Man Citeh Match thread

Recommended Posts

CITY: Ruddy, R. Martin, Drury, Johnson, Holt (c), Pilkington, E. Bennett, Wilbraham, Ward, Howson, R. Bennett
SUBS: Steer, Morison, Jackson, Surman, Hoolahan, Fox, Naughton

Same starting line up as Tottenham.  Surprised Naughton not returned - Drury deserves a run though.

hmm - looking at the pace and how much it moved not sure I can blame ruddy too much.

Sloppy passing in the build up costs us possession - and poor covering too as much to blame.

Still a good open game though

Why when we play the Manchester teams do we draw the best out of them? Against United De Gea showed why Fergie spent so much on him, and now City''s strikers are scoring absolute blinders.

Couldn''t make it to the game today, sitting in front of the telly...we''re getting outplayed in midfield
Scottish bas###d on Sky is getting on my nerves...
Is that the guy who keeps referring to Manchester City as ''We?'' - You should never have a pundit who is clearly so biased as he is.

Not a game for Ruddy to remember. First and second should arguably have saved, maybe let him off for the first as it moved, but the second seemed to go through his hands. Couldn''t do anything about the 4th, but 3rd spilling that is always likely to be costly.

On the upside, Hoolahan I think has made us look a different threat going forward this half.

I''m sure if Lambert had a blank cheque book we''d be in the top two too.

At least we should be first on MOTD tonight.

Not the greatest day at the office today, however, we had spells where we looked sublime. Just couldn''t capitalise on our chances. Lambert will make sure the team learn from today.

citeh are a fantastic side - 11 goals past us and the only side to truly outplay us in both games - and apart from sunderland the only side to score 3 more than we have.

We faced a talented team in full flight - next.

The main thing for me today was that we had to work blinking hard for every one of our chances, whereas Man City didn''t.

If you''d have offered me two draws against Spurs and Man City last week I''d have snapped your hand off. We''ve finished the week with one more point than if that would have happened, so onwards and upwards!

And that''s the best way to look at it.   Excellent post.   City had EVERYTHING to play for today if they are to still be in with a chance of the title and they knew it.   It was a MUST win match for them.   Unfortunately Norwich caught them on the wrong day!   City hit their form and don''t forget they put 5 past Spurs.   Although it''s a bitter pill to swallow conceding so many goals Norwich needn''t feel down about it and I''m sure will gain from it too.   When it comes to points it doesn''t matter if you lose by 1 goal or 10 it''s just pride that takes a dent.   So now for the next match - Indeed it is onwards and upwards!

Have to say when Surman and Hoolahan came on we looked really good and thought we were going to pull it level, but Man City stepped it up showed that they are still in the title race. Best team we''ve played this season home and away.

Moy- Ruddy''s tweet;

"Wow! Can only apologies for that performance from me! Horrible! See all the Swansea fans jumping on me too! Ha!"

Perhaps some on here could note this and let those of us who wish to discuss the game honestly do so without being told we should be praising all of the players 100% of the time!

But fair play to Ruddy. He''s had a good season, not his best game of the year by any stretch of the imagination. I''d rather he came out and said that and moved on than either kidded himself that he did have a good game, or dwelled on it too long. Looks like he''s taking it exactly how I''d expect him to do.
