  1. I have a Wednesday fan as a friend who has seen them numerous times this season, he is delighted that he has now been released - Enough said! I don''t like the thought of buying a relegated defender either!(see Leicester city)
  2. Hi Gazza I too was in Tombland you weren''t by any chance "the fat bloke up a tree!!" were you? WHAT A NIGHT!
  3. For Me we must replace Crichton I''ve no suggettions here as who ever comes here will play second fiddle. (maybe Ian Walker!) At the back Matt Dawson of Forest In the middle Etuhi of preston and Reid of Forest And up front Dean Ashdon Crewe. I know these are all 1st div but that makes them affordable and we will be able to keep within our wage structure.
  4. I am sorry to start a new thread on this subject but I do have a slightly different tilt on the farewell. We all acknowledge what a fantastic ambassador and servant the Legend has been to the club. What I would like to suggest is a seperate page set up for the fans to say thier farewells, recall their memories and offer thier good wishes to the big man. This should be seperate to the message board and can then be given to Iwan when he leaves the club. Any seconder for this proposal?
  5. Peter and Duke seem to have the same problem anybody else finding that the kits shrink!!! May be you should try a different washing powder!
  6. As a lot of people don''t take thier seats until just before the kick off I say keep the prematch entertainment (I enjoy watching the different warm ups of different teams) and the goal celebration is okay (its original as far as I know?) but "please please please" stop the pantomine before the game when somebody starts off the "on the ball city" its worse that the old Star Wars introduction. and the barclay now sing a different version to the River end so it never stays in sync. The fans can start these songs on their own.
  7. I have just turned on the telly to hear that Gary Holt was stretcher off during the Denmark game. Was anybody watching on sky and can give us any information?
  8. This should have been a great week for any fan and in a way it still is but...... I was all ready to go to "Mecca " for the reserve game on Wednesday when I was called away to Old Trafford Yep MUFC for a sales conference. You''ll not be surprised to know that the coverage up in the north west well there wasn''t any. Rang home on Thursday to find that the home town was absolutely buzzin..! All was not lost I was one of the lucky few with Tickets for Watford. Got home Friday night went to bed all excited....(sorry to much information) looking forward to the game/Party at the Vicarage. At 1.30am I am woken up by the sound of my son being ill. This continued through the night and in to the 8.00am deadline for a decision to be made. I had to go down to "Mecca" and return my tickets. I am now sitting listening to Roy and Neil on the radio.wow what a disappointment today''s turned into. I hope a true fan got hold of my tickets at face value, I refuse to take advantage of my fellow supporters by inflating the price. Sorry I didn''t have time to publish them on this web site.
  9. Hi Mouse, I was also there today and was very interested in the training. The moral inthe camp looks to be superb ( if it isn''t now it never will be) . The one thing that stood out to me was the respect hat the lads have for Greeno I honestly believe that they wouldn''t swop him for anybody. The training methods were a little baffling the game where they were running between two circles and throwing balls to each other I couldn''t work out at all. The attitude of the players towards the young fans was excellent and it is a pleasure to see. If you have never been and watched the team train I would strongly recommend it.
  10. Numerous people have been after a song to show our appriciation to Capt''n Adam. How''s this one You are my Dury my Adam Dury You make me happy when skys are grey You''ll never know just how much we love you Please don''t take my Dury away This is sung to the tune of You are my sunshine. It''s not particularly original but it fits.
  11. Okay whilst we are eating Humble pie he''s mine. I have always rated Svensson in fact I always thought that "Svennies from Heaven" Me well I thought that we shouldn''t buy Huckerby (well not at any cost) I will also admit that this man has been the difference between our success of this year and the disappointment of last year. By the way did anybody hear the accolade that Henry''s goal got against liverpool? Huckerby''s was every bit as good- let''s see which get the most replay!! off to Watford to secure promotion?
  12. I''m on the Fleming band wagon - these people who say we wouldn''t be where we are without Huckerby well remember Palace at home for the first 25 mins D.H didn''t touch the ball mean while Flem was keeping Freedman and co under control. Then we have the christmas period when we won three games without DH oh and the first few games of the season no DH. Forget Darren this year it''s 1 Craig Fleming (What would we do without him) 2 Gary Holt (Has turned games with his unselfish work and endless covering) 3 Robert Green ( How many Important saves has this guy made this Year?)
