1.
yeah makes you wonder if they are going to be covering all serie a matchs or just AC ones till the end of the year! ;)
Apparently, its not on next week, so I guess the latter (as long as Italian TV are featuring Milan).  Wish the TV companies would realise football fans knowledge extends further than bloody Beckham! [:@]
 2.
Just say on that horrendous last day at Fulham we''d have stayed up where could we have been, would we of taken a similar path toWigan (7th in premier)and improved our stadium to a 35,000 seater stadium, been ambitious keeping the likes of Green,Ashton,Bentley, and going to sign players like Sidwell who was at Reading, things perhaps could of been so different or do you think we wouldn''t of invested much and followed a similar path to what we''ve taken,i know it''s hypothetical but what are your thoughts?
I''ve often thought what might have happened and suspect the team wouldn''t have broken up so quickly.  Francis and Bentley may have stayed, Helveg would have carried on at right-back, Ashton and Green wouldn''t have departed within a year.  We might have found the stability to survive another year rather than rebuild the squad over and over, and been able to keep a spine in the team. Then again, we still might not have invested, Worthy might still have lost the plot, Francis might still have gone on strike...
 3. Is there ever a week that doesn''t go by when he doesn''t have a pop at Reading? (or if not, its usually Wigan)  For a ''tinpot'' club, they''ve done a damn sight better than us in recent years.
 4. Next season scares the hell out of me whatever division we are in.  Take out the loans and possible departures and we are left with very little indeed.  We''ll be relying on more loans, cheap signings, and praying the kids from the Youth team are good enough and strong enough to make the jump quickly.
 5.
Just back from Preston...other things about today I''ll post elsewhere but Delia was amongst us today...photo calls, signatures, hugs and smiles all round and she took her seat I believe towards the back of another great turn out from City fans. As we left the ground, there was Roger Munby reaching for our hands to shake and thanking us for our support. On the face of it, nice gestures eh? ...but I couldn''t help thinking whether this was all a bit desperate. I''ve been to the majority of away games this season and although I''ve seen Delia sitting in her priviliged guest spot most of the time, this is the first time I''ve seen her amongst us, since last game of the Premiership campaign at Fulham. And as for Roger Munby, well that''s a first for me...
Signatures and photo calls?  Don''t know whether I feel proud or depressed at our supporters for that. [8-)]
 6. Looks like he has a small injury, but not surprisingly requires a fair bit of training. http://new.edp24.co.uk/content/Sport/story.aspx?brand=EDPOnline&category=Sport&tBrand=EDPOnline&tCategory=Sport&itemid=NOED13%20Feb%202009%2017%3A17%3A21%3A253
 7. Think he''s been bought more in mind for next season, cause I don''t see him figuring much at the moment.  Unfortunately, we also need players for this season given our predicament.
 8. Think you''re right Jas.  There isn''t really anybody to take the bull by the horns.  Although we have experience in players like Doc and Russell, they never come over as the sorts who look to take charge in a big way.
 9. Call me naive but I actually think there may be three worse teams than us.  It only delays the inevitable for another year though.
 10.

