We've done alright out of poor old Newcastle, I wonder who we will sell at 3x the going rate to rich new Newcastle. Not a club whose recruitment is particularly shrewd, barring Saint-Maximin.

Kabak appears to have the attributes required of a cdm and would allow us to play a more attacking shape. It's not a square peg into a round hole. He looks far better on the ball than Amadou for instance.

I think the one thing we haven't really learnt from last time around, and Watford and Brentford already had in their squads was that we're are physically too small as a team. When confidence is low and passes started going astray we were not competing physically. Normann changes that a bit. I'd also be keen to see kabak in a cdm role, not sure if he's done it before, with Normann operating further into the middle of the park.

St benedicts Street City side of Dereham Road had a few good pubs, not been since lockdown though. The X bells and the plough. Plus some nice places to eat down there.

Aarons, Normann (on limited evidence), Giannoulis (in a back 5), Cantwell, Pukki Both Sargent and Tzolis look a bit wet behind the ears at the moment but can see the quality is there. Same to a lesser extent with Rashica. Krul would have had a shout before this season.

Other than Giannoulis in for Williams, I think it's about as good as we've got. Perhaps a case for Gilmour instead of Kenny. PLM looked good on Tues and deserves a start. We just need to make sure that Gibson isn't taking the ball from Krul under pressure. Neither are assured enough in that left corner.

Had a poor night definitely but some of the comments about someone who is only 20 are plain ridiculous. Farke should have taken him off at 60mins and perhaps saved some of this bile. At that age a couple of bad touches early on can upset a half, if it continues then the whole game is a write off. He was up against Konate, a first team player, and gomez another player who would likely play in most prem backlines. If nothing else it was a lesson for him against some World level defenders.

I think Normann tiring was pretty pivotal in the game. He of course was implicated in their 2nd, and had he been on the pitch and fully fit probably would have been where Kenny was for the 3rd. We were out muscled. Billy gave his best but sissoko was kicking his a45e. He should have gone down more but we got very little protection from the ref. Josh king bullied max too. They won the physical battles everywhere except near Normann, kazak and Sargent. Cleverley and their other cm were streetwise, bought fouls to break up play. Otherwise it was an even game with periods of play swinging in each team's favour. When we were ticking, there was 15 mins when we should have scored to take the lead. had them under all sorts of pressure and Watford resorted to the hoof. It isn't all doom and gloom. But it does feel like it.

I think the league in general is stronger which will make it more difficult, but still possible. In other words I have no doubt we are in with a shout but need others to have a meltdown. I'm thinking Newcastle, Southampton, Brentford, Watford, Burnley, Palace and wolves will be in and around us.

Gees! We beat a very poor Newcastle 3-1, following week a decent Newcastle turn up and beat Spurs away. It's football. We'll probably spank Man City in response.
