  1. Unpopular opinion but I thought Gibson deserved a mention
  2. Sara is so awful, other clubs should pay us to keep him.
  3. Go Johnny go go go JOHNNY ROWE. Flying with the City flow Go Johnny that's some goal Tear them a new hole (From Back to the Future film, when McFly plays "Johnny be good" in the ball prom)
  4. It was his mess to begin with. Maybe this season will (depending on where we finish) allow him a measure of goodwill on his exit from NCFC. If that ego is parked out of the way, that is.
  5. Maybe he can do a Milot and get a move to Turkey? Edit: looks like it's Saudi FC then, my bad...
  6. I refuse to believe that until I see it live. If that exists, both clubs should sue this abomination.
  7. Only explanation I find plausible is that there are not many quality DCMs about from the top5 leagues. Also many teams - including us - think that a DCM is the be-all and end-all of defensive solidity. Supply/demand dictates a large portion of transfer fees, but performance has got to be a key one, and Caicedo performed better than Rice (for example), who I thought is Β£50m overpriced..
  8. As long as the defence is solid, the amount of goals scored does not matter as much. It's more important that the goal threat comes from more players. One striker of the same caliber as Josh, that can play on the wing as well as get opposition defenders backpedalling, would be ok.
  9. No stress, no seeds, no stems, no sticks 😎
  10. The market is really inflated in the UK but I counter this with a few questions.. what club has done the best use of transfer fees from player's sales? Remember Leicester, selling Kante, Drinkwater (!!!), Maguire (the one who really messed up market valuations), Mahrez, Schmeichel? All got a high fee as PL title winners. What did the Foxes do with that? Chelsea is a greedy club and has been so for almost 20 years, so they deserve to be ripped a new one.. but (yes I know they don't need to), how does Brighton justify such price? Enzo Fernandez is a WC winner. What did Caicedo win?
  11. Since I don't live in Naritch anymore, and it's very hard to even get radio Norfolk in East Northamptonshire, I need a way to watch/follow games πŸ˜… any tips appreciated.
  12. Can you watch City games with a Firestick?
  13. "it’s about a person, who in the eyes of the law is innocent, being able to resume a career as anyone else would and should have the right to do" Here IMO is the crux of the issue - 2 issues being conflated into one. As an employee I don't need to actively the break any law to lose my job. It would be sufficient for my employer that they deem that I either am not productive enough, or I don't represent the company / display its values *whichever they may be..* well enough - this last part goes beyond active duty, and merges into what I am seen / perceived to do in the eyes of others, to an extent, in my private life. By association, my employer's image to wider society is affected by my actions.
  14. Football fans are (mostly a positive) part of society, yes? They are not only football fans, they are citizens, taxpayers, who with their choices and votes shape society, right? You - and everyone around you who abides by laws and common sense - ARE in a small but meaningful part a moral arbiter of the society you're invested in. Where do you think "moral arbitration" comes from, some entity behind the clouds in the sky? Or from the political class? Whatever your morals may be (as long as they are within the law, and not preaching abuse/hatred) if you think they don't matter because you are a football fan... how reductive a view you do have of yourself.
  15. One that came to public attention recently is the case of Andrew Malkinson. What he has been through - after DNA evidence came to light - is disgusting. But unlike Greenwood, Malkinson does not have football skills or money behind him, so not only he gets to rot for a sizeable span of his life for something he didn't do, he is liable to pay for time spent in HMP. Everything about this feels wrong. Now, I don't know the ins and outs of every case, or technical, legalese, lawyer jargon. Haven't been to Uni or Law school. All I have as a common peasant is my gut instinct and moral compass, forged by family events that I will never discuss with strangers on the net. And my gut instinct tells me - after hearing a certain voice clip of MG - he may not have broken any laws over this, but he has crossed a line.
  16. IMO there are currently serious problems with laws and the UK justice system, especially in cases of alleged abuse/rape. I believe this to be the case for both accusers and defendants. One of the things on which current Govt has much to answer for. Laws aside, about this MG, I'd sooner sign someone who has allegedly done drugs, or harmful actions only towards themselves.. letting in anyone who would bring the club into this kind of disrepute would not be good for a "family friendly" NCFC. Precedent followed by pitchforks.
  17. This happens at other clubs too, even bigger ones. Think Liverpool after winning the CL and the PL. There is a degree of "burnout" after a very intense season/s for the players that leave, and squads that aren't judiciously refreshed will regress. As a football fan, I like the team building phase more than the team achieving its peak. The unpredictability and the surprise of seeing new players (or older ones in different roles) come to the fore and showing what they are about is addictive. Max Aarons was then every bit as fearlessly glorious as Pukki or Emi. 2018-19 for me is best summed up in Chris Goreham's voice... "VranCIIIIIIIIIIIC !!!"
  18. Isn't this a "conflict of interest" regarding a sporting director soon to go to Leeds?
  19. Max is good, but his development stalled as the team around him crashed. He should have left when City got relegated the 1st time. Also he had no real challenger for his position.. As bad as he may now seem in comparison to Stacey (who I never really took notice of before joining us), Aarons has been one of the most consistent players for us over his time... Sometimes a change is as good as a rest, if he's overrated, then Norwich has been truly dogsh!t the last 3 years. Aarons for Scapegoat
