  1. 6 more days...just want those to move asap..if no more ins and outs then great, we have a squad that feels as good as we could have hoped at the start of the window.
  2. Quite possible Leeds did have a list with Sarge and Piroe on it, 1 or 2 others to maybe...but thought...ok the Swansea guy is what we want, lets find a media rag, tell them weve a list of interested and throw them the Norwich guy as a name...the DF connection ensuring lots of fan waffle...then we can quietly dive in and get the Swansea guy in as our striker. If that is how it went then as usual it worked pretty well with the waffle.
  3. Even 1 or 2 Ipswich fans have donated to it seems...this is brilliant stuff...football coming together and winning...the cancer charity wins...and Westy wins...heart warming.
  4. If we had ownership with greater wealth we would still have an issue of disposal of key assests...happens all the time, even at clubs in the Prem with huge super rich owners.
  5. Know nothing about this but it does raise a point that no one else has touched upon..the original media rag that started this whole Sarge rumour said Leeds had a list of strikers they were interested in and Josh's name was on that list..so who else was on that list?..why just mention Josh?...is it because of the DF connection?..i very much doubt Josh would be the sole guy Leeds would be after. But agree that we need to keep Josh at any cost...he is indeed integral..and do well here for a season or two and he will be ripe for much bigger places than Leeds.
  6. ty Ricardo, what a smashing day all around, great performance and result and even the weather was about perfect to. Cannot argue about you choosing Josh as MOTM, he is a turning out to be some centre forward and with his annoyance to defenders partner Barnes i dont think to many defences this season will be keen to face those two. But with Rowe's purple patch it feels like goals can come from anywhere now and with Dimi and Stacey doing so much also it is suddenly a joy to see City play...fun and entertainment are back...priceless.
  7. Yes, minor hamstring issue, anything from 1 to 5 weeks out, given the international break included. So we had 6 out injured on Sunday yet still got 9 guys on the bench that covered most positions on the pitch. At some stages thru this season, if we had say 10 guys or more out injured then yes we may get a bit stretched, but right now, with or without a loan or two coming in, i dont see us having a thin squad. It may depend on what you refer to...numbers or quality...numbers we are fine and quality...well, that can change week by week...dependant on any individuals form and confidence.
  8. We all love our Josh, he is the one enduring guy who has made it thru these tough couple years when other ones like Rash and Tzolis just didnt cut it...even when he was pushed on to the wings and on occasion looked like a turkey about to trip on his own feet..he has never given less than 100% in any game . Had to wait for Teemu to depart to finally claim the centre forward spot, he is the kind thats the charisma and adoration to become a Canary legend. Its not just about the goals and boy i do hope he gets his share of those this season..its his whole persona, the way he never gives up..for me he is a striker and should carry the highest value price in our squad, arguably Sara aside.
  9. And according to TEAMtalk Leeds are plotting a swoop for Kenny McLean as a replacement for Tyler Adams..well why does'nt Daniel just bid for our entire squad in one go?..would make things much easier.
  10. No one has really mentioned it but a lot of this seasons ins and outs must have been done with one eye on next season as well as this season. With such a strong looking trio being relegated from the Prem we find ourselves with a strong looking Championship it would be a massive achievement to get City into the top 6 never mind the autos and of course...next season City find themselves without any parachute funds or regular Prem funds for first time in quite awhile and us as a self sustaining club. So it was essential to see the Aarons and Rashicas depart for some incoming returns plus get some high earners of the payroll and replace with free transfers and likely lower wage earners. The monies received from the likes of Max and Milot will im sure be hedged in the likely scenario of us being a Champs side next season. With all that in mind i think this Summer transfer window has been about as good as one could wish for and if the evidence of the first two games is an indicator for the season ahead its going to be a fun and entertaining one..maybe on our off days some pretty big defeats and on our good days when it all clicks some resounding wins. Lets enjoy the ride. OTBC.
  11. Agree with Lakey about the enjoyment aspect..enjoying the entertainment of games, seeing your side with desire and spirit as Lakey also mentioned...going forward, scoring goals...this above all is for me the over riding factor and after least season a breath of fresh air. Crazy and fun game, thought a draw was the fair result, so much for both sets of fans to enjoy. Not really bothered to much with all the assesments about our defence right now, its only been 2 games, but if it means in the long term of this season that we will win more games than last season by having the ability to score more than our opponents in many games, plus keeping the fun and entertainment value, i will take that with open hand. Way to early to assess who will be top 6 material, but think City have enough to be top half at the very least..but a good and fun start from the boys. OTBC.
  12. Absolutely agree. "In 1897 the Quag was valued at 2s. 3d, then for a time his value was undetermined due to the war years. By 2013 he was maybe valued around 10 mill spondoolies, dropping to maybe 750k by 2023. Here in 2033 his value is around 11p (which equates to about 2s. 3d) but rumours suggest City are still sitting and pondering on a move for Quag."
