2. Sorry ''Blimey'' but I see only one tool - and it ain''t the monkey wrench on my desk at the minute. 1 - Saved us from relegation after Hamilton left, 2 - Took the club to the play-offs only losing on pens, 3 - Got the club promoted to the Prem (who else achieved that? the ''messiah'' walker? the experienced manager rioch?) - Here''s an idea. STOP LIVING IN THE PAST!. For crying out loud, I acknowledge that Worthy has actually done us alot of good. I don''t deny that Worthy has also gotten us into a far better position now than we were in when Hamilton left. But let''s assess the position found now, shall we? A team of players assembled with more money than I think any Norwich manager has ever had. Arguably one of if not the most talented squad in the division. The most financially sound position since the days of being in the Premiership the first time. The most supported team in the Championship. So, why can''t this "young, talented manager" convert that totally enviable position into success? I''ll tell you why. Because of his fundamental flaws; His tactical nouse is about as bad as it comes. Playing a 4-3-3 at Reading when they rely heavily on their wingers and full backs. Making completely bizarre substitutions - 1-0 down and bringing Doherty to play at right back, for instance when he play up front. His transfers have been entirely questionable. Firstly he released/sold more players than we bought in in a team that is incredibly small anyhow. To answer this we rely on short term loans which are totally rubbish for consistency within the team. Secondly, the ability of the rest he brought in are totally questionable. Sure, we need to bring in squad players - but frankly everyone we''ve brought in (with the exception of Earnshaw) are completely underwhelming and deserving of squad player at best. The training he and his staff institute. Why the heck does no one realise that in all the seasons he''s been here, the injury rate has been incredibly high!? This can''t be a coincidence. The total inability to bring through talented youngsters. Why can''t we actually keep faith in youngsters like Jarvis, Jarvis, Henderson, Lewis, Shackell et al. Why did we release Danny Crow when the lad was obviously potentially talented. Penultimatly this insistance to include personal favourites like Hughes, Thorne and Fleming over players that deserve a chance. The Safri and Helveg incident last year is testament to that. Not to mention his insistence on playing the big man little man combo for some unfathomable reason. 4 - Almost kept the club in the Prem at the first time of asking - Yeah, because we were so going to stay up when we didn''t win a game away all season. 5 - Signed some great players such as Darren Huckerby, Dean Ashton either for a great bargain or under people''s noses - Yeah, he signed some great players didn''t he. Huckerby. Ashton. Sure. Argueably Francis (half a season wonder). Drury. Yeah. Safri, definatly. Hmmm... Edworthy? Maybe. Svensson and Leon, I''d also say. Eight players. Eight out of close to 40. The full list (minus Dickson Etuhu for some reason) is http://www.worthyout.co.uk/stats.html. 6 - Created a great backroom staff - Who are so great they can''t even teach the players to stay onside or remain motivated. They''re a great assest they are!
3.
I won''t be going, I actually quite like Worthy and want him to stay. Reasons for him to stay. He got us promoted. He has brought in good players..Hucks..Ashton..Earnshaw etc. He works well with Delia. He loves NCFC. He tells us after a game all that he thinks is positive and Negative..You know where you stand. He states the commitment in the team. He won manager of the month more than once. He gets the best out of the players and works well with them. He loves the supporters. He is a good manager. Delia loves us all and has all our best interests in mind stating..(at a football match)..Where are ya? Delia does all our cooking and keeps us all well fed and in the money. So why would we want Worthy out? It is disruptive changing managers all the time, let him stay and let him get on with the job I say, you know it makes sense. Don''t support the protest I say and give it a wide berth.
Fans like you are the reason this football club is going to the dogs. We don''t have a hope of improvement under Nigel, and until you realise that you''ll be watching sub-standard football at Carrow Road.
