  1. I must admit I''m surprised that fans are STILL willing to give Worthy a chance, yet deep down knowing nothing much will change. All the players aren''t suddenly going to respect him, Hughes and Robinson will not suddenly turn into Viera and Fabregas and Earnshaw is not going to grow to 6"2!. Something has to change to create change, and nothing has been done by the club - except for a new first team coach, which I believe will be not enough. I like many others, would like to know what is really going on at Carrow Road...
  2. We could play 4-3-3 quite easily, but we would need at least one or even two quality central midfielders, which we haven''t got. Enough has been said on Hughes and Robinson already! I wouldn''t risk this formation as it stands today - even when we went up it was with a half-arsed 4-4-2, as Hucks would get the ball deep, so you couldn''t say it was a genuine 4-3-3. How about 3-5-2 away from home? Walker did this in the early ''90''s? You get humped once or twice, but it does get you more points overall. However, we would need another defender as I don''t think Fleming is good enough for a starting place anymore. Wouldn''t it be nice if we just bought someone?
  3. As things stand at the moment, 14-1 is laughable. There is absolutely no way we will win this league UNLESS we have a new manager and some canny purchases. We are much more likely to get relegated than promoted with the lack of activity at Carrow Road. I think Birmingham will win, but I''m backing Hull for promotion - could be the new Watford.
  4. No tears for me when Green leaves - whatever the fee. He doesn''t want to play for Norwich City anymore, so the quicker he moves on the better. Maybe Wigan will pay over the odds for him? They''re good at that, though Green is only worth £2M in Monopoly money. Unlike 3 years ago...
  5. The local media could help by doing a bit of ''investigative journalism'' on the current state at NCFC, but in my opinion, they haven''t got the guts as they would be too worried about being frozen out by the Carrow Road media machine. Chris Lakey once said via e-mail that there is no pressure from Carrow Road on what to write. Why therefore, is NOBODY from the media being critical thus far? We all want to know the truth, but no-one will even ask.
  6. I would rather the EDP provided probing articles on what is going wrong at Carrow Road ( i.e fans unhappiness, lack of signings, amount of debt etc. ), instead of this non-story about Walcott. Why won''t Archant allow investigative journalism when it comes to NCFC? It has a duty to the public. My guess is that Archant doesn''t want to know, though I''d love to be proved wrong. Maybe a member of the web team can explain why this appears to be the case?
  7. Interesting what Hucks is saying here. It suggests that last season there was no cohesive plan of what style to play, plus it kept being changed throughout the season. Therfore disagreements between Worthless and his coaching staff, with dire consequences on the pitch. What would Worthless do if there were continual disagreements between himself and Hunter this season? Still hold out for the money?
  8. When speaking ND a while back, he said that Worthington would "walk into any Championship club if he became available because of his proven track record [!!!]". I couldn''t believe my ears when he said this, which if true, shows what [blind] faith the board have in this man. But as no club has come in for him, It shows that i''m much closer to being right than Doncaster is...
  9. The blame should largely lay with Worthington. It would appear that when we got promoted, many of the team were with him, making it a happy team and this was for all to see - with a little help from Darren Huckerby, of course. I suggest that much of the reason for our lacklustre performances over the last year or so is that there is a much higher proportion of players that don''t want to him to remain manager, which leads to apathy. That has been evident in some players'' performances last season. The club have made clear that Worthington has not lost the dressing room, but if my sources are correct, only another 2 or 3 senior players are needed to tip the balance. In my opinion, this alone makes Worthington''s position untenable. Interesting times ahead!!!
  10. City fans are some of the best around, but we shouldn''t be taken for granted, which is happening at present. It''s commendable to hear views for a united front, but I can''t quite see this happening. If we have a couple of bad results at the start of the season, then it will be back to square one. There is an air of inevitability about this. It reminds me of when Geoff Boycott was playing for England in Australia - he was asked what he was going to do tomorrow. He replied: '' I''m going to get up, go out to bat and were going to lose.''
