My guess is AN had a clause about this season in his contract saying if promotion not achieved he would receive limited money on sacking. By what he said today Board realised he didnt get that meant your leaving and probably think can preempt now without much compensation.

The trouble for me now is every time he opens his mouth I just want to shout at him! Most fans I spoke to last year said we needed to clear out the dead wood but not Mr Neil oh no! Now he says HE should do that job having COMPLETELY failed to keep us up in Premier League and to at least give us a chance of going straight back up this year! Are the Board really nuts enough to place him in charge of a clear out. An example of how poor he is comes with Canos who is at Brentford playing brilliantly. I honestly believe this clown has ruined what good players we have not improved them. Alex has lost an essential skill, confidence which he had in abundance when he arrived. Games like Newcastle have shattered that . And at Bristol knowing a win was our last hope of the play offs instead put on a defender to try and save his neck! Delia must know he has lost the fans as well the players. And on another subject why cut the price of the home Villa match why not instead say thanks to those away fans who have had so liitle to cheer this year. Oh forgot that may cost us some real money!

Most fans do not care what goes on all week with the players etc all week , it is the ninety mins week in week out that matter. The players clearly lack confidence which shows so clearly away from home , they in my opinion are also not fit as noted by Gary Johnson himself . Thank you for posting the reply, no real surprises however note that it was termed " I cannot" rather than the club will not which in my opinion how it should be phrased. Pedantic I know but sums up the club at the moment, going through the motions ie there will be eleven bodies on the pitch at kick off whether they give a fig or not is another story! I would say having been at Burton and Rotherham would like refund too!,

Any other club with the investment AN has had over last two years and yes he would be gone. But unfortunately Delia et al have stated we are stuck with him long term , equivalent of telling Russell Martin he can be captain and center back forever, oh no forgot he still is wouldnt know it during the game. So we can only hope Bristol do a Sheffield and even Delia will have to see what the vast majority of fans know AN couldnt even manage the youth team!

AN just gets worse, fans have been going on about how we need to refresh the squad since Wembley certainly after failing to stay in the Prem. Hindsight no common sense which AN seems to lack completely.

Anyone who thinks we can still get promotion must be on medication some of which I would like There are three reasons we will not finish in top six 1. We have a manager who is a complete clown blames everybody bar himself for the mess the club are now in, hence the CJ comment AN hands are tied! 2. We now have a majority of players who also know our manager is a clown, who is way out of his depth, back at Hamilton might be doing OK still. 3. We have a Board who now feel it would be unwise to sack him and have said so publically and havent the guts to now say they got it wrong. Football is a funny game but to turn it around now would take a miracle on a par with Leicester winning the title. There is so much wrong at the club think it will take many years in the wilderness to sort it out, needs a complete culture shi.

Some fans view is that both Martin and Bassong have been treated far more favourably by AN than Klose and Bennett. Recently I have to say Klose looks like he has given up , but I suspect thats because he sees so much deadwood around him given preferential treatment. An example was this transfer window where rather than get in another central defender we waste 7m on a player who is being outperformed by both the Murphy lads. We all know AN has his favourites who play as long as they are fit, I suspect that breeds resentment in the team and the barely disguised anger from CJ in his interview.

Canary, The point I agree with is Russell Martin isnt the only underperforming player but he is the CAPTAIN. I watched at Burton as Klose made an almighty mess and let the first goal in. What did our dear captain do, stare at his feet and then walk back to starting position. Ruddy was shouting at Klose nothing from Martin. I remember after he arrived Klose was one of the few players talking to others he has now clearly given up, his whole body language shows it. I like you knew our priority after Wembley was defence , however AN only seems interested in midfielders! The real disgrace is AN is still here, any club with ambition would have sacked him long ago.

Can we stop blaming individual players and realise there is only one real idiot at this club and that is the manager who should have gone long ago. I went to both Rothrham and Burton and apart from the sending off the pattern was exactly the same. We have a lazy lazy arrogant team full of players who somehow believe they are better than the opposition so dont need to do the ugly side of the game, rather like England. The back four especially the center backs are so static during the game it is like they are asleep, and for that I will round on our darling captain Russell Martin. He can talk the talk but when he is on the pitch well I never saw him sort anything out. His reaction after the Klose incident was apalling just started wandering back to kick off. At least Ruddy had a go showed he cares! Josh Murphy came on and showed in ten minutes how to take Burtons defence apart. I honestly from the start of the season do not think this team are at the right fitness levels hence look so sluggish on pitch and pick up so many injuries. As someone pointed out we are now in same situation as Arsenal in that we have a manager who is "OK" if you just want Champs football, hasnt a clue how to build from the back ie getting rid of Martin Bassong Turner Whitts and bringing in decent young backs. Which is why having watched the pathetic performance at Burton I for one would happily see Ipswich thrash us if it meant AN leaves, trouble is think he is now teflon coated! Compare that to our rivals like Villa etc .