4. The idea behind this thread is to unite all the thinking into one big thread showing our complete dissatisfaction towards the situation at the club as it stands instead of 10-15 little threads. For me, Worthington has to go. Here''s why; A clear inability to recognise where we are going wrong and how to rectify a situation. It just looks now as if we''ve reached the end of Worthington''s ability. He clearly doesn''t know what he can do to turn it around. A continued reliance on players who continue not to perform. Why do we persist with Thorne when we have McKenzie and Johansson who would be far better deputising? Further inability to get the best out of players who could do so much for the team. We still lob balls to Earnshaw. We still play Johansson (who SCORED on his first game for the club up front) on the right wing. Hell, we spent an entire season playing a Swedish International Striker on the right wing. Questionable signings time after time. Of all of Worthington''s signings, how many have truely been successes? Francis, Safri, Drury, Edworthy, Doherty, Svensson, McKenzie, Ashton, Huckerby and Earnshaw. Arguably also Johansson and Davenport. That''s 11 out of 32 transfers and loans. That''s not a good record at all. Retreat from "traditional" Norwich ideals. Even when we were relegated from the Prem both times, we were known for our good, attacking football. Now, we lob balls up for a big man. Hoof ball is the order of the day, despite being relegated last season playing attractive, attacking football. As a result of which, we''ve clearly suffered. Inability to bring through youth. Where have former prodigy''s Shackell and Jarvis gone?! I appreciate they''ve been injured alot, but recently it doesn''t seem as if they''ll get a sniff ahead of countless loanees and journeymen players brought in in rash moves. Unbelievable number of injuries. Why is this blamed on luck? We''ve had 88 injuries this season - and it happened last season too. Why? More importantly, what are we doing to counter act it? Tactical naievity. Clear example is against Reading whose success is based around heavy use of wingers and full backs pushing forward, and we played 4-3-3 - how on earth are we supposed to combat their wingers with no one on the wings?! Finally, because our supporters should get better. We have the best support in this league (proven, I can''t find the stats, but we have the best attendences in the League). We deserve far, far better. Ok, so there are also some counter-arguements against Worthy getting the sack. Summed up, they are; Worthy shouldn''t be blamed; the players should. It is after all, them that take to the field on a weekly basis and perform poorly. I don''t buy this one. Whatsoever. Yes, the players take to the field, but they take to the field with set instructions, which if not followed they will be dropped. Further, the boss is the one who should IMO ensure the correct training regimens are in place to motivate the players in the right manner and work on any issues the team has. Doug Livermore is also at fault for this; it is equally his obligation to ensure the above happens, and it clearly isn''t.Further, tactical idiocies are all the fault of Mr Worthington, without a doubt. Further, let us not forget that this season the turn over of players at the club has been phenominal. We''ve seen four different players play at right back, six different players playing in the centre of defence, more players out on this right wing than I care think about, more central midfielders than I dare think of and more. Worthington should be given time - he got us to the play off final, won us the league and came within one game of keeping us in the Prem. How much time are we going to give? The man has had an entire season which has been calamitious from start to finish. We''ve abandoned our attacking football in favour of poor hoof balls, we''ve brought in several questionable signings, we''ve played some shocking football and conceeded more goals than all bar three teams below us. Essentially, that''s why I think Worthington should be removed. Anyone else care to elaborate further?
5. IMO, Norwich should be looking to the future and appointing a young, upcoming manager like Phil Parkinson to take the reigns. Walker''s a true legend here - no doubt about it, I still remember his tenures and generally regard them as successful, the first for obvious reasons and the second because it did lay the foundations for the club we have today as well as bringing in Iwan. However, he''s been out of the game quite some time, and he''s getting on a bit now. Not to mention it all seems a bit regressive - honestly, what would Mike bring to the club that we haven''t seen before? We should be looking at going forward and working to getting a manager who has long term credentials, new ideas and ability to take this club forward. I don''t think that man is Mike Walker.
6. Yes, we''re dropping far too deep and not giving the ball to our wide men enough. Sounds as if Huckerby and Earnshaw are playing well, though.
7. Away fans sitting with the home fans should be very discreet. Fair enough if you choose to support Ipswich, but you have to understand by sitting in the home section  you imply you are a home supporter. If you''re not then be discreet; I doubt anyone minds a discreet away fan. But we had someone who was genuinely inciting the home fans after they scored in the Jarrold and he got thrown out - rightly so. Fans like that, that do celebrate exuberantly in front of home fans should be removed - if not, as you put it losing your seat could be the least of their worries.
8.
Firstly, before I recieve any death threats, fellow City fans have demanded this from me, okay?. [:$] Come on Ipswich, you know you can beat us, hell, anyone can can''t they?. Our manager..........can''t  Our strikers.................can''t either!. Our defence has more holes than Sheepshanks pockets, so give us a bloody good stuffing tomorrow!. The above has been written under extreme duress!.[;)]
I think that''s disgraceful Wiz. Ipswich are the enemy. Regardless of who''s where (we could be bottom, they could be top of the Premiership) I''d still want us to win, even if losing means we ditch Worthy.
9.
No. We don''t need anybody with an attitude problem at the club. He showed how much he "loved" Norwich City in his last season at the club, so I should think he''s burnt all his bridges when it comes to the question of a return.
100% agreed
10. I totally disagree. Robson has a very blinkered view on Earnshaw; he never gave the lad a chance, prefering to rely on Horsefield and Campbell with Kanu occasionally. The reason WBA lost so much was because of Megson and his inability (Strangely like Nigel) to marshall a midfield capable of dominating the middle of the park and provide the opportunities for Earnshaw to score. To blame the losses (or lack of wins) on one player is astounding. These comments are made by Robson to spite Earnie
11.