  11. Sorry Mook, but I don''t agree. You are more optimisitic than me!!! We have a average side with a very poor manager. The club cannot afford to keep Worthington, despite ND stating the opposite. I agree a change in manager would not guarantee success, but we would have A chance, when we currentely have NO chance. A new manager would at least get more respect than Worthless does. From Robert Green to Paul McVeigh, many of the players just don''t rate him, which I''m afraid is the underlining problem. Worthington has to go for the sake of the future of NCFC. Period.
  12. Sorry Mook, but I''m with Alex on this. I couldn''t of put it any better myself. Are you Doncaster in disguise, by any chance? He said almost exactly the same things to me a while back as you have posted. Except for seeing the back of him, of course!
  13. I cannot understand this ''give Worthy 10 games'' mantra that various people having been saying since last season. Why 10 games? He should of gone at Xmas 2004, but no, some fans STILL want to give him another chance. Why?
  14. Nothing - that''s what''s going on! It appears that Worthington can''t attract anyone to come here. I suggest in footballing circles, the professional players know this isn''t the place to come right now.
  15. Well said Jas. I just wish the majority felt this way instead of many that feel Delia is some sort of God that we should be indebted to.
  16. All very well, but will Worthy actually play him? I doubt it, because he hasn''t got the confidence to play people like Spillane and would rather play established players such as hoofer Hughes. But if he has to, it will probably be at right-back... ...So if I were Spillane, I''d be looking for an out too.
  17. I lost all respect for Delia after her '' let''s be having you'' rant. She came across as being an angry, frustrated woman who was having a go at NORWICH fans. It caused embarrassment across the land. This was a disgraceful act from someone who should of known better, even after too much wine. Why some fans still give her the time of day after that, I do not know. She was being offensive to supporters that evening and showed her true colours. She has a controlling vote with her ''husband'', which is undemocratic and just plain wrong. Her constant support of Worthington makes Norwich City the laughing stock of the Football League. I have been saying for ages that Delia and Wynn-Jones should sell their shares, so they own no more than 49% of the club. It should not have been allowed that one ''couple'' can have a controlling share. What they say goes, whether we like it or not. In my opinion, Delia''s only interested in self-publicity. Don''t things really stink at Carrow Road right now?
  18. We should remember that local television news in this area ( i.e BBC, Anglia ) always leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to quality reporting. They constantly toe the line, and are too afraid to upset anyone if the truth dictates as such. You can tell Kevin Piper wants to tell us a story, but he''s not allowed to - Max Bygraves anyone?
  19. Whenever we actually buy a player, yes that''s right folks- BUY a player, Norwich always state that the player was from ''the top of the A list'' regardless. I wonder what list Hughes was on...?
  20. I thought JJ did quite well, when he was played in his actual position. Obviously Worthy doesn''t rate him as he had some talent, which isn''t looked on favourably these days.
  21. Sounds like Drury''s already making excuses for a bad start to the season before it''s even started!!! It is not the fans fault that last season was a shambles. This does not breed confidence in what I believe will be the worst season for some time at Carrow Road.
  22. Not a chance. Unless the centre of midfield is redressed we are going nowhere and hoofball will remain prevalent. Two centre midfielders are required because Hughes is utterly hopeless and Safri will probably play only half the games due to injury, religion and general boredom.
  23. Hughes has brought the criticism on him largely by himself. If was playing well, the fans wouldn''t be on his case. How many good games did he play last season? Exactly. Gary Holt was no master craftsman, but for £100K he gave his all and had many good games in a Norwich shirt. Hughes cost £500K, and on much higher wages, has done nothing of note and personifies Worthy''s ''Hard-Work, No skill'' ethic. Dean Coney anyone?
  24. Maybe Green can compensate Norwich by giving some of his wages back due to his poor, want-away season... :)
