I am a Banana 0 Posted April 6, 2010 Over this season his goals have earned us 13 points and without him we would be sitting in 4th place, Cheers Gunny - what a signing!
First Jedi 0 Posted April 6, 2010 Yeah - without Grant Holt, we''d have only 10 men on the pitch for most of the season!

Brendo 0 Posted April 6, 2010 Well no because we would still have a fairly decent striker, who would''ve scored a few. Anyway I get your point, he''s an absolute beast. [Y]

Mr. Bump 0 Posted April 6, 2010 Without Fraser Forster, Jed Steer and Declan Rudd we would have conceded 300+ goals this seasonAmazing stuff.Oh wait we''d still have had Theo.Perhaps 250+ goals
Barclay hero 0 Posted April 6, 2010 I was about to ask you where you''d been Nana, and then realised the school holidays have startedNice to see you''re still posting the obvious - however to humour you I would suggest that if we hadnt had Grant Holt, we may have had a few more goals out of someone like Cody McDonaldWho knows - who cares - its all conjecture, we HAVE had Holt in the team for most games this season and we are where we are

Jacko 0 Posted April 6, 2010 But we did sign him. We are deservedly benefitting from his goals because signing him for £500k is a lot of money in league one. The same as Southampton are benefiting from Southampton signing Ricky Lambert for £1 million. Plus I think you are being harsh on the team as a whole remember without Holt they beat Brentford (only having 10 men on the pitch), Hartlepool, Walsall and the only loss was to Millwall (when you consider their home record, their is no gurantee we would have won that game had Holt been playing). What I am saying? Well of course we are a stronger side with Holt in it rather than without him but we have other some pretty good players at the club alongside him. Thats what have differentiated from Leeds who don''t really have a plan B if Beckford isn''t firing.

Holty has contributed a lot more than just his goals. What about his all round play? How many points has that won us? I think you are doing him an injustice young Nana. He has contributed a minimum 20 points this season.Don''t listen to those saying stating the obvious or rubbish post or whatever, because every one needs a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDlQm5jFL50
Bill 1,788 Posted April 6, 2010 Personally I think we all too often overlook the part played by the goal posts in the goals scored column.Yet how many times do we hear fans moaning, "they are too wooden, no off the ball movement, too inflexible, only can be used in one position etc (I''ll try and add the now obligatory "they put in a good shift" if I can).In fact I bet if you asked the average fan they couldn''t even tell you their names.Football, eh ?