  13. A lot of people who have supported our team over many years, for what ever reason have been unable to attend Home games this year due to our reduced capacity. This means that these people can only see our team on their travels. These people pay the same price for tickets as anybody else and the club clearly stated that tickets would be sold on a first come first served basis. I would feel gutted if I had been to every game (or the vast majority) and was unable to go to Watford. I was out all Saturday morning due to Junior football commitments. On my return - between getting ready for the Stoke game - I phoned the ticket office to be told that over 100 people were on the lines and so rang back 1/2 hour later I got through and obtained my tickets. It was open for everybody! If you are going please don''t gloat - but equally if you were unable to get a ticket "you" had your chance but didn''t take it so don''t start having a go at others. We all support the same team let''s be greatful there''s so many of us.
  14. I spoke to someone who saw Craig Bellamy on the A1 heading South - may be the partnership is to be rekindled DREAM ON
  15. Oh heck, a team pushing for promotion and we have just lost our star striker. Mr Mediator have we got a loan deal in place? Good luck with the Move gazza
  16. I feel that the positive speech plus the attacking formation played against stoke has proved to many that Nigel and his team have decided that attack is the best form of defence. If we approach all our remaining games like that I would suggest that we will win the majority of them. Rather than trying not to lose games lets give it a real go and let the others worry about us rather than the nervy post we have been having. Well done to everybody involved we are on our way !!
  17. Isn''t it great when you know the Sven reads the pink''un webb site.!!!!!!
  18. I sit in the Riverend and there are one or two of us trying to get a few songs going. Yesterday I noticed that others were joining in the clapping bits but I don''t things they know the words!!!! ( That includes "come on you Yellows"!!) If anybody sits near me they will know because of the two Ronnies who are always asking the ref to book Huckerby for diving if he goes down and no free kick is given and generally winge at the Ref all the way through the game (W@**ers) - no ther are not Crisp manufacturers. This makes getting songs going a little difficult.
  19. DD I agree with you wholeheartedly (except the bit about the Eurovision Song Contest) I am one of Greeno''s greatest admirers. I was lucky enough to see a young Peter Shilton when he was coming through the ranks at Leicester and believe me Greeno is every bit as good as Shilts and look at his record! A word of caution needs to be added As Robert said yesterday there is a big step up from the 1st Div to the Prem and another large one from the Prem to International level. I will make a prediction here and now it''s to early for Robert in 2004 but he will be Englands Number 1 for the world Cup in 2006 (providing we qualify). One down side :- by 2006 I wouldn''t put to much money on him being named as Norwich and Englands Number 1 ( even if we are "still" in the Premiership)
  20. Before knocking Matt Consider this, Svensson has scored twice this season, these goals have meant an extra Four points! The work rate in defending from the front puts both Huckerby and Roberts to shame. We need somebody to hastle the oppositions defence where they are afraid to make mistakes. I agree that the man needs to get stronger in holding up the ball but try and notice what he does off the ball not just what happens when he''s on it. If you ask the other players I bet there''d rather have him on their side than playing against him. Oh and by the way the four points well just look at the table if he hadn''t scored them and then imagine the nerves then!
  21. If the title of this thread is true, can I make a suggestion; We welcome back Daryll Russell and Adie Akinbyai .This will then not put their backs up and make them even more determined to put one over us. If you think this thread is rubbish..... Remember the stick that Armstrong got for Bradford!!!!!!!!
  22. Let''s change to a red Kit when we play at home then fall over in the box. It works for Man Utd'' Liverpool and Arsenal. And if we sign Counago!!!!!!!!
  23. Hi Peter, You do as you please as far as I''m concerned if you are prepared to run it. One suggestion for next season, You can only score points if you predict the outcome of the game Ie if you predict Mulryne to score in a 1-2 defeat and Mulryne scores but in a 1-0 win you get no points. What do you think? Then you get 2 points for the correct outcome and 5 for the correct score. Just an Idea.
  24. I expect this is not going to be received to well but here goes...... For then next few games let''s revert to our successful formation that worked so well over the crucial Christmas period. I wasn''t at Palace on Saturday but have seen all the games at home plus a few away this season. I have been reading the comments about our strike force and it''s current form. so let''s try Svennsson and MacKenzie up front and put Huckerby on the bench. Leon works a lot closer to the front man than Darren. He is also a natural left footer which will add balance to our forward line. Huckerby has been singled out for special attention by a couple of sides recently and seems to struggle. Can you imagine the excitment if Hucerby came on and the lift he would give the team if things needed to change (remember Mr. Nielson). I would also like to see Jarvis given a little longer to influence games if he is coming on. My main message is let''s not panic. we are Top on merit and players don''t become poor players overnight. If you are feeling nervous I suggest that you look at the teams below us and put yourself in their fans shoes - Would you swap places?
  25. DD the reason I started another post was that the title of the original was negative towards Worthy as my post states I share his views so started a suppotive post. Apologises if I have caused difficulties it wasn''t intended.