  13. Russ Martins Southampton, Daniels Leeds, Alex Neil's Stoke, them lot down the road...its going to be a crazy mixed up season. After a good pre season and a last minute winner against Hull things are just going to well are they not?..on that basis alone and that predictions are just mindless and clueless fun i will say 3-0 to them. But after just one game anything can happen as no club can have any kind of defining form yet, good or bad.
  14. If there is any credence in this rumour then it would take a fee north of 20 mill...totally different set of circumstances to Max. 3 years left on contract, that Webber statement about turning down 20 mill in Jan, only Duffy and Gibson fit CDMs apart from Omo, City reluctant to sell. But of course it could happen, lets just hope a replacement is targeted should it happen.
  15. Leeds already have Luke Ayling, Cody Drameh and Sam Byram (1 year contract) in that postion so im sure Daniel will cope for now. Horsefly is right, if anyone had said City would grab Jack Stacey plus 10-12 mill in exchange for a want away Max at the start of this window then im sure most fans would have said thats good business...and the end result looks like thats how its going to be. If the presumption is that Milot will be going to Gala then that could mean City would be getting a potential 18-20 mill from the two sales, which in the reality of our current status as a mid table Champs side is about as good as could be. What City would do with that potential sum of course is another matter and topic...very much doubt it would all go on new players.
  16. Predictions?..Itll be the start of Autumn...15C...driving rain and windy. The football?...a lottery, 50/50 either way so maybe a draw.
  17. Indeed...seem like Saints want a fee well beyond 20 mill for ex Chelsea guy Livramento as there was a big sell on fee involved to Chelsea, so whether an agreement can be reached with Newcastle who knows...lots of ifs and buts there and its all got to fall into place for Saints to buy Max as replacement. Heck, unless either City are desperate enough to shift Max and Milot for cash strap purposes or a concrete bid comes in for either i wont be surprised to see them both here still come end of August..then there are the question marks over Omo and Krul to..but the longer of course that potential outs are still here the shorter time it gives City to find replacements...Tempus Fugit.
  18. No idea, Lakey got it spot on, no one can predict the unpredictable. For me position at end season is just so far away right now and much less important than a few other factors. First up its us fans that need to be patient as heck, starting with even the 1st game, Hull are as likely to beat us as we are them, so one defeat and the forums go into auto DW out..dont need that. Also to some awkward fixtures...2 against the southern mob who seem as if they think its their time...2 against a team led by the former beloved Daniel..but as fans..whatever the results of those games..we have to get thru them and stick with Wagner, even if he is on a rolling contract...we got thru Alex Neil returning leading out another side. Another month of the transfer window to...seems the onus is on the outs before we need anymore ins. More than anything just want to see some wins at home...last season was just so painful at the Carra..then see where that takes us.
  19. Those who have said Gala have dropped interest in Rashica may look to be wrong, if one media site is to be believed, saying its very much on and with the Gala Vice Presiden in England. Whether the 7 mill euro offer on the Gala side can be upped by a mill or two to get nearer Citys valuation remains to be seen
  20. After watching that Young Boys farewell vid to 'Fasi' and after 6 or so years, 250 plus games, 5 title wins, 2 cup wins etc etc you begin to just realise how much of a new challenge it is for the guy. Really do hope he enjoys being here, slotting in well and becoming a well liked Canary...much like Timmy Klose was. Welcome Christian!...or should that be Fasi? p.s. slot in the winner against that lot down South and jobs done.
  21. First game, vs. Sheff. Wednesday if the FA Cup 1967, 41.000 in the Carra, we lost but as a young lad was a great occasion with me rattle down at the front. Had attended a few reserve games the season bfore just to get acquainted with being a young City fan. First away game...cant recall but likely in the early 70s at Portaloo Road. Favourite game...unknown really but most memorable was Colchester vs. Peterborough, sometime in the 70s..we were on the train to Ipswich for the Town vs. City derby when we heard it was postponed but that the game at Layer Road was still on..so not to waste a day and wanting to see some footy we stayed on the train and went to the Colchester game...quite a few City fans did that i recall...forget who we chose to support...maybe Colchester if i recall.
  22. The only certain thing is the fans expectations from a year ago when quite a few were thinking top 2 and many thinking top 6...how thats changed. I always thought a mid table finish with around 60 points...similat to Farke's 1st season..which is pretty much how it ended...but that end...those last 10 games or so were hard to take for any City fan. Now it seems only a few are thinking top 6 and many mid table..which is much more realistic. But its hard to gauge any predictions for sure right now, with many weeks of the transfer window to go, despite the reality of facing a tigerish talking and seemingly confident Humber outfit about to clash with us very soon as the season opener. Also with SW leaving and the almost stasis feeling concerning the Attanasio situation, it leaves us with an up in the air feeling. For sure we can only take one game at a time and at least hoping our home form is better this season than last...that is what really hurt us. OTBC.
  23. Would Harry Kane be suitable enough for you?
  24. From a report i saw just 2 days ago the 7 mill Gala are willing to pay is Euro not pounds...5 mill Euro and 2 mill euro adds..if thats so then there is quite the difference if City are seeking 10 mill Euro.
