Just incase anyone thought Michael had an independant point of view...
  12. I wonder how much Worthington has to do with Green ''wanting out'' over the last year or so...?
  13. You could well be right wizard. Maybe the board have been thinking over the last weeks and are compromised over the issue. They don''t want to sack Worthy, but are facing up to the likelyhood that he will have to go early next season if things continue the way they have been. My money is on the fact that x amount has been put aside for a new manager if NW doesn''t deliver the goods on what will almost certainly be a modest budget - which I don''t believe he will. Therefore the board will reach a financial settlement with Worthy if he doesn''t resign. It could be very interesting to see who gets first team coach position, as they could well end up being the next manager of NCFC, thus saving a few pounds in the process...
  14. I think it''s inevitable that the Premiership will be reduced to 18 clubs, even with the little support it has in this country. What I think will happen is this: 1. Blatter insists on 18 club Premiership. 2. Premiership says ''no - We''ll do our own thing''. 3. Blatter: ''Ok, you''ll be banned from all Euro competitions'' 4. Premiership: ''18 team league - what a great idea!'' Easy...
  15. Hampshire - O''Neill will walk into the Manchester Utd job when it becomes available - if he wants it. Why on earth do you think he would want to come to a Championship club like Norwich? Talk about punching below your weight!! Yes he could only turn us down, but I wouldn''t insult the man - Why don''t we ask Wenger, Mourinho, Ferguson, Jol et al why we''re at it and make ourselves look even more ridiculous. Why don''t we put a £2M bid in Lampard as well? He can only turn us down... There is ambition and stupidity, and asking a top manager to come here at this time is certainly the latter. How about Newell, Tilson, Parkinson etc? Managers we might just have chance of getting in the forseeable future when Worthington goes...
  16. A statue for Worthington would negate the need for public toilets...
  17. As much as I''d love him to come here, the chances of Martin O''Neill coming back to Carrow Road as manager are none. What next, John Bond?
  18. I know it is standard practise to have three keepers, but I''d have an acadamy goalkeeper promoted as opposed to bringing someone else in. The club could always get a loan keeper in if we had an injury crisis. I know Joe is young, but I think Green was only 19 when he made his debut. Being the Clubs number two would give him extra confidence and responsibility, which is what he needs. The club claim they rate him highly, so why don''t they prove this? Plus it would save the club some cash! Just an idea...
  19. Good news if this is correct. However, the only reason I believe he would sign another two year deal, is that he has been told that Green will be sold at some point, so the position is his as long as he''s good enough. There would be no point of him lurking in the shadows for another two years. Joe Lewis should step up to number two when Green is sold. We don''t need to bring another keeper in. A journeyman keeper is not necessary - but if we do go down that road, can we make sure he hasn''t got a bad back this time?
  20. I think the board are hedging the bets. They are a business remember, so it would be wise to keep a ''bit back'' for a new manager. If Worthy does well ( I don''t believe he will however ) they could then release more funds in January. A compromise perhaps, but a sensible one.
  21. Branston - I spoke to ND a few weeks back, and Cheeky Monkey is basically right on the ''pay-off'' issue. The figure he quoted of £1M is correct, though I assume this would include Livermore. The club are not prepared to pay that sum of money because - and I quote - '' A new management team would be no guarantee of success''. True of course, but this is all rather the thin end of the wedge. If Worthington resigned, then the club would have to pay him nothing, though my money''s on a pay-off pre-christmas if things don''t improve, therefore no new players in the January transfer window...
  22. No. Next season will be worse - no question. Think QPR at home - without the result - happening week after week. The only thing to look forward to is Worthy being paid off, so this fine club can move forward. ND says it''s too expensive to replace him, so expect the same old rubbish next season. It isn''t going to get any better, so we''ll all just have to accept it. Depressing isn''t it?
  23. I don''t think we can either. I think we''ve got another Ashton- type situation on our hands. My money is on Earnie staying until the transfer window in January, unless we are in a strong position in the league - which won''t happen under Worthington, as I fear another re-run of last season is on the cards. I which case Earnie will become restless - Like many others. All this means enjoy Earnie while you can, though I wouldn''t completely rule out him being sold pre-season if the offer was big enough. I told Doncaster recentely that as much as I like Earnie, at this moment in time he is at the wrong club. I still stand by that view.
  24. Get real out there - England would of done exactly the same! Belarus are a small footballing nation, and for them to beat England, even in ''b'' variety, is a major plus for them. They may never get the chance again, so I think this match should be taken in context - friendly or not.
