1. Crofty''s played under 3 different managers and during one of the worst spells in the club''s history, yet you never hear him complain.  He just gets on with it and despite his inconsistencies (and until this season, his lack of fitness) always seems to give his best efforts.  At the moment, he''s one of the few bright spots in a pretty awful season, and has scored the best goal too.
 2. Ferguson has got away with murder so many times in his career - I''m with Rafa on this one.
 3. Although not totally pointless, the fact we''ve had just 2 quarter-finals in the last 24 years makes me realise why some Norwich fans aren''t too bothered by it.
 4. Little to choose between Otsemobor and Omosuzi at right-back.  Neither has been consistent or impressive this season.  Think Bertrand needs a rest and Drury given a go, but at least the centre-backs are a nailed on starter.
 5.
I can remember the City Youth side that won the FA Youth Cup back in the 80''s (83?).  Certainly not many of these went on to make the grade at first team level and that was in the days when there was a clear opportunity for progression from youth team through the reserves to the first team.
Was a bit better than that.  Jerry Goss was the major success (eventually) but Louie Donowa and Tony Spearing were decent first team regulars.
 6.
[Did I hear something about Kavanagh being released from Sunderland........... not sure how old he is now but I suspect he would be good for at least this season and would probably make a good captain too.
Not now.  http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/carlisle_united/7819768.stm In any case he was good in the past but a bit injury prone now.
 7. Big blow for Sheff Utd.  That won''t go down well.
 8.
Roeder today all but confirmed Lupoli will start tomorrow, about time too Roeder, but we all know the only reason is because Russell is suspended,
To be honest, Roeder''s got no choice tomorrow because apart from Cort and the youngsters we literally have nobody else to pick from.  I''ve a horrible feeling he would have gone with Russell if available.
 9.
[While we certainly have a plethora of midfield players the disappointing thing is that we haven''t got a true gamebreaker in the sense of a creative playe that can unlock the best defences. Like many posters I thought Hoolahan might be that player, but he has largely flattered to deceive and is worrying one- footed, making him easier to defend against. I would have liked to have Sibierski given a go in the hole, but that''s not to be. Having said all that I totally agree that defence and attack are greater priorities at present.
Totally agree.  For me, Russell, Pattison and Clingan are decent enough but a bit samey (Clingan is the best of the 3) while Hoolahan has struggled to find his best position (again, I thought he''d be the man for the job).  There were times last season when I thought Fozzy might be the person for that, but for some reason has not performed this season. If anyone creative comes in, then someone of the above has to go.  Not that creative players are easy to find...
 10.
nothing like a good over reaction [:D] like everybody else i''d love at least one of the youth team to really make the breakthrough, hopefully this season but people have to remember youth and reserve team football is a completely different level to that of the Championship and many stars at youth level fall by the wayside. I was on the thefa website today and found this http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/TheFAYouthCup/NewsAndFeatures/Postings/2006/02/FAYouthCup_Leeds93.htm the 1993 youth cup final between Leeds and ManUtd, Leeds had a young lad called Jamie Forrester who was the star of their side and was on par with the likes of Becks, Scholes, Butt and Neville at that level but whilst all of them won numerous prem titles, a european cup and were regulars for England he was playing for the likes of Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Northampton in the bottom 2 divisions, he''s not exactly fallen by the wayside like many do ie. non league or out of the game but it shows that the best U18 players in the country don''t always go onto play at the highest level
Leeds actually beat us in the Semi-Final!  I think they won the first leg at Carrow Road 4-1 and were very impresive.  Pretty sure Cureton and Akinbiyi played up front for us that night - that was another good youth team we had. Yes, Forrester look a good''un although he had a decent career in the lower leagues as you say.
 11. I really hope they make the grade, but after many false dawns I am remaining cautious.  I can remember a few years ago we knocked out a very good Villa side in the Youth Cup, and gave Man Utd a tough game up north (the same season?).  There were some good individual players (a defender called Damien Batt sticks in the mind) but they never quite got through.  Hopefully it will be different this time - even one classy player, be it Johnbull, Rudd, etc, might make all the difference.
 12.

I dont particularly support either the "board out" or "Roeder out" calls but would like to see some outside investment come in even if it was just to freshen the board up and give a bit more business experience and knowlegde.
Agree with your sentiments about the board.  It doesn''t have to be a complete takeover but some fresh blood with new investment and some new business acumen.  Trouble is, would any new individuals be willing to compromise?  Would Delia and Michael give way?  In a perfect world, the new and the old could work together, but I suspect someone will have to give way.  The Turners are a good example that it isn''t likely to be that simple.
But who is going to put serious money into the club if the majority shareholding is retained by Delia & MWJ''s?
That''s partly what I was getting at.  Its going to be very hard to compromise and it will probably be a case of have one or have the other.  The perfect vision is of a Cullum-esque figure weighing in with investment and business nous with Delia as a figurehead.  I would settle for that but I accept its not likely to happen.

 14. Brilliant!  Wasn''t able to go tonight but delighted they won.  Rudd sounds a bit of a star.
 15. Has become a bit of a forgotten man from last year.  Thought he did a good job for us but not sure I''d have wanted him on a longer contract.
 16.

