Rasputin was a C... 0 Posted October 2, 2011 His time will come. How Scott Carson is in the squad is beyond me as he''s never performed at international level and is unlikely to ever improve.
Phillip J Fry 0 Posted October 2, 2011 Scott Carson plays for Bursaspor in the Super Lig and got in the England squad ahead of Ruddy? What the hell is Capello on? Shocking decision.
im spartacus canary 0 Posted October 2, 2011 having lower league goalkeepers in the england squad is embarrassing [:$]
Go Wash Your Mouth Out Son 0 Posted October 2, 2011 Makes me wonder what he''ll have to do to get in, if it''s true that Postman Pat''s assistant was watching then what was he expecting, the last couple of games I think Ruddy has been faultless, so were they expecting him to make a load of world class saves? Largey 0 Posted October 2, 2011 Disappointing but neither are likely to get a game.
Gingerpele 0 Posted October 3, 2011 I think it was Bethnal Y&G pointed out that 3rd choice GK is not going to play, and only in the squad for ''experience'' (and back up incase one of the GKs get injured, which is ridiculous when your playing 1/2 games you don''t need 3 GKs).As for Scott Carson, i doubt Capello has bothered to watch him or send anyone out to watch him, so don''t know why he is in the squad.... GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,035 Posted October 3, 2011 Who''d have thought this time last year we''d all be clamouring for Ruddy''s inclusion in the England squad??!...................Fraser who?
YellowLittle1 0 Posted October 3, 2011 It is odd, looking forward to Capello just scooting off back to Italy.Nonetheless it''s something for Ruddy to aim for and may prove a motivation for him to keep up his performances, he has already had a positive start to the season. Power Hamster 0 Posted October 3, 2011 I think it is shocking how few English keepers there are at the top level. In the old days we had a continuous production line of world-class goalkeepers (Banks, Shilton, Clemence, etc) and nearly every top division team had an English keeper who would walk into the current England side. YellowLittle1 0 Posted October 3, 2011 I think we have a good selection, but they have just been slaughtered in the press for mistakes. Paul Robinson, Robert Green, Joe Hart, Ben Foster. On there day the day are top keepers, they make one mistake the media are on it like a shot, I think the problem with England is the pressure created through the media and the expectancy levels because of it, I would love to just but a media ban around the England camp at the major tournaments
Brendo 0 Posted October 3, 2011 Should be...1. Joe Hart2. Ben Foster3. John Ruddy4. Brendan [:)]

komakino 282 Posted October 3, 2011 It''s been well reported in the press that Capello doesn''t rate Ruddy, hence his exclusion, but if he continues to impress, then he''ll have to give him a chance.
Brendo 0 Posted October 3, 2011 TBF he might feel himself unlucky, but as long as he isn''t in the squad, he isn''t injured. [:)]

Dave 0 Posted October 3, 2011 In the 70''s through to the 90''s England was spoilt for choice with keepers so much so some decent keepers never featured in the squad or only ever got a couple of caps. Power Hamster 0 Posted October 3, 2011 I agree it is odd though - presumably every player gets watched by somebody in the England set-up, so what have they seen in Stockdale that they haven''t seen in Ruddy? Capello has nothing else to do between internationals except watch football matches, so Ruddy must have been checked out.(Actually I am not sure what an international manager actually does all day in between matches. Does anybody know?)
komakino 282 Posted October 3, 2011 It was in several of the ''Nationals'', the last one to I read it in was the Daily Mail - not my sort of read though!
