AndyJR 0 Posted March 18, 2009 NCFC Says.... STRIKER LEE POISED TO JOIN Posted on: Wed 18 Mar 2009 CITY can confirm Alan Lee is poised to join the Canaries on loan from Crystal Palace until the end of the season, subject to the relevant paperwork being completed. The 6ft 3ins Republic of Ireland international striker began his career at Aston Villa but was unable to breakthrough to the first team at Villa Park. During his time at Villa the 30-year-old had loan spells at Torquay United and Port Vale before moving on to Burnley. It was with later Rotherham United that he really gained his reputation as a powerful front man with an eye for goal. He scored 37 league goals in 111 outings for the Millers between 2000-01 and 2003-04. He was linked with a move to Carrow Road in the summer of 2003 but instead completed an £850,000 switch to Cardiff City. After three seasons with the Welsh side he joined City''s rivals Ipswich Town in 2006 and scored 31 goals in 103 appearances before moving on to Selhurst Park in August 2008. City boss Bryan Gunn told First News: "Alan brings power and having watched him myself over the last two years and in games against Norwich City he''s a very awkward customer to play against. He''s got tenacity, he chases lost causes and he provides a goal threat. "With the seven games we have got left he''s very keen to come here and do well. He could have signed for another Championship club who were interested in him, which shows that he is committed to coming and playing for us." JJ 0 Posted March 18, 2009
probably better than Carl Cort i suppose.
Probably is. If Lee signs, I doubt we''ll see much more of Cort. Shows what a waste of money Killen was too. That''ll be 10 strikers signed or loaned since last summer. Sums up the whole season really.