Ah, the Jamie Scowcroft tranfer rumour surfaces again - this must appear every transfer window!
Haven''t we been chasing him for several years now?  I''m sure Worthy was once after him.
Yep JJ, Worthy was linked a few times, then Grunty and I seem to recall Roeder was previously rumoured to be looking at him on loan (mind you the latter link could be applied to about 80% of players in the league).
He''s going to end up here when he''s about 40 isn''t he?  Or as manager!
 17.
I have to be there no matter what the weather, I try to go to a few away matches where ever possible, call me a nug if you like but Norwich city is my life I hate close season or when we have an International break,I have arranged my visit to Papworth to fit in with an away match as I can''t drive for for up to seven days after the op No one can or should be blamed for not going. but I live in hope that we will get it right soon
Good effort.  I hope its worth all your hassle.  For what its worth, I probably won''t go, but if it means an enthusiastic kiddie gets my seat for £1 then I''m more than happy.  The future generations have to start somewhere (although possibly not in the Snakepit mind...)

 19.
I was like you guys once 1980''s  - every home game , several away and could never see myself not attending matches , however in 1987 I got a job that involved working most saturdays and my attendance dropped off considerably . In 1990 I changed to a job that was not working saturdays and returned to Carrow Road regularly but noy away as I was now in a relationship and that was taking priority. In late 1992 my then girlfriend ( now wife ) fell pregnant and I decided to not attend home matches at all as with me working during the week we would not see each other much if I was at Footy for most of saturday. For the first month it was horrendous , looking at the clock all afternoon , making sure you were in earshot of a radio or TV , but after then it got easier because the habit was broken.
Same here really.  My weekends became disrupted once I changed jobs and had to work every other Saturday.  I too got out of the habit but have got used to it now.  Also, I quite like my job so its not a situation that is likely to change (if push comes to shove I have a very nice boss who would let me change shifts now and again if possible).
It''s personal choice. Go if you want to and don''t if you don''t. Maybe what you are saying is that there are actually people who buy season tickets who don''t really want them.
I think there are.  I''ve met people I could put in that category.  The only comeback I have to that is there is the ''fear'' element that because season ticket sales are so high year on year, people are afraid not to renew because they''ll never get back in, or lose their place with their mates.  So they renew anyway and face the consequences later.
 20.
Following on from the thread about renewing seaon tickets I have been giving next Tuesdays game a lot of thought. I only live 2 miles from CR and have a home season ticket and try to get to at least 50% of our away games, I am really not sure that I can be bothered with this game (I went to the away game and lets be honest it was not great - like the recent home league game). At the moment £15 and giving up an evening of my time all seems to much for the club (I cant belive I am thinking like this, I cant remember the last time I missed a home game in 24 years without a really good reason (wedding, family birthday party or funeral etc!!!). This is how low this club as sunk and to think we will prob not even get to the 3rd round next year. What are other posters thoughts and intentions for this game?  I understand it is not exactly selling well!
Your loyalty isn''t in doubt - you''re obviously a committed fan.  But its not the most attractive game on the calendar.  Its the third time we''ve played them in a few weeks, there isn''t an attractive tie awaiting us in Round 4, money is tight, and if it is half as cold as it is now then it will certainly put people off.  I suspect if it was a league game you wouldn''t be in any doubt, but despite what many say, the cup really doesn''t have that magic anymore.  Perhaps its worth it just to see the 59 shirts! If you''re not sure, hold tight for a bit, cause I''m sure there will still be tickets on sale close to the night (unless the kids have snapped them up already).
 21.
WE and they may not like it but we are all stuck!
Think we are completely stuck, and at the worst possible time considering our squad size and league position.  Not good.
 22.
I have to say, reading through this message board and the RoederOut website, the hatred just oozes from some of the postings. Passion for our club and team yes, criticism of players, the manager, board yes. But the amount of bile and hatred poured forth on here is just horrible. And it was the same with Worthington and Grant. They too were ''destroying'' our club and had to go. And when Roeder is driven out, the next manager will be accused of just the same, with just the same hatred, a few months down the line. This isn''t an opinion on Roeder either way - that''s for other threads. Is this what we follow football for? It reminds me of the 80s when passion spills over into something much more ugly.
I''m no great fan of Roeder and especially not the board, but there''s a lot of truth in what you say.  Tends to be more aggressive on here than at the actual matches though (at least where I''ve been sitting).
 23. A decent stop-gap but I can''t get that excited because he''ll be gone sooner than later.  Still, it''s better having Grounds than playing Drury at centre-back and likely to be more reliable than the hard working but very injury prone Kennedy.
 24.

Yes, wonderful stuff, I remember it like yesterday.
As do I Ricardo. What a thrill it was to be at those matches. I have not been able to find the match against Manchester United on youtube. Perhaps I just missed it. Does anyone know if it exists? What a cracker that game was.
I''ve certainly never seen any footage and I''ve collected lots of old clips over the years.  Just have to assume it doesn''t exist along with other great games we played between the 50''s and 70''s.
 25. Although I can see where Mick Dennis is coming from (I''m hopelessly trying to keep an open mind on Roeder), the trouble I have with him and Waghorn is that they are so cosied up with the football club, it means everything they write is from the same angle.  It wouldn''t matter if Norwich were mid-table, 5th from bottom, or actually bottom of the league, because Dennis would say the same thing anyway.  Mick and Rick have been defending the board year after year despite their appalling leadership, and backed Worthington to the hilt even when his time was clearly up.  There was a slight wavering against Peter Grant but even then there was no real backlash until he quit. Pity, cause I always found them good writers in the past but their articles are too unbalanced to be worth reading now.
