  1. Why does Captain Kirk have Mr Spock''s face? And yes, we were on last today. We always are.
  2. His role is to absorb all the flak from the fans and announce any bit of bad news. A bit like when Farnsworth tells Hermes to fire people
  3. How do people on here view Yeovil, Crewe, Stockport and Cambridge United? That''s exactly how other fans view us. Nice, friendly clubs that you can''t actually say anything bad about but never think of them in any terms of footballing awe or respect.
  4. "First OJ, now EJ i hearDelia is gonna get the members in the board room, have a whip round and dish out a BJ before the window closes" That''s probably the funniest thing I''ve ever read on this board. I doff my cap sir
  5. How many players HAVE we actually signed over £1m? Polston, Roberts, Ashton, Earnie, Marshall maybe. My memory is not what it once was. How many players have we sold for over £1m? Bellamy, Eadie, Francis, Ashton, McKenzie (just), Earnie, Greeno. The clubs policy has always been, and will always be, to buy mediocre players for a few 100k, realise they''re crap after a season or two and then cancel their contracts and leave them free to join a League Two side before they slip into non-league obscurity (Jarret, Hughes, Robinson, Anselin, Dalglish, Mulryne, Easton, Rivers, Emblem, McGovern, Neilsen, Abbey etc). As had been said many times before, Huckerby''s £750k just scraped through from the Diss guy, Ashton''s £3.5m was funded in part by supporter shares and even Robinson''s £50k was a loan from Delia.
  6. ''Twas indeed! And thinking about it (no Wiki I promise) it was Everton in our promotion season
  7. I thought it was West Ham? Who was our first ever designated squad number 4?
  8. But Dion also put Andy Hughes and Peter Thorne in his all time XVI in Four Four Two
  9. I think Barnsley could have a really good season, not pushing for champions or anything but a good season. I''ve been very impressed with their signings so far
  10. Yeah I thought exactly the same too but glad I didn''t post it first! It really is such a shame I think that we''re genuinely not known for anything else apart from one of our directors.
  11. Aren''t we still waiting for the imminent signing of Gow still? He''s had his medical and it''ll be any week soon...
  12. I completely agree. I also laughed at the massive ''Delia Out'' banner just after saying you wanted to change the subject. Laughing with you Jas...
  13. My genuine main surprise this morning is just how certain, and now angry, everyone was of receiving all this money for millions and millions of transfers so we could be top of the league and romp our way to the Premiership. How long have people been following the club? This is Norwich City! When I first heard the rumours of a takeover and a £20m kitty, my inital reaction was a shrug and a ''meh'' (to put it into online parlance). Maybe I''m a natural pessimist but at least it proves the old adage correct about pessimists never being disappointed
  14. I thought that was going to be a Lonely Hearts entry then. Shame
  15. For £1.3m, I''m glad if we do miss out. Ridiculous fee for an average Championship (though technically League One) striker; though if Lafferty is worth £3.5m then I suppose Patterson is worth £1.3m. And Kevin Phillips is worth £12m
  16. Start away, finish away, Boxing Day away. I think that''s disgusting
  17. Here''s a good game to play: Name as many players as you can who Worthington signed post-relegation who were actually any good. I''ll even let you include loans! I can think of one; he was Welsh and wasn''t Carl Robinson. The Nigerian and the Happy Clapper don''t make the grade as far as I''m concerned.
  18. I agree with the last part. I''m certainly no fan of Alan Brazil but how on earth did footage of him being breathalysed in a police cell end up, quite legally, on a Norwich City forum? Is this going to be the new Big Brother?
  19. One of my biggest regrets is being slightly too young and not interested enough in football to remember our golden period so I can''t really comment. It does pain me however because all that was achieved will almost certainly never happen again in my lifetime. Because of a lack of Chase? No, because of Sky money, foreign investment, inflated player''s wages (when a club can be in the Premiership for years then be down in the Championship for a year and nearly go bust), increased agent involvement and the big time Charlie attitudes of teenage millionaires. A lot has changed since Chase went.
  20. Monday: Roeder - I''m proud of every single one of the boys, they couldn''t have given me any more and were just unlucky. Oh except Cureton who''s complete rubbish and should have notched at least a hat-trick Tuesday: Doncaster - Hucks to be offered a new contract and there will be a massive budget for Glenn over the summer! Wednesday: Faceless Drone - Don''t forget to renew your season tickets Thursday: Huckerby - My pain on being told I''m going to be released at the end of the season Friday: Doherty - Come on! We need to (at the time of writing, Doherty has not yet dipped in to ''Gary Doherty''s Big Tombola of Useful Cliches''. We''re hoping he''ll pull a good ''un) Saturday: Faceless Drone - Remember today is all about Dion. Think fun! fun! fun! Don''t look at today''s other scores or the table, just concentrate on the big man. He may even be made captain if he''s not sat on the bench. When you''re at your most fun and nostalgic, don''t forget to renew your season ticket!
