Aviva to end main sponsorship deal
Bury Yellow replied to NCFC198's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Steady on Howson. Thats a bit over the top (of the heads) for some contributors on this board. If I had any control of Aviva''s promotional spend and seen some idiotic, thick comments regarding the company, I would have pulled the plug long ago. Hopefully there will be a local mobile phone company banging on the door of the CEO wanting to be our new sponsor -
Norwich City Painting

Mine arrived this morning too. Marvellous piece of work. Don''t take this the wrong way David but your work will hang in the downstairs loo. I have a few binners who always need to use it having plastered them with fluids!!! -
Chris Goreham Todays Press Conference
Bury Yellow replied to Move Klose's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Canary Legend - You criticise McNally and say its time for him to go. McNally can only spend the money the owners allow him to spend. Of course you could always campaign to get Doomcaster back -
Must say I agree Mrs M He wouldn''t be my first choice and yet I think he fits Sir Alex''s demands in many ways. He''s a strong lad and a good character. Leeds supporters had great respect for him and he was a captain under difficult circumstances. It was unfortunate that he arrived at Fulham, a club which was to have a season in turmoil.

Agree 100 per cent Lapps. Thats twice Ive agreed with you in the last year :-)

Thought you would be pleased Lapps. Not so me for what its worth. He should either have been a junior coaching job or not at all. This non job is embarrassing frankly and is obviously a Delia deal

Neil Adams "Loans manager"?!?....WTF
Bury Yellow replied to GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I wonder who pushed this through? Totally unbelievable. We have a brilliant CEO and Chairman and they have to announce something like this. What a joke!! I guess there will be few who will think this is a marvellous thing. They will be on this thread pretty soon -
Average Championship striker who can score a beautiful goal to persuade people he is more. Average pace, average touch, average work rate, scores the odd screamer. Sell, sell, sell. Even I don''t think you mean that. Below average comment Boring Boring Boring

I think Kingston Yellow might be correct re this Football Board. It''s almost ''progress by committee'' It never works and is doomed to failure I fear. A genuine question - can anyone tell me exactly what Ricky Martin does and what qualifications and c.v.backs this up? Surely it''s not simply ''he''s Norwich through and through''

An Open Letter to David McNally
Bury Yellow replied to row's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
While your at it row have you written to the Chinese leadership? India leadership? Russia and all the other non believers? Na! Thought not -
Funnily enough Nutty I thought the more influence David Williams had the more we became a team of Ray Wilkins and the rest was history. Wasn''t David Williams last job a driving instructor? Perhaps there''s hope for Hughton yet! I must say though David Williams was a mighty cultured player. That Arsenal away game was a great shock to us Bury chaps as we travelled down we were all convinced we were doomed. Time has not changed us - 20 seconds left in the play off final and we were still up tight desperately pleading with the ref to blow his whistle ….. and we have the vid to prove it !!

Yep I too like it. For those who don''t, just reserve a bit of judgement and see what its like when watching a Prem game. As for the shirt sponsors they have every right to have a strong input into logo placement.

Thoughts with Albert Bennett
Bury Yellow replied to nutty nigel's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Back in the days (no - not ''those were the days'''') I saw Albert Bennett play for Bury Town and he was still wearing his lucky white boots then. Decent player even in the twilight of his career. -
Ellis206 wrote What can he offer the club? Isn''t this the guy who won the youth team cup against a very much fancied Chelsea side who probably cost more than our first team at the time. Stupid comment and I really hope he comes back to the club, breathes Norwich City You old mate might think its a stupid comment but I get fizzed off with this ''he''s Norwich through and through'' My opinion is he should try elsewhere to re build his career. My opinion also is he should never been offered to job in the first place. Go figure that ellis and stay in the Championship

Jerome and his future (+possible others)
Bury Yellow replied to TheTetteyRole's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It took me sometime to realise his ''cool dude'' body language hides a real leader on the pitch. He deserves his opportunity in the Prem again with a manager who knows!!! -
Agreed C.D Frankly what can he offer the club? I don''t blame him for taking the job that Delia and MWJ were desperate for him to have but if he has any aspirations to go back into coaching it must be with a club elsewhere.

Singing "On The Ball City"
Bury Yellow replied to Platonic's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The fact is ''On the ball city'' cannot compete with other chants sung properly or otherwise. I have to own up that I do not like the song but think about other clubs like West Ham''s ''Bubbles'' now that is never sung in tune. The pre match so called entertainment stuff at Wembley was just too bad. Some geezer getting the boro fans going first and then Adrian Forbes turns five minutes later for us. The speaker system was distorted and the fans around us had no idea what Forbes was saying. The boro fans sung what was a basic easy chant. Why Forbes chose ''Cheer up George Burley'' as our ''song'' was frankly pathetic. He could have encouraged, say, the Yarmy chant To give a simple example, if we played before a game the Proclaimers ''500 miles'' there would be no problem. If boro fans were confronted with singing otbc they would have the same problem as we do. Finally, we occasionally have people contribute to this board with a general criticism of our supporters. The fact is we are no different to any other supporters of their teams. Oh actually we are. Loyalty with support home and away. Platonic, of course you are entitled to your point of view and it was well put but I''m still getting over what was the most fantastic experience with fellow supporters in my 60 plus years of supporting my club. I thought we were a credit to our club and the noise factor was impressive from all the various broadcasts. Get the pre match ''set'' sorted at The Carra with decent stuff to get the crowd going plus do something about the PA system and we will be fine. -
my wembley video, have a butchers!
Bury Yellow replied to schmidtee's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Thanks for the info re ''Time'' Hans Zimmer is a talent but didn''t realise that was a piece by him. Cannot help re WOTB as I''m not a member either and sadly I''m the original technophobe !! -
my wembley video, have a butchers!
Bury Yellow replied to schmidtee's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
As Norfolk Mustard says it was a magic day with emotions that were totally unexpected. Seeing some of our group in tears, including me, will live on forever. A good vid schmidtee which I viewed after WOTB gave it good reviews a while ago. I may show my ignorance but what is the main music played? It was ideal for the vid including another legendary Goreham commentary! -
