Would you rather be Burnley or Norwich?
Alex replied to sgncfc's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Burnley all day, I think people make more about their style than what it is, they actually play alright football at times. They play to their capabilities and are good at it and often get results, unlike us who try and play too much pretty football and get beat every week. They finished 7th just a couple of seasons ago which got them into The Europa League. -
Claudio Ranieri is back!
Alex replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Whilst it is very difficult to achieve anything like he did at Leicester, I wouldn't say that he has done a bad job elsewhere. He didn't do great at Fulham but then neither did any other manager. He did reasonably well with Roma. In his most recent post Sampdoria were bottom when he arrived and he kept them up easily and finished in the top half the following season. -
Claudio Ranieri: Watford newest manager
Alex replied to NCPFC's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Good appointment for Watford that. -
Can genuinely see Derby's record getting beat this season.

We are also miles behind Watford and that showed last week. 7 points behind Watford and 9 points behind Brentford already.

How does everyone cope at work
Alex replied to Midlands Yellow's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I also live in The West Midlands, I am like fair enough when it's Villa, Wolves fans but my friend who is a Coventry fan was giving it the big one the other day after we had been beaten by Watford. I just thought we would batter you as would Watford and you have no chance of having the chance to yoyo because you won't be anywhere near the promotion places anytime soon. I genuinely do not care about the opinion of fans of Chelsea, Liverpool and the rest of the so called big 4/5 when they have no affiliation with the place where there team are based and rarely go to games. I tend to just ask those fans how many games did you go to last season or been to this season? Or innocently ask did you go to the game at the weekend? Knowing full well they never. -
I think the conspiracy theories are a bit silly if I am honest. Yes, the big clubs probably do get the rub of the green but I don't think officials are actively going against us becaue they don't want us in the league. Burnley seem to have managed. We lose every week and its not because of the officials.

We were second best, stayong in this league has nothing to do with referees.

I hope we never get that **** of a ref again

Yeah refs fault.... -

Alex replied to chicken's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I thought that they were clearly the better team and looked more dangerous than us. They had quite a few chances they didn't take also. They come and done a job on us. -

Come off it mate. Watford outplayed us and could have scored more. If we are getting battered by Watford at home then we have no hope. Also Leicester were battered 4-1 by West Ham before they played us and had quite a few players out and whilst I hate to break the news Arsenal are not exactly a top side anymore they haven't won the league in 17 years. -

Exactly! I don't think many managers would get many leaue wins with this squad. Watford barely spent anything in the summer but have assembled a squad more capable of competing than we have. I know people will say they are a hig physical team but guess what you need physicality in this league. I actually thought they looked head and shoulders above us in terms of footballing ability as well if I am being brutally honest. -
They are absolutely lightening fast up front though.

He didn't play at our place in the last game tbf.

Alex replied to Capt. Pants's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I understand what you are saying and you are right to an extent but lets not hide behind the fact that Leicester have hardly hit the ground running and come into the game after the back of a 4-1 hammering to West Ham United, Arsenal have lost all of their games conceding 9 and scoring 0 until yesterday and they also lost 2-0 to a side that we come up with. -

Transfer Rumour Thread Season 2021/22
Alex replied to Alex Moss's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I can't say that I agree with this. Sissoko is an excellent signing for a team who have just come up. He adds so much experience. Will Hughes is nowhere near the same level. Sissoko has a CV thah Will Hughes could only dream of. -
Probably be the worst thing for us that Leicester got hammered tonight. Probably would have been better if they had won and then come to Carrow Road complacent. They will need to do something after this and they have the right manager in my opinion. They will probably be well up for it now.
-
West Ham finished 6th last season. Leicester are having a bad day in the office but they have a brilliant squad. They will probably have more good days at the office than bad ones.
-
It was a very well worked goal for West Hams goal but I imagine Leicester may have been in this game if it wasn't for the PĂ©rez sending off. They are a very good outfit with some excellent players in their side, they have finished 5th in the passed two seasons for a reason. Can we get something from the game? Yes, do I expect to get anything form the game? No.

Manchester City Match Thread

Didnt notice at the game how soft the goals were, but having just watched the highlights the goals that we conceded were extremely soft. -
Manchester City Match Thread
Alex replied to The Bristol Nest's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Free hit this one really, I just hope that we don't get completely obliterated and the players confidence gets knocked. I imagine Manchester City will br raring to go after their defeat against Spurs last week. -
To be honest I think any team would have to been pretty poor to lose to Arsenal the other night. I watched Watford and Villa on Sky Football last night and Watford battered Villa and should have won by more. However, Arsenal and Villa are not Liverpool. I will judge more when we come up against a team outside of the top 4 because our season is not going to be defined by games agaisnt the likes of Man United, Liverpool and Man City.

The homophobic chant at Billy Gilmour

Almost every fanbase have sung Chelsea rent boy, Chelsea rent boy, for years. I don't get why its an issue now like this is something new.