No not in the team! I mean hyperthetically. ( let''s face it we''re all great managers aren''t we?) If you were in charge of the team who would be the first name on the team sheet any why? Just to start I''ll go first Adam Dury - Reliable, very rarely beaten in a one on one and is improving as an extra attacker.
Totally agree
12.
Duke I#m not a season ticket holder was last season but saw the writing on the wall and felt give some others the dubiuos benefit of my season ticket.  Got Hat trick tickets though big nistake. But thanks for the positive feedback, only negative from the areas I knew flak would come from.  Hoping there are many others who think along the same lines and the club if hit in the pocket have a managerial rethink.
What winds me up Pete is not what your doing, it''s how you''re doing it. You have every right to cease supporting your club financially - it''s the basic consumer right. What narks me - incredibly much, to be quite honest - is that you then come here on your high horse and proclaim to the world your point of view like some morally righteous tart. It''s exactly the same as when someone - offended by the opinions of the people on the board - makes a post announcing his departure, expecting a wave of "Please don''t go" type of messages. This board has seen it''s fair share of them, and each and every time has rightfully given it the scorn it deserves. The only difference this time is a change in the medium you are threatening to leave. Feel free to go; that''s your perogative. Just dont come here on your high horse looking for the praise you''ve unfortunatly been credited with.
13. ...Graeme Souness'' Green and Yellow Army?! Could happen!
14. Plus Fleming can do a job if we''re still in this league
15. Yes, except read that report it claims we''re Premiership strugglers and that Phil McGuire plays for Aberdeen. He transferred to Doncaster last summer. It''s a good year old. Ignore it.
16. Yep; we have some reservations (rightly so) over Etuhu. But he wears Yellow and Green now so let''s stop the countless repetitive debates and start supporting him. Robinson too.
17. Absolutely hilarious. Last week sometime they appointed this bloke - Michael Anderson, supposedly a big wig in a Pharmaceutical Company named Flairford - to their board of directors after he invested £500k into the club for a 15% share. Anyway, he had background checks and all sorts done and was declared okay. When it was announced, people soon began asking questions; specifically as none of them seem to be able to find this company despite extensive lists of pharmaceutical companies being avaliable for the public on the internet. Today it was discovered that he was involved in Aldershot and Ketteridge. Although he claims innocence, and was the one to uncover the fraud, he still offered to suspend taking his position as director until a full investigation has been completed. His former business partner has just been indicted for 112 claims of fraud! http://ipswichtown.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=911&p=2&stid=8400759
18.
£2 million from the Morrison bid
Yes, because that wasn''t spent on signing Davenport, Lisbie, Wright, Robinson and Etuhu on loan and the £450k we had for Etuhu at all! Seriously, wake up. We don''t have that sort of cash to spend whatsoever without the sale of our players.
19. My big criticism is that people expect too much; they want a solid right back with attacking ability and a right winger with flair pace and ability to cross. Wake up folks! Those sort of players are hardly going to be avaliable for the prices we''re able to afford, are they?? David Wright represents about the level of player we can attract and afford. A capable Championship right back, that had just four matches to show what he was capable of. IMO, he was head and shoulders above Colin in terms of consistency, even if his ability on a Colin good day was about similar. For me, I''d sign him up. As for a right winger, I agree we need someone badly. But like I said; who?
20. There''s alot of speculation linking Real with an £8mil + Graveson move for Albert Luque. £8mil would quite comfortably get Ashton.
21.
Just heard Etuhu on radio saying he looks up to McVeigh LOL.
lol very good
22.
In response to AJs post Worthy Stays: we have a chance of turning it around Worthy goes: worthy haters continuing going to games but will stop going when we go down
What an absolute pile of rubbish. How much longer are we going to have to wait for this miraculous turn around?! ncfcpremier I highly doubt you go to any of the matches. If you were at Derby last Saturday as I were there is NO WAY you could even contemplate such a daft opinion. Your name is ncfcpremier - but your opinion makes you sound more like ncfcleagueone
23. No doubt Norwich this season have suffered because of a very heavy fixture list. Games are often followed by another game in a matter of days and there''s no doubt in my mind that the squad''s level of fitness has suffered because of it. So why hasn''t Nigel - who he himself has admitted the fixture list being quite heavy going - recognised this and thought about using a squad rotation system for the more tiring positions? I appreciate players (ie Doc and Dav) have worked well together and don''t deserve changing, but players like Huckerby and Hughes on the right wing switch with Brennan and McVeigh occasionally. This keeps our opponents guessing, keeps our players fit, keeps our players happy and keeps them lean and keen.
