Geoffrey Watling City Stand

Recommended Posts

I read at the start of last season that if we survived 2011-12 in the Premier League that the club would be looking at extending Carrow Road to 35,000, building up on the Geoffrey Watling City Stand. Wonder if this is still in the clubs plans. Certainly hope so. We''d still fill it I imagine.

I believe the plan was when we secured a Premiership place for a third year, so I''m guessing it many be during our next close season, into the 2014-15 season.

Yes you are right and there was a thread on here a couple of weeks back all about stadium expansion in general.

The City Stand really lets the ground down and wasn''t particularly impressive when it was built in 1986 - 26 years ago. Carrow Road will be much more of a modern stadia when it goes, but that will be at least a couple of more seasons, and a lot could happen by then...

Tangy I just love this new persona you''ve created for yourself of the cissy boy who can''t take as good as he gives but are you on a recruiting drive because I''m wondering why you are involving yourself in this?

Lets hope we don''t employ the same architects as Wolves did with their new stadium..

If they had any sense Wolves would take that corner out and build a hotel there.
Clearly designed by someone who never goes to a football match lol
With the standard of football on offer this season one would of thought these would have been among the most popular seats in the stadium

Sat in the County Lounges area for the first time Tuesday night, nice padded seat, great view but the leg room was cramped to say the least, thought putting another tier on top of the City Stand was a good option but a total new stand has to be considered in that area in my view, problem there how would we relocate the season ticket holders for a while ?would the Premier League allow us to give away supporters say 500 tickets until work completed.

With Wolves being so woeful last season, surely their fans would of been grateful of a view like the above?

LOL!
