steve b 0 Posted August 26, 2008 Bloody typical the Iversen deal is off as Norwich City fail to meet the valuation for the player, I really feel sorry for Roeder as we can see and he says himself it would be the final piece of the jigsaw, i already knew the board had no ambition but this just tops it off, congratulations i would imagine Roeder is really happy to be working with you. We have wasted so much time chasing players that are not going to come here in a million years, not only do we not have the cash but we approach Iverson at a crucial point in Rosenborgs season. We are seriously running out of time!
spm2866 0 Posted August 26, 2008 This time its not the boards fault, they don''t have money to spend and Glenn has had to find cheap alternatives to his wish list, Iversen was on this cheap list.Seriously did we really want Iversen, he''s 31 and past his best in this country and he was never prolific in front of goal and Glenn wants 16+ from his strikers this season.Best of luck to Glenn in finding a gem in the rough....OTBC
Thecanaryfan 0 Posted August 26, 2008 Fingers crossed for a Helguson loan deal then I guess. Im on the verge of giving up. This board or ours are pathetic.

Carlos Valderrama 0 Posted August 26, 2008 The article doesnt actually quote any figures so it is perhaps a little soon to be blaming the board. Rosenburg are under no pressure to sell and could be asking for a stupid amount of money that we just arent prepared to pay for a player of his age. What is he worth, realistically? 300-400k, hypothetically if Rosenburg are asking for £1m then yes, factually we come up short, lack of ambition for not paying over the odds, no. It''s not the Board''s fault that they haven''t come up with sufficient funds for us to find a striker when we''ve been trying all summer to get one, and being consistently beaten to the best of them by other giants in this division such as Coventry, Bristol City and Burnley? Well that''s ok then, and of course it''s much better to shove Russell up front than sign Iverson, isn''t it?
WeAreYellows49 0 Posted August 26, 2008 lol what''s making me giggle is that some fans are suprised by this latest event. Shouldn''t we all be used to this happening by now?
Syteanric 1 Posted August 26, 2008 does anyone know when Iversens contract is up? if its at the end of the Norwegian season we could get him for nothing on a bosman.. we''d only need a fee if we wanted him now?Oh well.. I would caution everybody from jumping to too many conclusions based on the Rosenborg statement to the EDP which is disingenuous to say the very least. Depending on how this matter pans out I imagine Norwich will one day give their side of the story - or even the player may - which may be a somewhat different account. When Fulham signed Fredrik Stoor from Rosenborg in July, Stoor was on a five year contract not due to expire until 2012. blahblahblah 2 Posted August 26, 2008 Barclay Boy. If Rosenburg don''t want to sell, no amount of money would be enough. Roeder obviously feels that Iversen is worth waiting through August for. If Rosenburg go out of the cup on Wednesday, I''d imagine they will change their tune.

I guess it gives them more opportunity to quote from their own message boards, as they''ve been rather fond of doing lately. It seems actually getting down to the ground and speaking to real people is a lost art in the modern world of journalism. Why bother when they can do all their work from the comfort of their office? All they have done is repeat the same quotation that everybody else has used and claimed their it is from their sources in Norway. There is no information at all that states that Norwich failed to meet the valuation as far as I can see.
