  1. Norwich are a thing of beauty going forward but defensively they scare the wits out of me.
  2. Some shocking defending 1st half. I hope McClean is OK but having Tettey on gives us a chance to see us play with a proper DM against a side of lower PL standard. I hope to see us tighter.
  3. But our boys have been on the p!ss all week. Pukki up down Prince of Wales Road.
  4. The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now. The current management are slowly removing the small-mindset which has hampered for so long. Use this promotion to grow the stadium or hope to yo-yo lucky.... Again!
  5. I would add that our recent away match at Stoke was PLesque in that we appeared to dominate but created few clear cut chances whereas Stoke played a less attractive brand but had more shots on target. Basically, in the PL we risk getting picked off. We do not need to create half the chances we do but we need a better conversion rate. In other words we have plenty of scope to tighten up and trust in the likes of Buendia to create chances in tighter games.
  6. We let in some awful goals this season but the good thing is the issues are identifiable. I wish there was a breakdown but from memory: Too many set pieces, especially corners, which point to our marking system. Poor goalkeeping early season. Losing the ball upfield (we weren't often the victims of sustained pressure) and this is the bread and butter of PL sides. Switching off just before half time. Letting in the first goal, again crucial in the EPL. It did make for exciting games though!
  7. I remember a match as a 14 year old when we played Villa after gaining promotion. Heaven forbid.
  8. I thought Zimmermann's interview immediately post match was impressive. No wonder this player has elevated himself, his attitude and clarity were proper leadership quality. He is Farke on the pitch as should be the case.
  9. That half was a summary of our season. Cutting another side to ribbons but could be 2 - 2. This game is not a foregone conclusion.
  10. So. What are your predictions? I'm going for 6 - 0.
  11. In the PL you will lose most weeks. You play in fits and starts at a variety of days and times and can play one home game in a month. Players need the experience to deal with this, to move on and 'go again.' We have a young and inexperienced squad. I'd like to see an experienced 'good character' or two come in on loan as wages will be high. We pulled this off with Rhodes who, along with others, has done a great job around the team and squad. We now need that at PL level.
  12. Is the OP an 'I want, I want' Millennial? It is always tough in the final strait and harder still to win from the front. Of course nerves kick in: allied with some game changing refereeing going against us. But our supporters have been too entitled and too expectant. Just because something is mathematically possible over Easter does not mean it's a failure not to happen. I was at the beam back yesterday. If the mood there is replicated in front of the players no wonder they get affected by nerves. It would be great to finish on a high. The players and DF deserve that but this promotion was won over 44 games not 4.
  13. I think for us to beat Blackburn after SU's inevitable tonking of 1p5wich thus setting up a final day Champions game would be fine. Both sides are away at Clubs with good squads. The players should want a title and a medal for themselves too.
  14. If anyone believes the s(um and their entitled manager have sufficient professional pride to even consider giving SU a game you probably also believe in the Tooth Fairy.
  15. You can certainly keep yours!
  16. That's what the Efl will need to ascertain and Lambert will need to conceal. He'll probably feed them all on suet pudding and chips with a couple of pints of Adams @2pm
  17. This website should run a questionnaire on the score. I think it will be SU 6 It 0. Infact, I think I'll put a bet on it.
  18. 1p5wich can do what they like at home to 'losing leads' on the final day. But what they do at Brammall Lane on Saturday is another matter. How bad can they be without the EPL investigating them? How poorly could Lambert set them up to ship goals? They will no doubt be happy to lay down to another defeat as there is no pride left in them and even happier to do so to the nearest rivals of a Club which has humiliated them for years and who their coach holds a grievance against. They will no doubt be motivated to roll over for the incentive of seeing their opponents go top on goal difference. Just sit back and anticipate the final disgrace of a once proud club. Cobbold will be spinning in his grave as Town chuck a game big style. 💩
  19. Norfolk dialect dictionary: 'hull, ' verb, to throw or cast 'blaaast bor, did yew see them thar ****s Hull that game?'
  20. Great so Trybull can walk his dog a week after the end of the season?
  21. Sheff Utd have to be favourites to win the title. We just have to beat Blackburn to take that to the final day. It was a good point today and the three other draws were achieved under pressure and with character. The late Reading goal is the only black mark. We leak far too many goals and have been successful against the odds with a very young side. Four draws are frustrating but we never cracked as Leeds have and so we deserve to go up.
  22. Thinking about this again I suspect Farke might start with the same 11 as against Weds. Vrancic might get a start in place of Leitner but it wouldn't be like Farke to put Emi straight back in. Infact, Emi will now get even more intimidation as he has shown his short fuse and Farke might decide to save him for later in the game. I'll take a draw now but anything could happen from Stoke being on the beach to their big time players turning it on as Wednesday's did as it's the leaders. Forget all this 'win at Easter' rubbish. It'll take as long as it takes. I expect it will be Blackburn at home. We just need to go to Stoke and earn the right and I don't see Farke tinkering. He trusts his players and will probably stick with them. The only other consideration which might affect things, beside fitness, is best formation, square pegs and all that.