Not a terrible England display.  Spain are simply a much much better side. Glad Greeno got a long awaited cap.  Couldn''t do much about the goal though.
It was a terrible England display. A typical example - Lampard, paid £80k a week or more to play the game, can''t pass to Cole 10 yards away and the ball rolls out of play, with neither player under pressure from the opposition. Let''s face it, this country is crap at footy compared to numerous other countries. We looked hopeless with the ball (and without it) compared to Spain. The result of kids now spending every hour they can glued to the TV or playing X-box games, instead of hours at a time playing football in the park or street, like kids did when I was a nipper. Still, we''ll perform well as a nation at the next computer games World Cup!
I didn''t think it was terrible.  It was a very average display, but I have seen England play a lot worse than that against much poorer sides.  Agree about Lampard though - its a travesty he''s now got as many caps as Martin Peters. Hope Green gets a few more games now.  James has always been a liabilty for England - good at club level but just never an international keeper.
 11.
its shocking to realise he''s a better right back than what we have currently available...
Sad but true.  We have never really replaced Eddie have we? Even then Hughesy still had some shockers at RB but as a midfielder he was consistently dreadful.  I remember watching his 2nd game for us (a night match v Crewe) and realised Worthy had been seriously conned out of £500,000.
 12. Where in the article does Brown actually say "Onslaught"?  In fact he says some quite complimentary things about the club when he could easily have ripped us to pieces.
 13. Marshall veers from the brilliant to the downright awful.  However, to give him the benefit of the doubt, he is young and even Gunny made some serious clangers when he first joined us.  I''d still have him in goal right now rather than Nelson, while Rudd just isn''t ready yet.  We all know Lewis shouldn''t have been sold, but there''s not much we can do about that now.  Can''t afford too many more mistakes like Saturday''s though.
 14. Not a terrible England display.  Spain are simply a much much better side. Glad Greeno got a long awaited cap.  Couldn''t do much about the goal though.
 15.
Looking at our remaining games I am not optimistic that we will be in this league next season.
Sadly, my comments are probably just as relevant if we go down.  I still think (hope) we''ll scrape through somehow.
 16.
Right presuming we manage to stay up, what will we manage next season, will we be bought, will Gunn stay as manger, or one of the coach/AM getting the job, or an outsider, do the board have a secret stash of money for us to spend, or more cheap players, loans and freebies. I hope we keep Gunn as a coach/something else, get Dublin/Roberts/Boothroyd in as manager/coaches. we should have some money to spend, not much more than a Million or two (at the very very extreme most) i think with a bit of confidence, a couple of decent signings, making sure we keep hold of Crofty, getting the youth (Spillane, Renton, Rudd, Daley) into the first team. I think next season will be much better for are club, maybe even getting to the play-offs. sorry for being optimistic, and talking about next season rather than the finale of this one, but hey i felt like it.
I think its perfectly reasonable to talk about next season.  In fact its next season that worries me more than this one, because almost everything we have is short term.  Everyone could effectively leave, from the manager, coaches, loans, out of contracts (Croft), permanents (Clingan?), and even the board if the offer is right.  The whole club will have to rebuild once again, whatever division we are in. Personally I''d still take someone like Boothroyd if possible.  Realistically, I think it will be mostly what we have now, perhaps with Butterworth or Crook taking over from Gunny who will step aside.  I think play-offs and top 10 are going to be out of our grasp and it will be another battle for survival - cannot see where the money will come in apart from player sales.  Admire your optimism though GP and I certainly hope the kids break through. [Y]
 17. He''s doing enough to warrant another look.  There can''t be any harm in taking a chance on him again.
 18. Not sure of the first, although may be Bell as mentioned above.  Kevin Reeves started as a loan signing, but I think there was very rarely more than one, if any, in a whole season up to the late 90''s. Think the frenzy began with Bryan Hamilton and his ''gang of six'' or whatever they were called...
 19.
lol the old ground (Ayresome park) I gather you are talking about, what a shitehole, we got stood in the corner with fences about 7 foot high and weeds almost as high again, no proper bogs, in fact portaloo''s.  Christ alive, we really knew how to live it up in those days hehehe.  Although the pies were bloody lovely [:)]
Yep, it was Ayresome Park alright.  Great game but had a ropey journey there and back on Cabbage.  The police detained us in a lay-by for over an hour (miles from the ground) and herded us straight into the ground when we got there.  Was certainly a dump, but a memorable day nonetheless. Back to shirts though, I actually know somebody who has (at least) three which he has obtained at games.  Drury, Hucks and Mulryne I think.  Not sure if he has washed them though!
 20.

Just a question........ If you were to catch a shirt thrown into the crowd by a player, would you wash it or keep it in its worn state forever??
I have one of Gunny''s shirts from way back when we beat Middlesborough, I also had his gloves which I gave to a childrens hospice to raise money at an auction.  So I would keep it, just as it is.
I remember running down the terrace to catch those (and the shirts from other players) only to see them fly back over my head.  Doh! Good on you for auctioning the gloves. [y]
 21. A friend of mine caught a shirt after the Crewe game in 2004.  After trying it on there and then, I can safely say, "wash it"!!!  [+o(]
 22.

I''ll just be pleased when the Preston game comes around.  I''m bored to tears with hearing about bloody D''Urso regardless of what he did right or wrong. [|-)]
Just had another look at the penalty incident again and I think..... ha ha - only kidding! [:D]
Behave!  I''m going into hiding for a couple of days...
 23.
is it about to kick off again or is it just my puter
Not your ''puter.  It is being a bit temperamental again.
