I’ve seen some serious hoofball over the years. Wimbledon, Pullis , Cambridge United under John Beck . We have a very long way to go before this becomes proper hoofball. We didn’t kick the ball into channels . We didn’t drop looking for restarts. We just passed the ball forward quicker which at times were longer passes. We didn’t by pass the midfield - MOTD featured the ball going through Gilmour . Anyone moaning about hoofball should have a look on YouTube . There is plenty on there .

Well… usually a point a game keeps you up - so 38 points . Last 6 games we have 8 points. From now on we need 1.15 pts per game. When you put it like that , sounds easy doesn’t it….. 😬

I’m sure those of us that have been going for years have seen loads of games where we were outplayed in the first half . Most Liverpool games with Suarez spring to mind . We weren’t that bad . The main issue was Soton making the pitch big . Rashica didn’t get across and Soton overloaded their left side . Smith tried dropping Cantwell in from his 10 position and pushing Rashica wider but it didn’t work. Second half Sargent filled the gap - and we pressed higher . Rashica changed sides. Ball moved forward much quicker - Far less possession based.

Whatever . I’m losing the will to live now . We won for fûck sake .

Where were you sitting ? From behind the goal in the Barclay he made at least two goal bound blocks.

AO is going to be great , no question. Just saying that in the first half I haven’t seen so many blocks from our centre backs for ages .

Well if no one else is going to start a thread for these guys , I will. How many blocks did these guys get in , in the first half ? Gibson in particular was immense . Kept us in it . And Hanley got the winner . Outstanding performances .
